- This routine was performed at 2013 Skate America by Russians Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov who were Russian National, European, World and Olympic Champions. Music: Jesus Christ Superstar rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Brought tears to my eyes. As a former pro Ice skater, I never in a million years thought I would see perfect pair skaters perform flawlessly to a brilliantly edited rendition of the Andrew Loyd Weber musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" coupled with outstanding and heartfelt choreography-costumes that mirror that era in history- I could continue ad infinitum. Hence, It's miraculous the Russians allowed them to perform-almost as though worshiping the Lord-to Jesus Christ Superstar. Perfection. How I would've loved to skate that routine with my former skating partner Greg- to that inspiring music....Truly made my heart melt! They deserve the GOLD! As the commentator states 'They have the "WOW" factor. I believe they have the "God" factor! (i.e. they were performing for our Lord Jesus Christ!) Notice the end pose. Fantastic. It looks so effortless. I don't want to know how many times she fell when they exersised those throws and brused herself. The chemistry between the two us simply beautiful to watch.

That's definitely one of THE best performances I have ever seen in figure skating. Very good. The height on the jumps, the synchronicity, timing. All of it was absolutely amazing.

I know, unlike pairs like Virtue and Moir. I'm not saying that they're betyer skaters, but they def have more chemistry, artistry, and passion. These two perform clean and purely technical. Their dances seem like an imitation of love and passion, as opposed to it being actually love and passion.
That’s the result of hard work and dedication of a devoted pair and the coaches; nobody saw how much they were sweating day in and day out in ice rink for years!

Tatyana and Maxim, their coaches and choreographer(s), this Team have exceeded all others in this sport. They make a sport that is incredibly dangerous look easy, with powers that seem to be Divine. Darlyng Delgado My mum saw a kid get their finger sliced off... So clearly, it happens. With enough strength and speed even a butter knife can do remarkable damage.
There has actually been a pairs team who while competing, the guy was trading during his camel spin and sliced the girls cheek.

It is astonishing how two skaters so different in size can perform in sync so perfectly..... the camera work picks it up expertly, they are moving like one person in the mirrored moves....

They are indelible. Their ballet,workouts,training and coaching all worked beautifully to get them where they are....It's rare that I get a little fixated wanting to watch them more.. They are captivating and infectious. Everything in the routine was brilliantly choreographed. The cross signing that Max made @2:54 was a brilliant piece. My god they deservedly won the gold in Sochi. Some say that Max is just an average man (in height), yes ok...but he looks like a giant fit adonis skating next to his little princess.

It's been four years since they've won Olympic gold and skating field is so empty without them. There is simply no one even close to their artistic level. Sorry, Sui/Han, I love you but even you can't fill their shoes.
This was at Joe Louis arena here in Detroit, MI.... I wish I would have had a chance to see this live when they were here...
Watching their performances has been the highlight of the Olympics so far for me. The ice dancing has also been spectacular, especially the American pair Davis and White. She has a very unusual beauty and he is just a gorgeous hunk, but what these pair skaters do is SO much more difficult than what the ice dancer do, it's almost unbelievable, the lifts and the throws, especially! How can you get thrown through the air, spinning, and land on one foot, backwards, still moving? Never ceases to stun, watching them do that. I really loved their costumes and choreography it was a level above everyone else. Maxime is GORGEOUS, but humble and very emotive and sweet, and that comes out in his performance. And she is a little iron ballerina, tough and beautiful!
Yes, and they do it all without padding and helmets. Football players would be afraid to do what they do.

Look at the dramatic point in the end of the performance at 5:23! The skaters place their arms in a certain positions expressing a Calvary. Tatiana bowed her head symbolizing a crucifixion. It is so profound mise en scene!
Wasn't that a great ending. When I first say it I was amazed because it was so intricate. I can watch this performance again and again and again.

Yes, it's true, the end is awesome, very dramatic and representative of the crucifixion. There are other signs of the cross at the beginning of the program when he hold her hand and she puts the other hand on his foot forming a cross with her feet on the ice and making a spiral. In Sochi they made a change, he hold her under the armpits, the cross will be seen more clearly and, for me, this represents the moment when Jesus carries his cross, it's perfect and beautiful. In the middle of the program, after the spins side by side, he makes the sign of the cross with his hand looking and blessing her, and after the spins together he crosses himself. It's really impressive. The choreography is fantastic. Both act wonderfully, living their roles all the time.

i love ice skating, always have, I used to teach little kids how to ice skate, I played ice hockey, but for whatever reason when I watch figures skating, i start crying like a little baby.

They worked so hard to reach this perfection. I saw them in older programs and was just blown away like these cannot be the same couple because they weren't nearly as good as they were here which is just amaze.

This actually happened with a skater several years ago. She had to get stitches across her nose and left cheek.
