How did you get the ghost cam set up? I have the borla stingers, and I'm ordering the headers and x-pipe. But couldn't find too much information on the ghost cam. I have a 2012 V6.
Thanks alot :) ... I have done alot more refinement on the exhaust setup now and have managed to get rid of alot of the rasp with the addition of some resonators. I need to make a new video tho, just havent had the time .... will be making it soon though
Ghost cams are basically re tuning the stock tivct system (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing System) in the mustang to replicate the idle and real of an old school big block. They don't really offer performance gains on the v6 but are more for show. If you like that muscle car sound then its for you.

I drive a 99 V6 mustang, True Dual exhaust, BBK Headers, Mach 1 Shaker hood/working system. She sounds like a v8 but very quiet, So I was wondering do you think they have ghost cams for the 99 v6? And for all you V8 hotheads, Mustang was originally a v6 that took on a v8 vette, bigger doesn't always mean faster.
I'm glad you love your Mustang and proud of it, and I'm amazed of the technology that Ford uses to get that power out of a small 3.7 liter V6, but that exhaust note is toooo raspy. I had an off road H and Bassani's on my 07 GT and the raspyness was such a mood killer. Put some chambered mufflers on, and I bet it'll sound better. And if you already have chambered mufflers, swap out your mid pipe. Just my opinion though. I do like that you can get a ghost cam for it though!

sorry for the late reply, i dont think theres much sound/ hp difference ... The sound manly depends on you axlebacks. I got the borla because i already had the borla ataks and they use a higher grade stainless steel as well as better quality construction than bbk. If you wanna save a few buck then get the bbk. you will still get the same results.
really bro, and how do u figure that ... i have had it for a year now and have had not 1 issue ... the ghost cam is also a factory option on the Boss 302 with the track key and i doubt ford would sell something that would hurt their product

Someone is selling the Borla x pipe and LT headers in my area for $659.00. Would you recommend that over the BBK equal setup, almost the same price. Not sure about the aluminum can sounds is throwing out. Btw I would be using stock axle backs.
Ataks are amazing :D , i haven't tried the others but the ataks alone are pretty loud( check out my other videos for comparison). Alot of people swap the ataks for tourings once they install headers or go cat-less but i just added some resonators and its tamed it down abit.

This must've been a tough thing for MPT to do given the 3.7L's variable cam timing. Have you noticed any issues with the engine at all? Does it affect performance? Tuning the car so that the cam timing is only affected at idle is tough. And what level of the 3 options offered did you go with?
A lot of iconic European sports cars were V6, in relation to the Mustang by parent company there was the Ford Capri (Not the Fox) which is an amazing little car, the performance is surprising out of the Essex 2600 V6 and the 2800V6. they only got better with each revision and the later replacement as you can see with the V6 you own. So don't feel ashamed at all you have a nice lightweight performance engine.
Yes soon, finally getting some free time on my hands ... Basiclly if you have the disposable income get the borlas but if you wanna save some money and still be loud get the roush. Borla Ataks alone will blow your mind :D
This sounds like a beast. I have a regular where I work that came in with his car I cannot remember what it was. He sounded like this when he pulled in. The whole store wanted him to give it gas before he pulled out that day. If you came into my job we would all be like you have to gas that thing hahahahaha.
I actually just finished building my stang. I need to haul her down to dallas and get a dyno tune. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks. Right now i'm drivin an old crappy 76 chevy truck. It's good to find other mustang enthusiasts in town...not many down here. I suppose u go to A&M as well..
Thanks, yeh cypress :P .... to be honest i think the headers all sound the same or at least very similar. what matters still is your muffler, and the s type is the best option cause its not as loud as the ataks so it wont be as raspy and annoying :P Headers are expensive but sooo worth it in the end :P
naa, a long time ago one of the Bama guys wrote how the ford people approached them and asked them to stop because they were copyrighting the ghost cam technology to be used with the boss 302 track key. i dont know what happened to all of that but now ghost cams are all over the place. for v8's you can go to steeda and lund and for v6's the MPT performance. ... in regards to drivability, ive had the tune for more than 6 months now and have had no problems
I did the same thing dude. got a v6, insurance its 200 a month... once i graduate im getting a supercharger it should boost me up to 500+hp. right now 31 mpg its not bad at all. 2013 the best.

Sounds Great my man, but definetly get some aftermarket wheels and tires. I had a '11 3.7 with Borla S-Type and Lethal H Pipe. Didnt quite sound as loud as this but just as good. I rolled around on the stock 17s until I put the gears in.. traction was just too hard to get with those bicycle tires lol.
MorePowerTuning ... they are the only ones doing it for the V6 and i highly recommend it. with the right exhaust setup, it sounds better than the v8 ghost cams (in my opinion)
I got a 2014 v6 and I was wondering if the roush axle-backs alone give a nice sound. Along with a noticeable sound difference compared to the stock exhaust.
I have the roush axle backs for my 14 v6. . it sounds nice at times and sounds somewhat annoying at times. but it's definitely loud and will turn heads. I'm happy with it. I also have a cai which makes it sound a little deeper.
Ataks + OffRoad Headers= Tin and rasp @ 3500RPM+ :( ... if you have headers and ataks your gonna want to add resonators to remove the rasp. i have added resonators and its has removed the tin rasp sound and made it deeper while not sacrificing power. ill upload a new video soon when i get some free time to show the difference. people have also installed stypes and tourings with headers but i personally feel the ataks sound the best in regards to muscle sound.
Its cool...a little too raspy for me but its probably just the recording making it sound a little higher pitched. One thing though...you ride the clutch a little bit.

they use regular gas from the factory but his tune probably requires 93 octane gas. and i'm pretty sure the stock engine performs better under 93 octane... that's not always the case though
Good choice. It NEEDS resonators to be honest. I think your setup would still be real nice with the S or even the Touring if you have headers and cam. Probably be a little deeper sounding.

There is a v6 mustang, bolt on, that has only 2500 dollars into the motor, and 500 into drag slicks that runs 10.90 at the track. I respect the shit out of them. I myself, have a 6 speed 5.0, and love it. The sound is the only thing I can't get passed. If I could I would have saved 10grand and got the v6.
Dont worry i felt the same way, it was scary to drive (cause of cops checkin me out) and i got headaches from the drone :P. I have since installed Hiflow Cats and they have tamed it down alot and reduced rasp alot to were its a absolute pleasure to drive. Theres still abit of rasp between 3000 and 3200 but i just powerthrough it :P ill post a new video soon of the updated set up :) .
yeh they did. i had no cats so it was illegal because A) no cats and B) too loud ... i have been forced to add hi flow cats and resonators and now its quieter but still insane... its basically gotten rid of the rasp and annoying sound that you hear in this video... i need to make a new video soon
nice, the new v6 has more HP than the old gt stock so if you get a new 5.0 ur gonna have fun :) ... the red lines are some custom pinstripes i did myself, tried to make some unique racing stripes instead of the usual double solid line design.

This particular V6 Mustang wins my respect. It sounds like an E46 M3 with full exhaust while driving and a cammed LS1 at idle. Awesome!

It a tune which changes the timing in the stock camshafts to create a lope ... not actual camshafts

It sounds a little like the GM3800 series enging exhaust like on the Grand Prix,Grand AM, etc. When you are watching the interior video.
