I’ve done the same decorating as you for 30 years I see this all the time difference being after it’s filled and rubbed down and coated I get a led light on the walls and second fill or even third fill before finishing

Just come back off holiday, and the plasterer has made a poor job on my ceiling while i was away. I paid him before i left and wouldn't have him back in my house, let alone work on it again. It's not as bad as that job, and it's just the ceiling he did on my house. I will finish it off after watching your video. im sure i can sort it myself. Thanks for posting this video. It's put me at rest now

I was in the loft and fell through the ceiling, patched it up, and i didn't want to pay a pro to skim, went to Wickes for some ready mixed stuff, and that is the first and last time i ever try to plaster it looks a mess... However your video has just showed me how I can sort it out, it's only about 1 meter square, I've got some toupret at home I'll try that as well. Good video mate straight into it ...

Toupret is the stuff ! I used some from wickes the fast set version to repair a leak damage hole and it was pretty good 👍

im just finishing a college course in plastering. and even my finish is better on walls and angles. not tried a ceiling yet but im sure if i used extra time in my mix id have it sorted. problem is alot of plasterers talk the big bolocks about how many bags they can throw on in a day, yes in new builds or paid by the meter work but in domestic your charging a price and it needs to be mint so take your time get it right. nice finish tho.

@@Instone09ine thank you. I'm hopeful of fixing the walls but I've also been left with a bumpy, wavy ceiling after a skim over artex. Do you think that can be salvaged by a painter decorator or is it better just to reboard and skim?

    • @Instone09ine

You could try coating it with matt finish it might not be as bumpy as you think once its painted.

I've got those Textured type walls where they use that funky roller on your walls, I know that the guy who bought the house was in a hurry to flip it. An his make ready guys messed up so many times. They raised the master bath floor but didn't add anything around the toilet to make it right busted the Counter top in 2 big places lol ! It's something my Son can help me with. I really am watching this 1 because I like your style an 2 is to learn how to do this the right way. Thank you for Sharing this Video on making things right.❤😂rr
