The B580 is most definitely welcomed. Reviewers are stating it's the new champion for 'budget' GPU/gaming but that's conditioning from the duopoly's past years of gouging us. I hope this starts a run of foxes in the coop.

@maxweinbach3996 I support Intel by buying their gpus and building budget pcs for people that would never do it themselves. They just pay me for the parts and I do it in my free time
As much as there was great flat out performance against the 4060 it was to me more impressive that it was encroaching on the 3070 when price compared. It seems like a very nice card and a worthy step in the right direction. Hats off to the team for their work on this.
It's awesome to see more competition in GFX cards market. I think Intel has a big opportunity capture some market share if they can provide gamers with some additional competitive cards. An example would be to release a B780 model (or whatever their top model number is) that would cost around $500, but could chase (matching isn't realistic) the 7900xt and 4070 TI Super for performance. Doing that while beating them on price by $100 to $200 will give them a big advantage. There's a huge amount of market share that's available at the $500 price point, but the current cards just don't offer the value at the price and that where Intel can give the Duopoly a serious black eye.
I like how we saw little glimpses of potential greatness in their first cards with the ray-tracing performance. And now we're seeing it start to flourish 🙌🏽 Great time to be a PC enthusiast. Can't wait to see their big cards!
I expect to do a build with this card, but will wait until after the holidays and CES. I’ve been waiting and almost went with an A series. I want to support another competitor in this space, but didn’t want to go through first generation growing pains. Now looks to be the time to jump in!
The stability looks much better. Still may have newly released games not running great for a few days until the driver comes, possibly a setting or two that causes strange performance (x3D CPUs with the b580 in Cyberpunk RT ultra). But comparing to the alchemist launch, it's night and day.
I'll wait and see what else Intel has in store for this generation. Imagine if they do a 1.5x or 2x of the B580, with 16 (or 18? if it's 1.5x...) and 24 GB of VRAM, it's going to be amazing.
Yeah, it looks decent. Yeah, when I bought my 4070, I was not really happy but had a very specific use case. Hopefully, competition at this level will move standards up, i.e., moving away from 8gb cards in this sector as well push good value for money and get nvidia 60 amd 700 series of performance for a decent price. Well done, Intel. decent work for 2nd generation
Even at $250, that's tempting to pick up just to see how well they perform. I had a 1080ti and now have a 4080 Super and want to see what Intel can really make. While I'm outside of the current target price point, I can definitely see the value these cards are going to bring especially for new pc builders and lower spec builders.

That’s since gone away. My other rig is 7900XTX but it’s a 4k living room rig. If the B700 series comes out and is solid I will go for it. I’m tempted to do B580 just to have but idk.

I mean their auto-guess location or whatever feature (no, not on a VPN either) just disregarding actual settings is nuts. An algorithm shouldnt be able to decide these things.
When you don't have to go with a budget GPU it's easy to ignore how much this matters. I don't have the fastest GPU, (7900 XT) but I have caught myself laughing at the 4060. If someone on a budget can get a 4060, or an Intel GPU that lets them get the best bang for their buck, it does matter. The real growth in the hobby doesn't happen at the top end. I think AMD has realized that but so has Intel.
I don't think it has anything to do with the tier, but with the price, I would still be running my GTX 1080 if it didn't die, and that's a pretty much a top of the line card, but I only spent 250€. Then again, when it died I had to spend 630€ in a RTX 3070, that still only has 8GB or VRAM. So yeah, they either ramp up the performance of mid-tier, or lower down the price on the top-tier.

As someone playing WoW Classic on a 10-year-old PC and considering upgrading the hardware, this could hit the sweet spot between performance and price. I am very interested in this, to be honest.
That PCIe 4x8 connection (and matching chipset and components) probably helped keep that price down. I spent the full day trying to convince a friend of mine to upgrade to one, but then realized that his MB only as PCIe 3 x 16 connector so....

I'm tempted to get one of these b580's just for the sake of having a770le and b580le
With the price of more expensive higher-end cards, I would expect the whole thing to be compression-attached with the heatsink being used as the pressure-mounting solution compression attachment needs, so if the VRAM goes bad I can just replace it myself and if there ever is a newer die compatible with the PCB through firmware, replace that rather than buying new cards outright.
I was honestly rooting for Moore Threads if they could just spin up an American subsidiary; however they may be named, and produce something competent; whatever that may be. @RatreoTumips-ig8lg not true. 2080 was about on par to a 3060 Ti. There was a leap in the 3000 series that was notable. But the 4000 series was a f****ing joke and spit to the face.
All current gen cards should have been 12 GB to start at the low end, and been 16 GB mid range. The fact that there were 8 GB 4060 cards was legit a joke.
This I agree with in 2024. Perhaps in a laptop it makes sense for 8GB VRAM cards but not for a desktop. And not at their pricepoints.

I'm considering building a small PC to park at my mom's house, and Intel just made it onto the list of potential parts to get. Impressive stuff, Intel.
Of course that will never happen😂
This is honestly huge, if they release a bigger scaled card with the same architecture, it will be an actual high tier build contender now.
This is supposedly already a nearly 4070Ti-sized die, so I’m not sure how much room there is to scale it up more.
I think they are still planning on releasing their 700 series of B cards, so B750 and B770, which one can imagine will blow some other cards out of the water, if the B580 is anything to go by.
Or maybe I'm wrong, but it would be great to see some competition.
@bearde_mut9731 They could theoretically do a 40 Xe core version, but doubling the cores and bus and everything would result in a nearly 4090-sized die with the yield and cost issues that come with such a large chip.
Tripling it to 60 Xe cores would be beyond TSMC manufacturing limits.

The B580 is most definitely welcomed. Reviewers are stating it's the new champion for 'budget' GPU/gaming but that's conditioning from the duopoly's past years of gouging us. I hope this starts a run of foxes in the coop.

Newegg had a super good promotion on the A770 for like $280 and this card has blown me away.
Thank you for your sacrifice

I think Intel should definitely take a long look at their GPUs and try to replicate that in their CPUs, that being said I think expecting poor Pat to turn around a ship shareholders have spent years to destroy around in four years is kinda unfair
Unfortunately that just doesn't translate, otherwise AMD would be leading in GPUs too, with how well they turned their CPU business and how much experience they have in the GPU market.
The future is integrated graphics and SFF power efficient systems. Desktop PCs will be relegated to workstations in a few years. We already integrated sound, networking, and all the other IO addin cards, why not gaming graphics?

When you don't have to go with a budget GPU it's easy to ignore how much this matters. I don't have the fastest GPU, (7900 XT) but I have caught myself laughing at the 4060. If someone on a budget can get a 4060, or an Intel GPU that lets them get the best bang for their buck, it does matter. The real growth in the hobby doesn't happen at the top end.

Man this is seriously impressive progress in such a short time! if intel doesn't offer a higher spec, a770 type card on this new architecture, I'm going to be really disappointed... so much potential to shake up the market properly.. I'm tempted to get one of these b580's just for the sake of having a770le and b580le
1080p being the most common res surprises me. i ditched 1080p when the gtx 1080 came out and havnt looked back.
But Intel being the third horse which comes from behind to not only stem their hemorrhaging reputation, but also provide a _solid_ entry-level choice every game _sort of_ supports already with a buff to Xe / HD Graphics is a welcome substitute. Perhaps for CPU stuff, Intel can sort out 15th gen production too.
If only I could actually buy one. They all seem to be for pre-order in the UK with no delivery date listed.
Looking forward to the big ones!
3:42 ah yes, Tom from gamers nexus, not to be confused with Steve and Steve from Hardware Unboxed
nice seeing the maxon render glitch lol noticed immediately that it was in fact the most replayed part of the vid lmao
As long as they keep up with the driver optimizations it should do very well for people on a budget.
