    Great save of another radio wreckers truck stop cb slop. 👍 Shipping frustrations are understood. Have had to replace too many knobs and dials over the years from poor packing practices. Hang in there, Brother. Your messages are getting out, and I'm a helpin' ya shout. Smilin', I'm off the key. 😑🦗

    I def wrapped this 47 up like it was traveling to the moon! Lol. But yes Matt is giving good advice I'm an ebay seller/ frequent shipper. Those flat rate boxes not ideal for radios. Go bigger, insure it, invest in GOOD bubble wrap. Lots of it haha!

    Awesome job. I love it. I particularly love the meter install. PS you can do the minivan trick and run the back door off the hitch directly behind it. Just food for thought.

    What’s the usual turnaround time to have a radio upgraded to work better than OEM? Like fixing the modulation and the receiving cleanliness etcetera. There are a lot of decent radios that I can buy at a truckstop but they usually have some minor issue or another like noisy send and receive or the modulation is under performing.
    As a guy who is not familiar with radios I don’t know the proper question to ask other than how can you make it work better as a stock radio?

    • @TheRadioGarage
      @TheRadioGarage  3 года назад +1

      Turnaround is about 4-5 weeks right now. Most radios only need a proper tune and alignment. Then there are a bunch of other options and upgrades that can be done based on user preferences.

      @@TheRadioGarage honestly with the way CB shops are going these days it might be worth it to send you a Cobra 29 and just wait it out. What's you recommendation for an International LT with it's mirror mounted antennas?
      I'm going to be driving through the Colorado mountains all year so I'm definitely going to need some distance and clarity.

      @@MyWatchIsEnded Hi there! I have the same POS truck lol. I have a Browning antenna mounted on my slide bar in the back. I have a stand up 73” bunk but no hi rise condo so it gets well above my roof. My SWR is 1.4 on all 3 channels. That was the only solution I could come up with. Hope this helps pal!

    My 47hp was done like that truck stop hack job it’s a shame and the people I went to before don’t do radios anymore so I’m stuck lol

    Hey, I have an RCI x9 that's having some issues I would like you to work on it if you would how much would you charge to do this? How would I get it to you? It's very choppy cuts in and out as I'm driving down the road I've replaced my antenna and coax and it's still that way and people tell me my modulation is overpowering and I've turned it down on the radio and then nobody can hear me various other things I think I just got a lemon but I had a guy a peek and tune it at a shop where I bought it and I don't think he knew what he was doing.
