- SLOB Technique in radiology is a radiology technique for object localization and canal localization.
The SLOB Technique is used to locate superimposed structures. SLOB stands for same-lingual, opposite-buccal.
SLOB Technique other names are tube shift method, Clark's method and, the Buccal object rule.
The principle of SLOB Technique in dentistry requires exposing two different angulated intraoral x-ray images of one area.
Dentists and dental students can use the SLOB technique in endodontics for canal localization, and localization of impacted tooth.

Glad it was helpful!
Thanks God bless you..
We need more from these amazing videos 😊
Glad you liked it
It*s genial!!!! Thank you so much!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
Can you please explain how @4:45 you got DL and DB roots? I thought it would be the opposite since the distal root that was in the original image also moved distally (opposite of the PID, just like the MB root). Thus, it should also be DB?
Excellent ❤🎉
Best video class for SLOB rule
Thank you so much. I suggest you to watch the second video of this subject, I am sure you will like it very much.

Very good video ,can you explain the tube shift to distal direction also ... TIA
Hi there. Glad it was helpful I have a second video on SLOB technique maybe that might be useful. I'm not sure which part you are asking. If you mean determining that root canals, if we have a distal shift the canal imaged in the distal is the lingual canal - the canal in the mesial is the buccal canal (same-lingual, opposite-buccal.)
In four canal teeth like mandibular molar with a distal shift, on the radiograph, going from distal to the mesial will be ( DL, DB, ML ,MB).
Please give me a feed back if you had your answer. :)
