- I go over my overall thoughts on the Ayn Odin, the pros, the cons, and one of those pros being that it has something no other device has and I wish they did. Also, if this is a device I would recommend...

I absolutely love odin pro I have 62 PS2 games running absolutely perfect (that’s why I bought it)and the thing about android 10 it’s not really an issue there are a lot of places on the Internet where you can find almost every game and get them up and running without much hassle it can even play some switch games but when It comes to AAA games it’s a no go but for the price I think it’s an absolute winner🤘😎
I love my steam deck so I'm good on any other devices unless the Steam Deck Pro or 2 comes out
Boxing day maybe the price will be abordable
Nope, I'm not buying anymore devices. My door is closed, drapes drawn, and lights are off.
I don’t blame you. While this device is nice, the deck is just all around really good
I sometimes find myself using this more than my steamdeck. Plays up to ps2 and GameCube flawlessly.
I don't believe you when you claim gamecube and ps2 games run "flawlessly" on the odin. Some games like zone of enders 2 and champions norrath/returns to arm don't even run at acceptable framerate. Many of the ps2 games require tweaks and tampering with the settings to get them run decently without glitches. It's a good device for dreamcast and below generation of games, plus ds, psp and gba games. The form factor is the best for the handheld market. The gamecube and ps2 is mere plus not the main selling point imo.
@@sasoriobinnamii9223 well maybe it depends on the game but I’ve played thru entire GameCube and ps2 game’s flawlessly on my Odin. Right now I’m half way thru Pokémon grand colosseum and on the ps2 end I’m playing splinter cell pandora tomorrow. Both haven’t given me any issues what so ever. Matter of fact. Any game I’ve thrown at it works and most at 2x Some need tweaking yes but 5 min of tweaking isn’t really asking for that much considering you’ll have a smooth experience after. People who pick up and play will have issues sure but I’m no where near knowledgeable on tweaking settings but simply looking it up on Reddit and copying what someone else has done has always seemed to work for me. Like I said 5 minutes in return a smooth experience. The form factor is also fine. Coming from someone who has giant hands. Is a steam deck better ?? Yea of course but this is cheaper.
@@sasoriobinnamii9223 if you want Dreamcast and below get a RP3+. As for the Odin you should do some research and it does great for GC and PS2
The Odin suits my lifestyle much better than a steam deck. I like Retro gaming as far as Game Cube and I'm always out and about. I'm also into game streaming with GFN and Game Pass so the Steam Deck doesn't suit me. I do think I will buy a steam deck in the future because it has my interest but I could wait till they iron out it's bugs and make it a little more user friendly
No alcohol for 43 nights 🥇🏆
Even quitting drinking I can’t afford this thing yet 😅☠️
Congrats on quitting!
Congrats..
I'm had the odin pro for 3 months and a steam deck for a month. The odin is an alright device but if you want to play ps2 and gamecube games without constant tampering with settings then get the steamdeck. I prefer the form factor of the odin to the deck but it needed more horse power for 6th gen emulation.
Has aethersx2 gotten good enough yet that games run at full speed? Im specifically interested in the odin pro for ratchet and clank 1, Going commando, up your arsenal, and deadlocked.
So I am seriously considering getting the AYN Odin Pro 256GB. So you said that it can handle PS2 and GameCube games, and obviously N64 with no problem. I would love for you to test out PS3 games on it, to see if they will run. Will it run Wii and Wii U games? Will it run standard Xbox games? (Since Xbox 360 and up is out of the question) Sega Saturn and Dreamcast games? I have a Steamdeck already, but really want to have an awesome emulation handheld, and don’t want to drop the money that they are asking for the Loki.
I have my steam deck and I love it but I think I’m going to sell it, I am primarily a console gamer So I feel like the Odin Lite with Wi-Fi 6 would probably meet my needs better as an emulation machine/ remote play handheld. I know steam deck can do all that but by the time I sell it I could get an Odin and an Xbox Series S for access to GamePass and just stream everything at home or play retro games up to GameCube natively
Great video and I love my Odin pro man but like I said before I’ve been a mobile gamer for years now but it plays every game you can throw at it great if it’s a mobile game and so much more in emulation and Xbox game pass is amazing I’d say better then my Rog phone 3 but what I wanted to comment about was the part you said you were having trouble with PS remote okay so I’ve not used it for this but one thing that might help if your not using it is when you map your buttons click on the new button you just created and it will give you a menu for that Pacific button and you can make your buttons do all kinds of things but uncheck show button keys then they will be invisible on screen not sure if that helps but lmk 👍🏼 ps. You have to click on each button and uncheck them for all buttons you want hidden hope this helps 🎃
Thanks for the help! The PS remote app was the only one I really had issues with
I'd buy it but they have huge issues in not shipping it to buyers. It sucks because I have yet to see emulating device surpass odin pro yet. (Windows PC/steamdeck handhelds don't count lol)
I heavily criticized that aspect of the company, but it seems they have gotten a lot better. I ordered one 2 weeks ago and I got shipping notification yesterday. I heard some people ordering the black color are getting shipping notifications a lot sooner.
Would be better if you ran some tests instead of just holding the device and gave us a bit more of feedback about what games it can run and when it struggles with some footage and frames. It's an ok review, just wish it had more content on the device.
I cant see why you need anything other than Steamdeck
true but this is way more portable
If you wanna take it on the bus with you for commuting, it's kinda big... That's why I went with the Odin over the steamdeck, I just stream my AAA games from my home pc when at home.
Steam deck is for the couch. Not portable. May as well haul around a gaming laptop at that point.
@@armyofninjas9055 Yeah it's certainly no game boy lol. Can't just slip it in your pocket or jacket pocket, or pants pocket.. You need a case, a battery pack, all these accessories. It's a home device that's underpowered when we have a computer with much more power, just waiting there. Waiting to be streamed from..
Is this device worth it if i only want to remote play my PS5, yes i know i could use phone but it kills battery so wanted to get something more accessible to what i need, was looking at logitech g cloud but the price puts me off
This one works great, but the g cloud will probably be a little easier of an experience. You could also wait for the new ps handheld that is meant for remote playing the PS5.
Yes! Buy it! I got the base back in March and like... with game streaming? I got EVERYTHING covered! Great battery life, can play wii/ps2 etc on it while out and about and when at home, I stream my games at high quality from my pc! Given most people use a steamdeck at home, like... ya know? And that battery life ugh.. even when streaming.. ugh..
Once you root this thing, it's a f*cking beast! Windows 10 isn't that bad on it either, just there isn't much development for windows on ARM, sadly. Wii-u, ps3, xbox etc can't work on ARM, it needs an x86 processor, sadly.
Like I just think about the battery life, x86 devices chew through the battery, I don't want to constantly think about power when out and about, the new compact Aya Neo's are great but the battery life! I think the Odin is just great to have if you don't play AAA games when out and about and concerned about battery life. I'm using castor which creates a VM on my pc which I can stream from using moonlight and still have my pc available to do other things. As for latency, I don't really notice any, so if you got a good wifi connection at home and do most of your AAA gaming at home, why not?
Great vid!
Buying a Steam Deck purely for emulation is like buying Lamborghini to drive in NYC. Odin Pro is the hands down choice for retro gaming.
In 2022, is this worth getting over the Retroid Pocket 3+ or even the regular 3?
I'm on the same page with the same question. the advantage seems ayn does wii/gamecube
How long do you figure shipping times would be if someone ordered one today? I appreciate the honest review.
I ordered mine on Friday of last week and I’m getting it in 5 days
@@mello8506 thanks for the reply. That’s awesome!
If I only want that console to emulate PS2, which one do you recommend, the lite or Pro version? Cheers
Steam Deck and RP3 here.
I can't decide if I wanted to get the Ayn Odin Lite or Ayn Odin Pro handheld? I am hoping this work for T-Mobile network
Neither of these work with cell networks (LTE). The pro/base model is the better option
@@games_revealed wait they don't work with networks?
I'm in Australia. So I can't use my phone Wi-Fi hotspot to connect on an Ayn Odin console??? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A20 4G phone.
@@HHGTV not sure
How much space (GB) do most emulators take up on average
Like 0 lol. Emulators are small. Roms on the other hand can be small or huge.
Is this better then pro
This is the Pro version. The biggest difference is the 8GB of RAM vs the 4GB in the base model
I just want to play android games and emulation. Im waiting on a 5g capable device
The gpd XP plus is out now and has 5G support.
I stopped viewing when android got a mention.
Nothing wrong with android
It's not worth it now when you can get the Logitech g cloud, way better.
logitech g cloud costs more 😂😂 and it has less space and ram
The G-cloud is underpowered, doesn't have video out and it's sd card is limited to fat32, meaning no large ps2 games, and it doesn't really have the power to play ps2 games at anything above 1x. And it costs more than the Odin.
The Odin is a better buy, but if you are going for ergonomics, the G-Cloud is great.
Youre kidding right? The Logitech G Cloud is not on the Odin's level..
Are you a shill mate. The odin pro and lite is far better than that rush out mediocre device.
