- I had a few friends doing the race who were a little worried about some of the "technical" aspects. I think Powerline is the most technical bit, beyond the small section at the top of Columbine. We see Powerline early on in the direction of the vido, and then again on the way back in reverse. The erosion changes with time, but the nuts and bolts are all about the same. The last part of the descent in the video is steep and loose on hard-packed, and a large majority of racers end up walking up on the way back up. NO SHAME MY FRIENDS!!!
In the video I reference going up and down, but I did not put the uphill in this video. Sucks to suck.
My Garmin fell off. It also fell off last year. Someone please find me a Garmin mount.
Bike: Kona Honzo
Drivetrain: Shimano XTR 11-51 with a 34 t front chainring
Wheels: Astral Serpentine. Carbon?
Tires: Maxxis Rekon Race 2.4s with ... Questionably high pressure, 22-24PSI. None of my guages agree.
I didn't realize how much I missed you Becca. 🤗
“I’m too young to die!” Love it!
Garmin hanging on for dear life!
Great video.
❤
Oh Becca, after a ride like this You & Cory are entitled to have a big big big ice cream. 🍦🍨
You have the best energy! I love watching your videos! If you’re looking for a garmin mount, I highly recommend k-edge. Especially their over the stem mounts that replace one of your headset spacers. Puts the computer right over your bar but centered and it’s pretty rock solid.
I do have one, but it's on a different bike. I rigged something up. Looks SO PRO
@@GoFahrThat's the kind of PRO I aspire to be. 😄
Looked like you had a large distressed black beetle clinging on to your handlebars in the early stages lol.Jeeze I would not rate that that section in anyway a relaxing ride lots of scattered rocks and random ditches which could be easy to flip off on. No doubt one of the hardest sections. good luck with that one on the day.
The scary part for me is knowing at some point you ride up that hill. I hope Saturday goes well. I always look for your name when the results come out🚵♂️🚴🚴🏻♀️
If you have the bigger O rings that Garmin supplies, it's possible on a lot of stems to mount them in an X pattern on the top of stem on top of the faceplate. It will take some stretching and a little finagling to get the mount to settle into the ideal spot, likely some foul language, but I've yet to have one fail (but still always use the safety strap). Note that I in no way do the same amount of riding you do so YMMV?
Downhills like that just hurt.
If you have a 4 bolt stem get a garmin mount that bolts to it.That LBS on main street should be able to hook you up w/ something.
🤘🤘🚲
how about a garmin mount but it's like one of those helmet-mounted mirrors just in the corner of your line of sight
All my bikes are used and I've greatly benefited from a cheap Amazon electronic caliper that definitely is accurate to the mm (for measuring things like bar diameter)!
I am just starting XC. Should I get HT or full sus? Thanks!
Well, depends on your ability and trails and desires and budget. I'd suggest going full suspension if you only have 1 mtb.
i would have crashed my bike multiple times, that garmin mount would have taken all my focus and irritated the hell out of me
Perfect example of why I don’t ride mountain bike. Scares the 💩 out of me just watching it.
Check out the bar fly 4 MTB for an awesome garmin mount
Can I get it by... Right now?
@@GoFahr I think you need it by....yesterday
re garmin: wrap some tube rubber around the bar then put on garmin..
I used duct tape for the race
Just put a slice of old butyl inner tube between the clamp and the bars and your garmin will stop jumping like a crazy frog
Just no more Garmin - down with data!!!
wait is that the equipment sponsored athletes get? My goodness someone get her a Garmin holder lol
Hahaha I have them for gravel bikes! I didn't realize my gravel bars and mtb bars were different diameters and the mount I have is bar diameter dependent. I had one on my hei hei but snapped it in two when I decided to check out a tree real close and personal.
Good luck tomorrow @@GoFahr
Stem cap mount. $14
Garmin devices need to learn how to hang on. 😵💫
Criminal to ride a trail called 'Powerline' and *not* play I2I from the hit 1995 film A Goofy Movie
