Excellent video. I loved your intro and B roll showing ALL the R700 footprint rimfires having issues. If only you had a clip of someone needing a pocket knife or cleaning rod to extract a round. 😂 None of the R700 rimfires are reliable right out of the box. They require careful tuning of the chassis/stock and magazine catch/fitment. Ensuring your rifle runs reliably in every position is a huge step to increasing your score. If you’re not a tinkerer…stick to a CZ or Tika.
Vudoo should have looked into the mag design from the Coonan Arms 357 magnum 1911. See the ForgottonWeapons video on that gun for the elegant design. The other solution is to have a mag that staggers the rims on the width like a M&P15-22 mag or many 22 pistol mags. I find it odd that they didn’t bother to design a dead nuts reliable mag before making a gun around it. Good thing I’ve never had a CZ get rim lock.
I remembered the rim-lock problem so I watch for it with my polymer 10 rounder. I have four aluminum mags and hate the plastic loader they each come with, it's so slow! 👎🏼 I'm going to try your method, Matt. Thanks for the video!
For those considering the L3i ZeroSucks magazine: Lastest Gen 2 version of these L3i mags have very cheap/weak springs. If you load 14 rounds the spring can get tangled and it is very easy to replicate the problem. I did remove the bottom of the magazine and untangle the spring. My recommendation is not to load more than about 10 rounds. I expect more out of a $75 magazine. Pretty lousy customer service from L3i as well.
Instead of the tool I use my right thumb to push down the round below the one I'm feeding. Works in the same manner to avoid rimlock. It also helps to tap the mag on a hard surface in the right side up orientation.
I purchased a vudoo last year. While I have not had a feeding issue however the fit of the magazine is sloppy. When I say sloppy I mean they rattle in the mag well. I spoke to Vudoo and they advised to put velcro on the magazine to snug them up in the mag well. I figured with the machining abilities of today they could.make a better fit.
I just got a Vudoo and experienced the rimlock first day out. I think you are saying the Rim-x magazines will work with the Vudoo ? If so, do you have a link to buy them?
That is most definitely not what I said. RimX mags have a different feed angle and feed position, they won't work easily with a Vudoo. Vudoo is coming out with new alu mag this year though, that should fix all the current issues of rimlock, etc..
I scared John a little when I showed up at the MDT summer rumble with 3 brand new magazines I’d never shot before. I hadda remind him I can get away with that kinda stuff running a CZ!! 🤦🏼😂.
I like the BA Comp a lot but it was just too rear-heavy for the Vudoo. I didn't want to put a bunch of weights in the rifle, so the KRG balances it out very nicely.

Great video Matt, very comprehensive. I’m hearing good things about the L3i magazines, could you consider making a video about them please?
I’d like to see that also please

Well said, they all need tuning and I agree a CZ/Tikka is more hassle free for those that want to just take it out of the box and go.
Excellent, experienced based information.
Thank You
Thanks for this, my new Vudoo should arrive tomorrow and this helps!
Necessary information thanks. Will save it for the future. Blessings

Great video body, very very good way clear demonstration .

Awesome video thanks for the rim lock tip.. question.. ur belt where did u get it?
Thanks. I have an older video about my belt set up, everything besides the SAP carriers I made myself.
Great info Matt, thanks!
Why don't all manufacturers use 10/22 magazines is beyond me. 10/22 have ZERO malfunctions.
Very interesting Matt.
Love your videos!

@@Womfat - Thanks Matt. I guess I heard what I wanted to hear. lol. I look forward to the new mags.
Can you use RIm x mag in a Vudoo barrled action???

you did a very good job thank you
Very good video on this Matt. Ok vudoo mags aren't garbage....
Haha, thanks John!!
Hard to get to shooting the L3I when it won’t go in your chamber
You referring to the “zero sucks” mags?
Can you shim the polymer magazines to fit more snugly?
Probably, but I don’t want to bother with that.
Did you night like your mpa ba for your vudoo?

I would love to see a review on the ultimatum duece
Heard a rumor that vudoo is working on a new magazine design. Has anyone else heard about it also?
I haven’t heard anything but I wouldn’t be surprised
I am so pissed I spent money on Vudoo magazines. All I get are the rim lock on the Vudoo magazines.
LUV THE WAY YOU SAY TOPIC YOU MEAN ANOTHER PROBLEM 3 GRAND FOR MORE TOPICS YA RRRIIIGGGHHHTTT.... 🤣🤣🤣
