As you rightly say , built to perform than for looks which sounds like he has got the right business model to me . You’ll have to do a video on your own setup , I’d say most of us would be interested in what rocks your boat . 😀👍👍👍 kind regards
Nice to find tom being talked about on utube I had an eikos cd player off him years ago Fab piece of kit, and he modded a couple of amps for me too Top bloke
I was selling amplifiers , cottage industry that sounded awesome. A guy wanted me to supply it in a proper box with instructions, so i suggested the price would be £1000 more. There are some mental people in this world
If you want pretty packing then you will pay more, I don’t place the packing in front of my speakers to see what it sounds like. So long as the product is suitably boxed I see no issue.

Very interesting video. It’s great to hear about small British hifi brands who put sound quality first.
Very interesting I have not seen this make before, thanks for that.
added a Rothwell MCX SUT and now this Microgroove x M ii plays really well

British Hi-Fi is such poetry
I remember Tom Evans Modified Pioneer amps being a big thing back in the day, or is it me....
He did .... very effective too
Very interesting though I’m not sure if I would ever use one….never say never as they say…👍
Can't agree enough fantastic to chat to
I love the Tom Evans phono stages but reliability is dismal & you are right Tom is a genius & a really nice chap .....
my Groove is over 15 years old and still going strong , no idea where you got the reliability issue from.
Nice
maybe too detailed and not enough warmth
Crap packaging.

I've never heard good sounding packaging.
Good packaging gets item to user safely and then can still be re-used or if not wanted should be recyclable. IMHO
