I just started playing Day Z about 2 weeks ago, maybe, and I gotta say, after reading reviews and not thinking I'd enjoy it. I absolutely love this game.
"Aviators still make you 100 times cooler" GOAT 👍🏼 PS: Only a few things to be corrected or added: - Whilst most items can be crafted by having one ingredient in your hands and the other in the inventory, the stone knife can only be crafted if one small stone is on the ground and the other in the hands (many ppl struggle for a few seconds because they don't know about it); - Infected can run through player built fences but not gates; - You can loot dead players inside a car only that it just doesn't work sometimes and that is the actual bug. Cutting open players is just more efficient for looting; - Bloody hands can be washed at water pumps and also the blood can be washed off from any container with enough liquid to wash it off, including soda cans; - Infected "distraced" by thrown items will always find the source (player) unless the player moves away from the position where the item had been thrown; - A firefighter axe will also one hit kill a zombie if hits in the head, unless the zombie has a certain class of head protection (certain helmets) also a machete will one hit kill a zombie with the sprint power hit if hits in the head; - To relight the fire players must add in kindling to the fireplace and then blow; - If a zombie is chasing a player turning around and punching to slow it down is invalid since we lose stamina from punching and we'll have to deal with the zombie sooner or later and the sooner the better to avoid multiple zombies; - Logging out and exit is the way to free yourself from stuck animations (in some cases is useful to get into bases when stuck in a window or door/gate). 🤝🏽
Another thing: I’ve shot at activated land mines and I’ve never had them detonate before. Also using a shovel doesn’t detonate them either. Best thing to do if you come across a land mine? Go around lol

I waited until I knew they had definitely gone and instantly thought oh shit how am I going to get past that mine I put covering the door? I shot it with a kolt 1911 and boom it blew up and I was able to get out. mines do detonate when shot at.
Nah, the problem are the lack of food and the so little chance of finding a gun, I know that we need to go further, but man, I usually walk 15 mins straight and I cant find a single pistol
@@97carrera 15 min is not a very long time to expect a gun tbh unless you get lucky. i think a gun every 15min would be too much. i find more guns than i do food. i think food is way too rare
@@97carrera i find guns fairly often, rn i have a vaiga shotgun, a sgk smg, and a rifle that i forgot the name of, my method is looting the military containers that spawn in dock areas, but food is usually the hardest part, hunting and fishing is the best way to get food
Freshspawn tip. Bullets are not the only way to explode gas station pumps. Just punch them and see what happens. Edit: What the hell, that's a lot of likes
I was having trouble getting my car started, I did everything you had to do to get the car to actually work. I spent 15 minutes trying to figure this out then I realised the car was in neutral.
big will sarka cars have only radiator in front so less chance of destroying battery, best to keep another rad with you and water just in case you glitch out freeze and crash so you can change over
In my experience everyone’s a dickhead lmao. I remembered asking someone for a sip of water because I was yellow thirst, then they knocked me out, put a bag over my head than did something that made me have 3 cuts and left me to bleed to death (this happened when I started btw)

Love the vids Rav! Have a suggested tip for Tracer Rounds and Hi-Cap mags, Load 3-5 tracers first in an empty mag and top off, this will give a visual indication of ammo status during a firefight.
Some things worth pointing out: -Disinfecting rags has no purpose as there is no illness from uncleansed bandages implemented. -The press vest is not as good as the plate carrier as the plate carrier has a lot more durability points so it doesn't ruin as quickly and can protect against more shots. -I believe drinking from ponds and rivers is now garunteed to make you sick. -Zombies will now path around player made fences but will still attempt to push through watchtowers and make it through sometimes. -Sewing kits will not cause an infection when used to stop bleeding because this sickness type is not implemented. -Disinfectant spray and tictures no longer remove cholera from containers they only disinfect the container.
Nr 1 tip to stay alive in DayZ is TRUST NOBODY!!! When I started playing I thought people would be friendly, collected loads of gear, first time I bumped into someone I got shot and killed. You have to understand that this game is not about being nice to other players. They will kill you and steal your stuff (that you spent hours collecting!!!). Treat it as a lone wolf game (unless you have friends playing with you).

tbh this content is actually really good not many dayz content creators do these types of videos anymore they kinda died out after modding came into the game but a lot of these tips are helpful. :)
Actually when approaching zombies, sprint crouching is really effective. you can still move at a jogging pace and not attract the zombies. you can sneak pretty close to them if you come from behind.
Great collection of tips, some of them I didn't know ;) I also recently discovered something myself whilst being set upon by two wolves out in the forest. They can't climb the stairs to the feed hopper huts, making them a perfect escape route.
I am pretty new at DAYZ never found rocks or fruit from a tree. Been a struggle. Been taken my time getting supplies in town i spawn at, not traveling far. then logging and coming back next day to loot more. That has been the most helpful thing for me so far. Finally can fight off more than one zombie...not many...two three most. I just cook my first meal (peppers, and logged). I seen only 2 other survivors ...that KOS one was made over my shitty mic...fun way to find out my mic didnt work lol thanks for tips
Although yes a lot of this is copied from a previous video he does state that he is simply compiling the tips into one video, very useful and I personally can hear everything said as clear as day so dunno what those complaints are about 🤷♂️ hope to come across you in the field Rav, I'm on xbox me and my crew have been fighting off attackers from our base for 3 days now and there still coming back lmao. Great pvp game also good pve if you wanna get lost in the wilderness and go all bare grills out there, one nice tip for fires in the wild, build a decoy fire and build them right next to a large bush so u can sit in the bush to cook food (if you cant find shelter) and if your struggling with food raid sheds and green houses for shovel seeds bottles, make a farm, live forever, just remember to de seed one piece of fruit for your next farm. keep up the good work Rav.
Hey man another trick that can be super useful, but you need 2 people. If u have 2 tents (car, canopy or medium) u can put one inside of the other and at the same time your friend has to pack the tent and it will make the other tent stay inside, helps a lot to save space in cars I do it all the time but in PS4 never actually tried it on PC but you might as well try it 😉

Im a ps4 too when I bought dayz I was new so im bad at the game I have problems with food and drink too and I started to join community servers. I recommend it to you too because you can find boosted server on community servers. I recommend luckylooters|Coast server to you I played on it and I reccomend it to you you can find a m4a1 and a sniper rifles and a lot of ammo hope you can join it I play on that server too we have a luck of crossing our path on that server bye
You def6want someone to meet up with or to talk you through trust me after being looted amd dying it's most likely gonna be a few trys before you make it again to good loot I recommend using community servers that are boosted to work on Pvp skills before going out in official on your own Good luck!

One thing I discoved is if you're being chased by wolves throw raw meat away from you and they will chase it. Raw meat will also attract wolves from miles around.
I noticed as I just started playing this game that it’s really hard to start off but once You get the hang of it u do just fine and what not and that every time i would respawn I would get a little further

Addition: Your shoes deteriorate based on what they are running on. Are you running through the woods all game to avoid any conflict? Well you are now forcing yourself to loot a town looking for new shoes because you failed to use any roads/trails. Stay safety out there Bean addicts!
@elijah mikle yeah i steer clear of the wellies for that reason, hiking boots are prob the best before you get military grade boots, especially the boots with the knife holder (combat boots)
Loading tracers every fifth round is only for firing on automatic. It is actually for machine guns. I didn't hear you mentioning that you can add an extra round to Repeaters now too. Cooking worms for warmth in your clothing is a good tip when you don't have other food to cook for warmth.
DayZ is so underrated, it’s easy to hate when you don’t have reliable mates and terrible loot in dire situations, keep looking, you only need comrades and then everything will be easier.
Just today I was in a town I had never been in. I looted the entire town and found a good bit of loot in it, I was gonna leave and I stepped into the exit of a house. I took a step past the door and got blown up by a mine. Didn’t kill me, just hurt like hell and knocked me out
I just got this game and I'm just mind blown at the amount of detail and realistic features they have that I didn't even know about.. are the same features on ps4?
0:47, wrong. The press vest is worse than the plate carrier by a lot. The plate carrier will absorb 60% of the damage while the press vest will absorb 30%. Also the plate carrier will protect more against melee and infected attacks. The only downside is that the plate carrier weighs 12000 grams vs the press vest which weighs 7000. So the stamina will be different.
You can't damage peoples guns by shooting them while they are holding them, they don't have hitboxes for bullets while held/holstered on the back. You can however damage them while they are lying around on the ground somewhere.
Powerlines don't always lead to towns. Some lead the edge of the map. Same goes with at least one sign in Livonia. It doesn't lead to any towns on the map.

I always prefer community, mainly because of modding but also allows you to contact admins incase of cheaters n such.

@elijah mikle not a bad idea, just don't pick flashy pairs. your feet move the most so it behooves you to not pick a bright color
@elijah mikle yeah i steer clear of the wellies for that reason, hiking boots are prob the best before you get military grade boots, especially the boots with the knife holder (combat boots)
put your head gear on your hot bar, when you meet a friendly player you can tip your hat.

Loading tracers every fifth round is only for firing on automatic. It is actually for machine guns. I didn't hear you mentioning that you can add an extra round to Repeaters now too. Cooking worms for warmth in your clothing is a good tip when you don't have other food to cook for warmth.

Main difference between press vest and plate carrier is ammount of hits before it gets ruined same with helmets they all offer nearly same protection!

DayZ is so underrated, it’s easy to hate when you don’t have reliable mates and terrible loot in dire situations, keep looking, you only need comrades and then everything will be easier.
Just today I was in a town I had never been in. I looted the entire town and found a good bit of loot in it, I was gonna leave and I stepped into the exit of a house. I took a step past the door and got blown up by a mine. Didn’t kill me, just hurt like hell and knocked me out

When you cut down the barrels on the guns does it affect how far/straight it shots, how much damage it does, or does it just affect length?
I'm pretty sure it affects range and accuracy, aside from that, you also lose the front sight

0:47, wrong. The press vest is worse than the plate carrier by a lot. The plate carrier will absorb 60% of the damage while the press vest will absorb 30%. Also the plate carrier will protect more against melee and infected attacks. The only downside is that the plate carrier weighs 12000 grams vs the press vest which weighs 7000. So the stamina will be different.

You can't damage peoples guns by shooting them while they are holding them, they don't have hitboxes for bullets while held/holstered on the back. You can however damage them while they are lying around on the ground somewhere.
Powerlines don't always lead to towns. Some lead the edge of the map. Same goes with at least one sign in Livonia. It doesn't lead to any towns on the map.

im fairly new, any tips for stashing items? i tend to get good guns and items and then die with it, id like to be able to bring my loot somewhere to keep it safe. do people generally use drypacks and wooden crates?
You can bury drybags under trees, always a great place to hide ur loot
You can also use soda to wash hands if in a bind
