I was inspired by you! Our Goodwill here in Honolulu had some pallets up for auction. I won a misc pallet for $60. The picture showed two pairs of Nike shoes on the top so I figured why not. Man, was it a lot of work!!! 6 bags of trash and 3 bags to redonate, nothing spectacular but I should be able to make at least $200 profit on some shoes, clothing items and a few remotes.
Since I have been watching you tube for ideas I decided to try a few garage sales and Goodwill and after just a couple I managed to buy a bag of brand new Snap Back MLB .50c EA. Already sold 10@ 33$ 1 @45$. Bought 2 Sony CASSETTE, Receiver, DVD, BLU RAY. 22$. ALL are listed for over 300$ 5 pair Afghanistan Hot Weather army boots 14$. Dewalt radio and battery charger. 18$. Plus a bunch of smaller stuff. I got all this at 4 garage sales in 1 afternoon. Amazing what ppl are willing to part with for nothing. Now I actually own an investment firm, so I have to do this after work, its only become viable because of the virus I don't really need the money it's more the sport
Andirons. For the fireplace. They stand facing he room with the logs on them on fire. The science behind them is to provide circulation of air so the fire will burn well. When people had working fireplaces in their houses, everyone had these. My mother-in-law had some made of brass that were well polished .
oh and today my neighbour threw out 50 nintendo ds games lets say my fb marketplace has not stopped going nuts free turned into free cold hard cash i love your pallets im like hooked
Harry really enjoy the show. It’s great to see you finding your stride. I been here since the beginning back when you use to go in lives and chat up your channel. I saw Hairy Tornado and thought why not. You should have a contest for a logo and do a Shirt run. I would get one.
Hey Hairy, I've been metal detecting for over 25 years and have found tons of items. Over 500 rings both silver and gold. Probably over $5,000.00 in change, etc., etc.. That Whites is an old one as you say. Its is from around 1990-2000. At the time I think they were going for close to $200.00. You should be able to get anywhere's between $75.00 -$100.00 for it. The news ones that are out now are so much better. I myself prefer Garrett Detectors. If you ever decide you want to detect, go to playgrounds, Elementary schools, beaches (dry sand only with that detector), High Schools and if you have any friends that own farm land, hit those after they have harvested their crop, I think you said your from South Carolina and if that is so, those farm lands, could hold civil war items and they are worth some $$$$. Even a civil war button can fetch around $20..00. Ok enough of me blabbing. Great video and it looks like you made some good $ for $40.00 investment. Take care. Your friend, Steve Bonds in Bay City, Michigan USA
@@janicelewis1691 Hey Janice, anywhere people gather. Try hitting school yards, around high schools, if you have a fairground those are great. Places that have fairs or the place where people go to see the fireworks. Next thing is do go to your local history museum or library and do research on old areas where people gathered. Swimming holes are Always a great area, cause people go swimming with their jewelry on and they lose it in the water. The last thing I will tell you is to get a name brand detector. Now I know there are a lot of people out there that use Bounty Hunters, but I have tried them and did not think there were that good at all. Garrett puts out a good beginner detector like that Garrett Ace 250. It goes for about $200.00 but you can easily make that back the first year if you keep at it. Learn your machine and know your tones. Higher sounding beeps are the good stuff compared to the dull beeps which are usually junk. And that last thing I will say is that if your not picking up nickels on your detector, then you will not find gold rings. So make sure your detector is picking them up by testing a nickel under the coil. Good Luck.
I haven’t heard of the brand Curtis Mathes since the ‘80s. They made console tv’s and their slogan was : Curtis Mathes, the most expensive television sets in America and darn well worth it.
Whites is one of the very best detectors made -sadly Covid is forcing them out of business-The Classic II is an oldie but if it works will still bring you more than your pallet cost. If I were you, I’d keep it and go treasure hunting!
I have the model one up from the White's you have and it was from early 2000's. It cost about $600 at that time. You were lucky you had the battery holder because they get lost. I still use it as a back up. It is still an excellent metal detector if it was not abused. It looks like you have the standard loop and one is listed for $150 on ebay. If you had a deep scan loop then the asking price is $300 on ebay and mecari. When I looked up the fireplace irons it looked like you sold them for 78 on a Worthpoint record. Cast iron sold for 150 on a sold ebay record but the brass are asking 250 if you throw out the low and the high.
I know I'm posting this quite a while after the video was made but I'm big into detecting and if you're finding square nails from your yard you should look in your yard. You don't have to find a special place to go if there's old stuff there you'll find it. Also people don't realize it but old houses and old Properties or probably the best places to go with people lost coins and old toys and jewelry there. I had quite a few whites I still have one but I have a Minelab Equinox now good luck metal detecting and by the way of course I'm also a picker and have my own eBay business and you're doing a great job with the pallets
Watching you and your wife larping in the goodwill parking lot is couple goals I was chuckling. I once on FSU campus after a night of drinking saw a 4v4 larping session that was being taken very seriously and I will never forget it hahahaha
Now that buying pallets seem to be a regular thing, you should bring a bunch of rubbermaid containers, so you don’t have to just pile everything loose in the bed of your truck. Then when you get home you can easily unload the containers right into your garage.

With the discovery of the hand made historical nail, I'd be tempted to keep it for w while to check my whole yard for real treasure, old coins, etc. Civil War military buttons, etc. Have an at home adventure with Haley.
I don't know about their DVD players but Curtis Mathis made very high end TVs. I believe they were the last American made TVs. That could be a nice score!
I can’t believe the awesome stuff you find at goodwill. I only have a few around me but never find anything great. I am thinking about driving up to your yard sale. I live in central Florida, shouldn’t take that long to get there.
It seems the pallets are the real only thing affordable for bulk buying, GW getting so much inventory, not enough floor space. Online auctions are to high, due to new people jumping in due to pandemic.

My dad and his friends were really into metal detecting in the 70's. Found some old coins in the playground of an old elementary school. Best thing it was used to find was my sister's diamond earring that was an engagement present, lost in our friend's thick Bermuda grass.

Those brass figures (soldiers?) andirons / fire dogs may be the most valuable find in that box. Good luck
The and irons r placed both facing the same direction. Let us know what they sale 4. OK?
