JazakAllahKheir, I am a American revert to islam for almost 30 years. The father of my children was a born muslim but did not practice our entire marriage of 15 years. I took shahada after we had been married 2 years. I had studied islam for a while and realized a family with 2 religions would end up having no religion. After studding islam I knew it was the right choice for me and my children. The father of my children said he would leave educating our children about islam to his friends which I could not except. I became muslim and dedicated my life bringing up our children in an islamic home. I taught myself arabic and how to pray. Back then there was not really internet! I was blessed to work in our local islamic community and even was a founder in our states only islamic school. But the more I gave to my Dean and our children the worse my marriage became as the father of my children was torn and happy in the world of not being muslim! I wont go into his sins because even though we are not married now, I still protect the sanctity of our marriage ! I had a chance to live with my children in the country of their fathers family and birth! I loved it there as well did my children. My birth family rejected me and disowned me because they hate islam due to the beliefs of America being full of misconceptions … After 15 years of being the only practicing adult in our home, I divorced the father of my children. I had no idea he would turn the divorce on me and break every agreement by keeping our children from me for almost 10 years. Our children were brainwashed into believing false and slanderous accusations of my character that actually he committed and not me. Our children needed their mother as well as a father. The damage was done not only with my children but in the same community I dedicated my life and time to….I understand now that I was putting so much into being a good wife and mother I had neglected Allah ! Now my children are married. Their father came back to islam after our divorce but with all the things done to my character I just feel sorrow, not for me, for out children and for him! Now I am safe and work on my relationship with Allah coming first everyday! The very children I was told medically I would never be able to have, and when I did get pregnant almost losing my life with each pregnancy dont even speak to me. It is their test…Please parents, a child needs both parents as well as Allah first in their lives! Forget your own wants and needs and do the right thing. Love your children enough to put your differences aside!

If both did ruju in between three menstrual cycle period then no but after that nikah becomes void so if they wanna stay with each other again they have to do Nikah with new meher...

What happens it is about pregnancy. Back in the day there were no pregnancy testing so it was a means to see if she was pregnant. But it's about sex so the men really wanted a divorce but would continue having sex with the wife and would end up in the same situation divorcing her waiting to see signs of pregnancy and with no discipline repeating the process.
