  • I have a few SATA drives that I wanted to extract data from. I gave the BENFEI USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter a try to assist in the process.

    Hello guys, I have one problem. I have recently bought the cableexpert USB to IDE/SATA adapter cable, which was previously under gamebird. I have tried it with 2,5" IDE laptop hdd - worked, then with 3,5" IDE and 3,5" SATA HDD with the external power supply from the box - worked, but when I connected to the power supply 2,5" SATA HDD it did not turn on. I used the external power supply from the box, I connected the molex to sata power cable as in the case of 3,5" SATA HDD, but it just did not power up.

      Hi Ahmed. I'd try the adapter on another usb port. Then try using a known good drive and the adapter. to see if it was the drive. If it's the drive you may need to check the disk for errors.

    Looking for an adapter for my 4inch SATA hard drive. Any suggestion?

      Hi Maitroung. Hmm.. That's an odd size. Common sizes for HDDs are 2.5, 3.5 and 5.25 inches. Could your drive be 3.5 inches?

      Hi Amber Valentine. Yes, If you're only accessing 2.5inch drives, the additional power adapter is not required.

    what do you do if it connects you can hear the windows sound but I cannot find the har drive?

      @BIsForBudget  4 месяца назад

      Hi Gobey1Kenobi. That's odd, I'd open up Disk Management and see how the drive appears there. (can you add or modify the drive letter, was it formatted with another file system/Windows Storage Spaces etc) Can you try attaching it to another computer?
