- Hi everyone! Welcome back or welcome if you are new. My name is Monica and I am the founder and creator of Girasol Vintage.
In this week’s video, I’m going to show you how I transformed this vintage bentwood rocking chair to save it from the landfill and sell it in my booth shop at the Newburg Vintage Emporium in New York. I got this rocking chair from Facebook marketplace for $20. Whenever I see chairs with cane webbing in good condition, I pick them up because this style sells well in my area.

I just bought ones yesterday from fb marletplace but it was $100 in my area. Still worth it to me. My son and i nearly broke our hands and backs trying to sand it all to stain it and gave up. So i will take it apart tomorrow and do what you did but only with spray paint. Thanks for your video. ❤

I wish that I could remember the name of the furniture artist who bought a primer/paint & then added her own topcoat without any color diminishing. She did this to all of her paints & put them in quart mason jars, painting the outside of the jars. So that all of her paint was all-in-one. I sat here with my mouth hanging open -- how simple an idea & how beautiful was her paint cabinet!

Thank you for your video! I have a bentwood rocker I purchased in the early 80s - no cane just padded material. Has rocked my children and grandchildren to sleep but want to update with new paint. Thanks for the video and inspiration to do so.
Greetings from New Paltz! I have visited Vintage Emporium. Great video. My husband grabbed one of these chairs off the side of the road today and I want to do this color scheme exactly. Two questions: 1) What finish poly did you use ... satin? 2) How did you spray poly the seat without also hitting the cane? Or do I WANT to poly the caning, as well? Thanks so much!

Hi, I just came across your video. I habe my grandmother's rocking chair. She passed in 1987. My idot brother had the chair in pieces in an old box. I acquired back the chair but the hardware has been lost and I do not know which ones to get. I bought a house and would love to put it back together and put it in my guest room. Can you help me, please?

@@GirasolVintage Thank you. I did end up buying another chair so I can see what kind of hardware it takes. The ones I got doesn't fit quite right. I think I been to go a little smaller. I plan to head to the hardware store this weekend to find another set.
