      You also need to eat more protein.

    I drink a protein shake with my meal. This makes it easier to hit a higher protein level at each meal. Today I had 4 ounces salmon, mixed leafy green salad with nectarine and a protein shake. Since I have been doing this I have noticed a huge difference in my health, strength and immune function. I make sure I never eat less than 100 grams protein per day. I usually eat around 150 grams protein as I also strength train 4 times per week. This advice is vital for those 40 years and over. Thank you.

      It that's all you had in a day you're only at about 45 grams of protein. Not near enough. Use Chronometer to figure it out. You need at least 2.7 g/meal of lucine to have any effect at all.

      @@althe Not in a day per meal. That was just my lunch, which comes to 58 grams protein due to the type of protein shake I use.

      If you wanted 50 grams of complete protein, you should factor in that up to 30% (15 grams) can be lost in the body converting it to Amino acids.
      So in essence, you'll need to eat 65 grams of complete protein to ensure you get the NET 50 grams you need.

    Adrenal burnout, a bad knee, shin splints, tennis elbow, hormone imbalances from a complete hysterectomy at age 27, major sleep issues over many years and continuing, have caused a lack of interest in exercise, now age 48, I have been very sedentary for 5-6 years and believe I have advanced sarcopenia. I lost almost 30 lbs about 5 years ago when I started doing elimination diets. I suspicions I have accidentally created a eating disorder in the process of trying to figure out what foods are problematic.

    I am doing intermittent fasting, or One Meal A Day(OMAD) so it's hard to get as much protein as is recommended.
    But I do eat eggs, steak, goat milk cheese, bone broth(it's all protein), and some bacon.
    I'd say it's 80 grams of animal protein daily. All organic and grass-fed.
    This was a good interview!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @althe
      @althe 2 года назад

      @@carboraider5472 Veganism is definitely about what you eat as well as what not allowed to eat. Same with carnivores. Except veganism is not about health at all, as it lacks many essential nutrients that carnivore does have and also has continual digestive issues - gas - because it's eating all the wrong stuff. Plus it eats all the toxins in plants, causing autoimmune disease. Why do vegans do that, because Veganism is an ideology - it follows the woke crowd to be with that self-satisfied in-group. I was vegan for ten years, but escaped the ideology.

    • @althe
      @althe 2 года назад +1

      Yes it is difficult. You only really process 40 grams of protein at one time, then need to wait about three hours. Might try a second dose of 40 gram protein (about 100 grams of steak). Even then still not at the 100 gram or so minimum daily protein level - but it's closer. You will feel good so maybe don't need 100 grams. Or maybe do three 40 grams protein meals in about seven hours. Even if do not completely use more than 30 grams the excess aminos will be used elsewhere.

    interesting video. regarding the recommendation for 1.2 grams of protein per kilo of body weight: is the weight basis for an individual's their ideal weight or their actual weight? for example, if someone is overweight (e.g. myself), would i use my actual weight for calculating the 1.2 gram protein/kilo, even though some of that body weight is body fat? thanks.

      Look up Gabrielle Lyon and podcasts featuring her. Muscle and protein expert. Try hydrolysed collagen powder which you can put in coffee or whey protein...also branched chain amino acids and have steak for breakfast! Look up keto or carnivore ways of eating...Paul Saladino is good. Try 1kg dumbells and leg weights or have a session with a good physiotherapist who could advise on exercise. Red meat for the win!

    Vegetarian proteins please

    • @althe
      @althe 2 года назад

      Vegetable proteins are terrible. They're not complete nor are they bioavailable, like beef is. Amaranth is supposedly a complete vegan protein superfood for example. Nope, the aminos are in the wrong proportions, so you'd have to eat 7 cups to get a complete protein. Vegans are all about trickery to conform to their ideology. They continually fool themselves. They say, "Listen to your body." If they did, they'd hear lots of gas. That means horrific digestion, it means you are doing it wrong. That's what daily bloating means - you are doing it wrong. Should be obvious.

    We can fight sarcopenia.
    It doesn't matter if you workout, the 100% Raffaele at 25 years old will be different from the 100% Raffaele at 40 years old.
    Raffaele will lose some muscle, especially in his upper pec and legs and his waist will be larger.

    very frustrated in this video u guys didnt talk about anything that is out there being used every day, bc every city in usa and canada has doctors who specialize in anti aging who have many new treatments for aging and muscle loss, its like u did not even know about these, at the very least over the counter melatonin, alpha lipoic acid, fish oils, dhea, sam-e, etc etc there are dozens not to mention that main stream med is embracing TRT all the time now. Come on professor u can do much much much better than this, all u said was eggs meat, also if someone had any or all those co morbidities then thier kidneys would be weak and their kidney doc would be saying do not eat protein .8 , so how do u make peace with that. why did u not talk about the hyperbaric oxygen chambers, i was in toronto few years ago and i saw a hyperbaric oxygen chamber at a mini mall in north toronto in upscale neighborhood, dont u even notice the modalities that are right in your city? i wanted to go into that hyperbaric oxygen chamber biz but did not have time, now many researches for example israel say they have done great science around hyperbaric oxygen chambers and anti aging

      Because Stu is trying to give you natural ways to fight back against it, he is not here to provide you synthetic and artificial hormones or any sort of magic pills. If you are too lazy to do the work and want to rely on magic pills like TRT then go ahead. But don't expect everyone to be as lazy as you or as willing to inject synthetic hormones into their bodies as you are.
