I wish these were available in Australia. You can easily get 140hp with a upgraded turbo and tuned ecu. And over 200hp if you really want to. So it would be almost better then a 420r because of the lighter engine and gearbox.
I’m currently restoring a kit-car Lotus 7 (Robin Hood), so glad to see another Caterham based video - keep them coming Aaron! Glad you’re continuing too!!!
I've watched a few videos of this car i absolutely love the sound. One side of me says another 20bhp will go along way in a car as light as this but turbo engine that small I would worry about long term reliability being driven that hard
Would you say the turbolag from that tiny Suzuki engine is noticiable? I mean, you have tried naturally aspirated Caterhams, so would you say the throttle response is similar or is it a bit slower? Thanks in advance.
Hello Enrique, that's a good question. I suppose I'd have to drive two Caterhams back to back, but I wouldn't say the turbolag is particularly noticeable, but I highly doubt the turbo is that big, therefore it will need less time to spool up. Thanks for watching.
Yes, I was trying to avoid that but that was the only area of the car park that was free. I did park the car facing the other way but the front end was all in the shade and the shots didn't come out very well. Thanks for watching.
Why is it? 2030 all ICE engines are banned. Can you imagine what an electric Caterham will be like. Not like this. Most people nowadays can't afford to run a 200hp semi racing car that is used on weekends only. This gives Caterham lovers, that don't have loads of money or time, to own a reasonable fast car. Where in the UK( apart from tracks ) can you do over 70mph legally? Nowhere, but you can do 0- 60mhp on country roads. This will if used smoothly be relatively economical for the daily commute.

Great review mate. I have a Superlight 150 but really fancy trying this. I bet the torque feels amazing on that model 🔥

Why they show a 29k price tag in their website at this moment?? Did they really raise it that much???
I can only assume that is the case, thanks for watching.
Great video Aaron. I recall when you took your GF out in a much quicker 7. This one looks very fun. Lil turbo sounds aces!!

Hi Victor, thanks for watching and thanks for the comment.
Is the 170 available in the US? I know the 360 and 420 are.
Hi there, thanks for watching. Judging the Caterham US website, I'm afraid not.
Lots of want for one of these!
I know right?! Thanks for watching.
@@CarObsession Thanks for making it 😊 Was a really great watch. Now for the saving up part.. 🙈
You forgot to put the arches forward for the roof, this would have added 5 minutes tu your video :)
Shame the yearly TAX bands were scrapped. This would have been £0!
Nice dog poo bin in the background…

Just no. Really poor way forward.
