Really helpful thanks! I aspire to make a setup like yours for all my hamsters one day. Currently saving up for new supplies as I’ve got a list but it’s quite expensive and I want to get it all at once ideally to save on overall cost spent on postage 😅 but will refer back to this video once I get all the supplies 🐹🥰

I'm currently saving my money for hay, I spent it all on a big cork log! 😅 I had 8$ left so just went to the dollar store lol
(The smallest size of hay my local pet store has is 40 oz and its 18$ where I live)

How often do you change the layout? And also how often do you move his multichamber hide and remove his old nest? I personally haven't touched his nest ever for a year
I change the layout about every month. I try to keep the main things in the same place- the wheel, mch and dig boxes are in the exact same place as the previous setup!
question, is it hard to clean the cage? like there’s so much that it might be a bit hard to find the hamster and take all the stuff out

How did you make your platforms high enough for over 11 inches of bedding? Did you make your own platforms? Cause all the ones I see on amazon go as high as 7 inches
You can buy birch/beech wood dowels from amazon and use non toxic hot glue to add them on to platforms! I use the ikea variera ones😊
Obviously if your hamster starts to excessively chew the non toxic hot glue, I'd remove them, but I've never had an issue
Do you get your sprays somewhere that American residents can get them too? I've been trying to find sprays for sale, but I can't seem to find ones for sale that have a lot of variety! If yours are only available where you live, I totally understand, so no prob!

Thank you so much! It usually takes about 15 mins to spot clean, and I do a layout change every 1-2 months in this sized enclosure ❤️

How do I encourage my hamster to use her sand bath?
You can put different treats or food in there!If she still doesn’t use it, it’s fine, but still keep it in at all times in case her coat gets oily.
Where do you get your spruce wood bedding?
I'm not sure of the website but I just search chipsi classic bedding and buy from whichever website is the cheapest 😊

You can use unscented paper bedding or aspen!
The only thing I would change is take out half the hideouts and other obstacles so the gerbils can dig and move around more freely. Way too much stuff in the cage.
This cage isn't for gerbils- it's for a hamster, and as prey animals, having lots of hideouts makes them feel more safe
With dwarf hamsters or even robos can they be handled and tamed like Syrians or even free roam ❤

@@user-rs8ke9jn3l ah sorry I misread as 'they can' rather than 'can they?'!! It all comes down to the hamsters individual personality, but generally Syrian hamsters are more likely to be easy to handle. Again it comes down to their individual personality with free roaming, some will love it, and others won't!
