- The Abayudaya are Uganda's minority Jewish community. Rabbi Gershom discusses the community's nearly 100 year history and the challenges and successes that the Abayudaya have faced during that time.

I visited the Abayudaya in Nabugoya just three weeks ago. This film is a beautiful reminder of that wonderful, welcoming community and is very informative at the same time. Thank you for producing this excellent little video.

Thank you, Rabbi Gershom! Until this morning, I had no idea there was a Jewish community in Uganda. Your story was so beautiful it moved me to tears. My family escaped Russia in 1905 to a better life in America that was more tolerant of the Jewish people. Shabbat Shalom!

I just saw the film about a Ghananian Jewish community (Doing Jewish), who have been mentored by this Uganda community. While seeing people who don;t look like us, and are different from us in many ways, when I heard the prayers the imediate emotional response was "There's our people!!"
Amazing! It's good to know that Judaism is for everyone not just for Europeans and Arabs. Shalom ✡️

Shalom brother, they ARE Israelites (via bloodline), but they are being/have been misled.
