25 Sep 2021 I like to record my sincerest appreciation here to you tete quiros for taking the initiative, time and effort in posting these two tracks, conjoined as they are in the studio's master recording, as a further vehicle in promoting their reach, especially seeing as how the album itself was such an underappreciated production . I believe no one else on YT (I may be mistaken though) has executed a similar act in this regard. As a lifelong aficionado of The Fabulous Bee Gees, I'm ashamed to not have appended my sentiments much earlier on your comments page here, having occasionally ventured to your upload site over the years. Apologies indeed. Well, better late than never I suppose. The magic of music of course lies in its ability to instantly transport the listener to times past, especially when one is in the happy throes of nostalgic yearnings. Truly, the experience, particularly when in the company of like-minded contemporaries and having largely similar growing-up encounters and episodes, is sublimely heavenly. Of course along with the sepia-tinged happy recollections must also be the unavoidable mentions, even if in more subdued tones, of less-than-welcome incidents and events of one's tramplings on the grand carpet of life. That's okay, if one learns not to sweat any more the small stuff. "Mr Natural" the album came out in 1974, inhabiting and ingratiating itself forever into my adolescent period. I recall vividly being alone in the darkened bedroom, perched on a high stool, playing the LP between the hours of 7.30 pm and 8.30 pm in my family's erstwhile rental housing unit at Queen's Crescent, Singapore (long demolished), while my siblings were doing their dinner / homework in the living room. Life may not always be a bed of roses granted, but with the wisdom of hindsight, I must confess that the pluses outnumber the minuses on balance. If only Father Time would allow for the rewinding of the clock. Sigh..... Technically, unless I'm mistaken again, this is possibly the only time that the Bee Gees allowed for two songs to merge as a single output (their lifetime's oeuvre numbers more than a thousand recordings, the vast majority of which were tentative demos, outtakes and discards which never made the final cut). The three standout highlights are of course the exquisite change in tempo for "Throw a Penny" midstream; the breathtaking seamless bridge between the two tracks; and indisputably the repeated single-line chorus which closes "Down the Road", ending with a definitive stop (and not a fade-out). Whew! What would I not give to be the maestros of music-makers in my next life! It's somewhat a downer that so very few listeners are penning their responses to this upload. Nonetheless, I hope you will never take down this recording.That would be sacrilegious! As a very humble request, if you are up for it, maybe you could upload the entire album "A kick in the head is worth ten in the pants", that enigmatic set of recordings which were never released commercially I believe. Another instance of the music industry's woeful oversights I maintain. Once more, my inestimable heartfelt gratitude to you, tete quiros, for this opportunity to travel the light fantastic back to a period of intimate boyhood joys and wonderment. Absolutely priceless!
Thank you very much for your concepts and we both have the same passion for music, especially that of the Bee gees, as far as I could inspect in YT I only found a vinyl version but the audio quality that is understandable is not very good. (sorry if my english is not good, but use google translator)

I need the dictionary's guidance too when I write in Chinese (Mandarin). My actual Mother tongue, the first language my late parents taught us siblings was Cantonese, a Chinese Dialect. Both my English and Mandarin were thus learnt in school. Please upload more songs that are your favourites, preferably from the late 1960s to the early '90s, if that is also your preferred era! @@joseda1969 28 Oct 2021 A quick, minor correction please to the point I made in paragraph 5 of my comments of 25 Sep 2021 above : In their "Life in a Tin Can" album, the first two tracks "I saw a new morning" and "I don't wanna be the one" are in fact recorded without a break, although the link is more mellow, soft organ music. The whole album never got much airplay on radio unfortunately and it did rather poorly in sales (What a travesty!). I actually called up the DJ once during a radio programme on Rediffusion (now-defunct cable radio station) sometime in the 1980s, requesting for one of the songs. He (I will withhold his name here) promised to check out his inventory to retrieve the record but till programme's end, my request was not fulfilled. I'm guessing it was not in his store of thousands of LPs (this was pre-Internet era). If you are motivated enough, you might want to upload the two tracks, as with "Throw a penny/Down the Road". Then, quite assuredly, you would be the first soul on RUclips to do so I earnestly believe. Thank you, tete quiros!

Indeed, when emotion takes over, releasing one's accumulated "layers", to give vent to one's suppressed "screams", the outcome is cathartic pleasure, for both singer and faithful fans. Otherwise the finished product can come across as mechanical, even lacking soul. This was the case when Michael Jackson performed in one of his live concerts in Bangkok, Thailand all those years ago. A Singaporean music reviewer who saw it live criticised "The Gloved One/The King of Pop" as merely going through the motions in his trailblazing dance moves that night, lacking his usual zip and "love" for his fans. Maybe he was tired out from his ongoing world tour. We will make room for human limits. Check out the whole "Mr Natural" album if you will. Different tempos for the different tracks. It's an exquisite ride, guaranteed. Thanks.
