As a trans woman that radio scene was rough, but still was nowhere near as bad as the kind of things I’ve seen online and in the UK media. It’s gotten so bad that healthcare is being stripped away from trans children here and a trans teenage girl, Brianna Ghey, was murdered last year. That radio scene touched (relatively gently) on something that is sadly a very very important topic right now. I really appreciate you and Morgan’s reactions to it.
Same for me. I have watched many reactions and still I could never watch the scene itself, only the reactors' thoughts on what was happening. But I still got the general idea and hell, does it piss me off. I have a trans friend who has been in therapy, and his first therapist didn't use the right pronouns or his chosen name and it seriously affected my friend. I was so happy when he found a new one who was kind and understanding and he finally got the help he needed. He's now in a safe place, but gosh, I still want to find that first guy and punch him in the face.

You were talking about self confidence and all that and how, when you really break it down, those thoughts are really ridicoulous. I've been struggling with my mental health for almost 4 decades now, and although I've gotten so much better through therapy and the help and support of my loved ones there are still times I struggle a lot. I'm currently clawing my way out of a series of bad days, trying to practice self-compassion and remembering that when I do see myself in such an awful way (too lazy, too much of a burden, too fat, undeserving...) I'm really being ridicoulous because I know better and I objectively know that these thoughts are just lies. Heartstopper really helped me with that, and so does every single word of encouragement, compassion and understanding. I find a lot of these things in your reactions, and they really, really help, so thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I just wanted to let you know and I do hope that you get what I mean. I hope you get better soon!
Charlie got that liquid courage and the freak came out lol and it’s also great at the beginning Nick heard him playing the drums since earlier in the season with Charlie dealing with all this he had stopped playing so that also represents him being in a better place mentally and Tori was wearing the sweatshirt Michael showed up in
Huh oh I’m not trans (im lesbian)and I don’t know anyone through any of my friends that are transgender but my lesbian heart hurt for Elle in the radio talk scene. After watching Morgan’s reaction to this episode I’m worried on how Elijah is gonna take it. I think it’s bull crap on how transgenders are getting treated at the moment because I know trans are going through a lot at the moment in the uk and i honesty feel for them all.

The probable devolopment of Imogen and Sahar relationship is a crush blossoming into a friendship. Imogen is probably lesbian since the lighting in the last episode of the previous season were the colors of the lesbian flag, she probably is dealing with hetcomp. I think she will find a partner only at the ending of the series and what we will see will be her journey of self discovery without being romance/sex focus.
Charlie comes across like he has body dysmorphia not dysphoria. body dysmorphia (BDD)is a mental health disorder where a person obsesses about flaws in there appearance- they can be real or imagined- but they fixate on it - it is common for it to show up with EDs- Charlie also has self harm scars that he is scared of nick seeing- which is still tied to the dysmorphia. the way the subtle transphobia was presented I thought was done well- a lot of times when people are being transphobic they think they are being an ally and can word their transphobia in a way that to some people (mainly cishets)can come off as fine and not seen as transphobic when in reality what they said and or did was very transphobic. I was speaking/yelling into my computer to Elle to leave, walk away and leave. Geoff is such a good depiction of a really good therapist!
I don’t exactly consider myself trans, but I’m non-binary and I have a lot of trans friends. My stepmom has said a lot of weird things about trans/genderqueer people, making me feel unseen and invalidated, so that radio scene really resonated with me.

Honestly all this episode was so emotional in many ways, especially since last year I been in therapy again since my teens, also I love these kids, they are such cute and wholesome friend group. The radio scene hurt me so much and make me so uncomfortable, the thing is I'm not trans, but I'm latina aroace artist, and you have no idea how... Cruel the "debates" are here about LGTB+ issues, or any type of "basic human righs" talk. Like the existence and safety of people shouldn't be a "theme" or "trent" or whatever, Ohhhh and the bathroom talk I HATE IT THAT! WTF?! PEOPLE NEED TO GO TO BATHROOM! Since when a bathroom sign have stopped a someone from hurting another human? Even from us, I mean soy chilena, that "fear" is like paranoid and stupid, here crime is raising and we know that this "policing bathroom crap" is a total stupidity. Here is very common that parents of different gender enter the bathroom with their little kids, or adults enter with theirs grandparents/elder parents/relatives with disabilities. Denial of a basic right is very frown here, heck even in supermarkets/stores/schools when one gender bathrooms are broken, they allow the use of the other, like unisex bathroom.
as a non-binary person, I personally think the tv radio host was well-intentioned; she just went about it the wrong way. (I understand why people got mad though and I do feel bad for elle. I just think the radio host wasn't educated on the subject and accidentally offended elle but wasn't trying to be malicious about it.)
It annoys me when people make fun of Nick and Charlie asking for consent because this episode really highlights why it’s so important. Charlie was trying to carry on but Nick could clearly see he wasn’t actually comfortable. I’m glad this show drives it home how important consent is!
Fun fact, the scene with nick and charlie in the beginning when they were fighting and when they made up in the flashback was actually improvised by Kit and Joe!
I will say it’s quite amusing to see Charlie flirty when he’s drunk, that would be me. But in case of Elle.. I felt so angered by the fact when she was interviewed, they didn’t focused in what mattered, her ART. Not about the political aspects, because we are who we are and we don’t have to get into all that mess that the world wants to provoke, I felt bad for her. I’m glad she just got out of there.
