@@sly7642 I came from 8 months after the future to tell you that you're all correct. Brett currently resides in a box, a guitar is near the box and we can speculate that until he picks up the guitar, he exists in a state of being both terrible and amazing at guitar.
+MumblesthePyro Haha, wonderful! It's 2 AM here now, and I have to get up at 5 - 6 am (when my 1 year old wakes up EVERY morning).. So many tabs, so little time..
MAN I just love the way these guys are so talented, not only are they able to create beautiful tunes,... with crazy lyrics,... but perform them with flawless comedic timing and expression..... the best.... thanks for posting...
FotC really is a musically talented duo, and their humor is witty and hilarious. In my opinion, they've improved over the last few years. What a perfect combination.
i imagine it's impossible to run a candle business in new zealand, i bet they can't even tell the difference between their candle wicks and their candle wax.
they play up the accents SO much, i've noticed murray does it loads in the tv show. it must be really annoying for actual new zealanders but to a british guy like me it's friggin' hilarious. the part where murray's talking about the chicken and the egg and egg is just pure "eeeeeg". priceless.
Thanks to RUclips, I've found this duo again! I saw them on the Comedy Channel, but forgot their name. I LOVE them-- they're hilarious!! Want more, please...
@@walterzamalis4846 ACTUALLY BUDDY, they change that part depending on the location they are performing in, and this was recorded on their Australian tour. They have also said Paris, New York and Amsterdam before when in the US. Do not check me on the CONCHS
you know, these guys are so damned funny, i love their show, but i prefer this live stuff. of course you see how funny they are on their show, but here, you can see that.... damn, they are great musician/songwriter/performers. i hope they keep going on and on and on
You know what I really love about RUclips? Reading people's arguments but in saying that I'd rather watch Flight Of The Conchords doing a better job. *smiles sweetly*
I so agree. I bought their album, and I still use RUclips as a my playlist for when I want to hear FoTC. They simply sing with much more intense passion!
I know this is an old video, but i just noticed that Jemaine not playing guitar except for the beginning (out of key). Looks like Bret just started off in the wrong/different key, and Jemaine has no way to come in and know what to play. Haven't we all been there. Good example of don't play if you don't know what to play, that is better than pushing through a song in the wrong key. Great entertainers! really miss the old show.
I wondered that but it just sunk in, they are apparently a super popular folk band, travelling all around the world, but they are likely doing all their shows in the U.S.
It's actually remarkable difficult to keep track of where you are in a song if you're not playing. I think he keeps a track of where they are just for the bits that he actually does play :) You only have to see their other stuff to realise just how technically accomplished Bret and Jermaine actually are.
When I heard they went to the states I thought that our subtle way of humour wouldn't work there. As Americans are typically accustomed to humour that is obvious and on the spot. But I'm damn proud that Americans have taken our subtle way of humour with open arms.
In this version he says F16 (which is a fighter jet) in the TV-series and on the official album he says M16 (which is a rifle). There's a lot of the songs which lyrics isnt 100% same as in the TV-show and album.

Brett is an excellent, underrated, guitarist. To sing what he does and play the muted riffs at the same time is very impressive.

They're so perfectly in sync in all their live performances..!!! I love these guys!
This is the best version of this song.
I love how Jemaine always has to check the back of his guitar to find out where he is, he couldn't even remember where he was like a minute later.
"It's the least we can doooo-oooo"
Genius! These guys are the Einsteins of the folk parody scene!
I've had this song in my head for days now. I love it
I Love how he says " Republic of Dominican" lol it's great.
FotC really is a musically talented duo, and their humor is witty and hilarious. In my opinion, they've improved over the last few years. What a perfect combination.
new year and its time to binge all their songs again.

Jermaine is rocking that 1970s look.
"even you must be into you" uh smooth:)

2:32 Bret giving us the eyes...
I really like these two, this song is really cool too, never gets old to me.
They're gitting a bit sixy? No one tell Iminim.

I love you guys. You help me get through the day. Turbo imagination.
they have to be one of the funniest comic duos ever.
Two islands. I can always remember New Zealand because there's an Island off the South Island named Stewart Island, which is my name.
Wish I could find more videos from this gig. They're really on their game and Jemaines outfit is hilarious.
these guys rule... might not have the best songs in the world...but they have some of the best performances... they are a joy to wacth.
This is a really good one. I prefer the live versions because it's more like a stand up act and proves they don't need no mixing to be good or funny.
I'm a huge fan of these guys. I hope they become so much more famous than any duo ever
"I don't care if you're uglyor you're skanky or you're small"

My favorite is at 2:05 when they start vocalizing "put down his weapon, pick up a womaaawn"
Sounds funky.
redheads not warheads
I remember seeing this on a stand up comedy special on abc , conchords blew everyone else away. Hysterically funny
Jemaine's style back then was actually quite good. It's giving 70's realness and he matched his shirt to his glasses which I thought was just amazing.
it's great how u see that one of his guitar strings broke but he keeps going and it still sounds great!

How is it possible to not love FOTC? Love from America!
No clue these guys had a set in 1992
J'adore ! ils sont juste excellents !
they started off playing in a completely different key to one another but then Jemaine quickly noticed and stopped
I thought it was on purpose lol
It was definitely on purpose.
Absolutely, DarkSpaceStudios.
Jemaine Clement did star in Men in Black 3 and Dinner For Schmucks.

I always thought Jemaine was just doing a modulation. It definitely didn't sound bad.
Yeah, I like your sentiment, but I can't hear anything out of key..?
that was obviously on purpose
This is definately one of their best gigs.
"I just want to do something for all the ladies in the world"

"Hermaphrodite,"
"Lady man lady"

I think they put a lot more emotion in these live shows than what is on the TV show.
Brett wrote the chorus for that new Rihanna song clearly
These two have been cracking me up since i saw them at the fringe 2005/6ish then the hbo special i was like oh they made it to the us wow
