I was just thinking of how Pete was in fine voice on this track. Then I thought about how his voice would have matured over the coming years to sound even better. So sad that we'll never know. Such a loss.
Wow, stunningly beautiful to hear after 50 years...such a shame Warner Bros couldn't see a remix of this Pete Ham hit Single with an engineer like Eddie Kramer (during the 70's) and plug some holes in Sinking Badfinger management deal... Thank you so very much Pete Ham Estate, Bob Jackson, Andy Nixon, Tom Brennan & Rich Ulloa of Y&T Music for releasing a Head First on Vinyl , CD and also available on digital platforms
@@Badfinger-m5v The 2000 release was a CD of the 1/4" tape stereo rough mixes from 1974. This release has been officially remixed and mastered for the first time using the original multitracks recorded in 1974 at The Beatles' Apple Studios. Available on Vinyl, CD and Digital Download.
So moving to hear Pete Ham's incredible voice again on a true Badfinger classic song! Sending some prayers out to Joey Molland who is having some health issues right now
The mix this song needed. Born too late to meet the original band, but born at the right time to experience this album. Glad to be a part of the community, God bless badfinger.
After a long crappy day, I'm sitting here with a huge smile on my face. It sounds so much better now. Thank you Pete and the boys, and everyone who helped this get it's deserved release.
I remember hearing Bad Finger on KHJ 93 AM Boss Radio in SoCal when I was a kid. They helped make me a Rock fan! Big time! I never knew I was going to miss that.
Yes! One of my favorite bands of all time is back with, in my opinion, the best song release of 2024! This knocks it out of the park! Can’t wait for December 13th. Thanks Bob Jackson and Y&T Music for this labor of Badfinger love! Cheers, Matt Street 🎼🎶🎵❤️🍻
Funny that this is finally officially seeing the light of day with a proper mix. I emailed with Bob Jackson a decade or so ago asking if it would ever come out. It made it. Thanks Bob. I have the vinyl version preordered and can happily replace the crappy Snapper version on CD
It seriously sounds like a rerecorded version. So much better! The instruments are perfect as everything is. What a PERFECT mix!!! Thank God Bob that you found the master tapes. What a HUGE GIFT! OH... I am throwing out my 2000 version.
@@AndyNixonHQ Awesome work Andy & Bob. a very nice surprise and early Christmas gift to the fans. Bless Pete, Tom, & Mike for giving more then they should have with Bob back in December 1974... Great remix! Wow!!! RUclips Music needs to get this album uploaded ASAP!! I'm definitely going to get this album on vinyl. Very impressed with the sound. Much clearer than the Head First CD released back in 2000.
That letter f in the Badfinger logo looks like the dynamic symbol for Forte or Loud and Strong - perfect. That is the way this music should be played for max. e ff ect.
This sounds incredible! What an unexpected treat. So did they actually locate the masters? This sounds so much better than the 2000-era) CD release. Can’t wait! Long live Pete Ham and the boys.
Coming up with gems like this one after another only for them to be neglected and underpromoted by the people he trusted in business. No wonder Pete Ham became despondent about his life. But the music lives on.
I wish Joey was a part of this Album sad what happend to this brilliant Band... they should have let Joey add some guitar to the album to make it a true Badfinger album
He's been known to file suits for the most odd reasons. The song "Without you" is a prime example. He had nothing to do with that song yet, he filed a lawsuit in order to get royalty money. In fact, I think that he was successful.
I think, from what I have read, there was a pact between all four band members that proceeds would be evenly split. But to me it sounds that maybe songwriting royalties were an exception. (As in that the even split included gigs, performance royalties and the like). My theory is that provisions of what was covered in that pact were unwisely not spelled out, and that led to a difference between Tom (royalties only to the writers) and Joey (royalties to all four). Possibly a very unfortunate misunderstanding.😂
50 years on and we finally get to hear this gem of a song . God knows what we lost when we lost pete ham 😢
So good. These boys deserved better than they got.
I couldn't agree more!

The monster Badfinger hit that the world never heard.... until now!🔥
Well... HeadFirst was first posthumously released in 2000. But this re-issue has been cleaned off and polished up nicely! 😊

Great stuff...about time we had some Power Pop again 🤩👌.
One of Pete Hams most energetic honest and powerful masterpieces, the sound of an era that never was!

From the “Head First” album. It was released a number of years back. A great song and the album is great too.
Sounds brilliant. Love this band. They were special.

Wow, I had never even heard of the Head First album until today. What a nice surprise!

Wow! Amazing what a proper mix can do for an already great tune!!! Huge noticeable difference and I’m just listening on an iPhone!
Great to hear that!

So much talent! I wonder who produced this record?
Sister golden hair 😂😂
When is this album being released? Here we are one week from the announced date and it's still not available.
No idea. I ordered through Amazon and it’s delayed?
🐻👍️✨️👏👏👏😀
Is there any word on when this album will be available for streaming services?
@name-ky7 A lot of people don't even have the means to play physical media anymore. So I'm definitely hoping for a digital release.
@name-ky7 tiktok especially is a great way to reach younger fans.
Will a CD be released?
Yes, it's Digipak format with 16 page booklet.
@@timcarter7833 do you know when CD is available in USA??
No links on Amazon or US retailers yet...?
Thank you Andy!!

That would destroy what was recorded 50 years ago. I’m glad the left what was done at that time. He could have played on it but he quit the band
Expect a lawsuit from Joey. For what reason you ask??? Don't know but I'm sure he will find one.
He didn’t even play on this album

Good but the intro isn’t necessary. It chokes the melody that follows.
