That "rage and self respect" line kills me everytime
That's why I love the character, that one line alone shows us everything we need to know about them

I like to think it's because of how you can apply it to every atrocity and wrongdoing privileged people are able to get away with because of their influence, meanwhile everyone else just sits around crying and doing nothing about it because they're so used to being pushed around and told what to do, they're more than comfortable letting said privileged people do whatever they want.
"Where's your fucking rage?" Is both a wake up call and a condemnation.
Billy's rage is justified
Just because it can be seen as justified doesn’t mean he should over-indulge it. That’s kind of one of the themes of the show.

Where is your rage? Your self respect? I ask this to myself every time some asshole tries to exploit me. It can be your boss, a bully at school, a religious leader, a politician. There are a lot of assholes out there who think are untouchables just like the sups. This show is all about fighting back those assholes. Simply love it.
It only takes one bad day to make a hero or a villain. But every now and then, the unthinkable happens, that one bad day creates a self righteous monster with directed rage.

@@reginthehoneybadger8957 I had my one bad day. I was bullied till they broke me, then i bullied the bullies. Always had an excuse, always felt like a crusade. Turns out I was just another monster. Worse, i had a dillusional self righteous belief that i was doing the right thing by putting bad people in their place and i was angry that mpre people weren't standing up along with me.
So yeah, Joker. Ha ha

I'd consider the Butcher more along the lines of The Punisher. The joker doesn't do anything out of nobility or justice
Butcher isn't an example of that n the slightest. Literally his entire life outside of Becca has been a collection of bad days

In the comics the Boys all have enchanted speed and strength, with exceptions being Frenchie and MM. MM has those powers from birth but with a downside, I'm not going to say it, you look it up yourself because I do not want to type that out. Frenchie had enchanted senses, he was able to literally smell for targets. But the show is being done VERY differently from the comics, and frankly I enjoy the show more than the comics

Billy's not the hero of this story. I think that's part of the point. At the end of the day, there are no real heroes.
