It seems fine & it's still fun to me now but as all games are, they have golden days & I'm sure Day Z golden days r done with. The best times are in the past
The only times I've ever had REAL fun in this game is when playing with others. Meeting new people and having random adventures is where it's all at imo.

you can just walk slowly at the trip wire it wont explode, also you can attach the flare to the tripwire. you can also get the heatbuff by igniting the broom and walking with it around, then sitting by the fire ,the alarm clock also will make sound inside your inv or inside the inv of a dead player ,keep also in mind , that you need fresh blood to cure the zone sickness , if you take the blood inside the zone , it wont work.you can also just take the bones into your hands to make a bone knife.
How fresh is fresh could I just use blood from a old blood bag or do I have to get a fresh batch from a player?

You don't have to crawl, can just crouch walk through the tripwire
Alot of the pain when i started playing was knowing where i was, the tip of spawning when facing north, and clouds move east helped alot. me and my friends also learned the cyrilic alphabet so we can quickly say where we are, and with the isurvive website we are all set. Thanks.
Also sun rises in the east and sets in the west

Ill loot for hours before finding someone, and ill try to be friendly and theres a 80% im gonna get shot at or plotted against
The Aviators tip is something I’ve used since they came out! Always something to pick up.

They stop glare
After years of playing. It wasn't too long ago I found out you can light a piece of paper or rag to make a fireplace. No need to gather sticks to create a fireplace

Wow did not know you could crawl under a tripwire. Another good tip when it comes to using sewing kits to fix a wound, you can actually disinfect them to prevent wound infection.

Just wanted to add that whole chickens will go rotten within 24 hours, possibly sooner, even if stored out of inventory. And a sewing kit can be disinfected for suture if need be at least the last time I had to use one.
I love sewing kits
Bandages are good for gun fights, or when you have been unconn and bleeding
But Sewing kits and rags stack to 6 and bandages only stack 4
I can't tell you how helpful this is as a new player. I've learned more in 15 mins than 3 days of playing.

Filling barrels with fuel also having barrels on a truck gives you a moving fuel station (the barrels have to be in good condition blow torch fixes them)
you can use two car batteries to top the other up.
11:03 always weird seeing the bottom of Novo in other peoples videos
Me and a DayZ stranger turned friend, used to live in the two houses on that road after he showed me how bases were built, he put up a gate in the house next to his for me.
That was the start of many of our dumb adventures (usually him saving me from some dumb situation I put myself in)

Much appreciating the tips you have given, I'm fairly new to this game myself & have not found any players chill enough to make the game a better experience. Many times I've been getting killed on sight by other players on PvE servers.

The thing with o negative blood being universal donor means it's highly sought after as donation blood, a friend of mine was o negative and regularly donated blood, the one day he gets into a horrific accident they could not provide o negative blood and he is no longer with us, I'm not saying you shouldn't donate blood, just make sure it's done the right way
Note to self if I'm O Negative: collect my own blood randomly so I can have my own storage of blood in the event I need transfusion
@@bruhism173 just remember for the future that there's been many many glitches when it comes to blood, same type from a different player used to kill you, taking your own blood before you've identified your blood type and then using it would kill you, sometimes even using a bloodbath of your own o negative blood would kill you

I'd like to add that paramedic jackets and pants are also excellent gear for early game storage. 34 slots per.

Good tip for pvp. If you drop your gun thats on your shoulder using interaction menu and you put it back in your hands it wont make noise. If you ads while changing fire mode it also wont make a sound
It also dosent make sound if you use the vasinity tab to drop the gun, and shoulder it
Still useful if changing guns
Taking out the mag will trigger the noise every time 😂 🤦♂️ And you can hear a mag reload from a city block or more

I know this is a LOT to ask, because you already put so much work into these videos. But if you could timestamp a short reference/title to each tip in the description, I think viewers would appreciate. That way, they don't have to go back over tips they already know (except "aviators", because its always a "must relearn" tip lol gotta make sure to look cool.)

So what's the goal of this game nowadays? I remember having a couple friends that played this game a few years ago and they said it was just another survival looter shooter, but stopped playing because there wasn't much more to do in the game. Is it just looting, PvP, building a base, and making money at the traders? or is there something more to do in the game that I don't see.
It depends what you want to get out of the game as there are alot of community built servers that will satisfy different needs and playstyles. If you simply want a balanced pvp experience then vanilla servers are the way to go or lightly modded servers such as Spaggies. If you want player interaction and fun moments then there are RP servers which usualy have a no kill on sight rule which can lead to fun interactions and possibility of robbery. If you want a rambo type experience where you are a walking armory within minutes then there are heavily modded servers for that which usually have a high emphasis on traders, drug selling and base raiding etc.
I personally have over 4k hours in dayz standalone (and about the same in dayz mod for arma 2) and i now like to play on servers with pvp zones. I can loot in peace, have player interaction, build a base without being bothered and then when the bloodlust itch happens, i can go to the designated areas and kill :) I also prefer servers that have no traders as player to player trading is fun and encourages interaction. Oh and Namalsk is an adventure, do yourself a favour if you pick up the game make sure you play on that map!!
@@docdoc8556 I would prefer a PvE,and maybe a optional PvP area server mainly because my internet isn't the greatest and tends to be spotty on days, Thats the main reason why I dont play Tarkov. Also is there a way to set a respawn point do u dont have to run across the map after u die? or would that be part of a modded server?
@@GangsterBean247 depends on the server, sometimes its random but some servers allow you to choose your respawn point (usually north of the map if its namalsk). Most peole build their base up north so that if they do die, its a short jog back to base
Should be able to turn wire into barbwire with pliers, as well as vice versa.

Yeah would make sense!
Barbed wire usually has clasps on the pointed metal bits, clipping it together with the main wire. Your basically taking off the clasps and tossing them
But 2 wires should make a barbed wire, as you cut one down into clasps and barbs

The protective case keeps food fresh for loads longer than in inventory, crate, barrel or floor.
Protective cases ruin everything inside when they become ruined

Sun rises from the east and sets in the west. I always use it to figure out where am at after spawning or getting lost. Always helps getting orianted.
6:53 As of November 2023, clouds no longer head East. They spin around a circular skybox.
I own my private server since yesterday and i can say that it is more fun playing DayZ in your own private server. I play DayZ since the first time DayZ Mod Arma 2 with 670 hours on Dayz Standalone. And now when i own my server finally you don’t need to think that other players will kill you and take your stuff 😁 but still learned a lot new here from your video so thank you !
So basically you just removed the whole point of the game and all the funs that comes with it lol, I'm not judging (even tho I have no idea whats the point of playing alone on a 220 square kilometers map) but you should consider at least playing on a PVE server
What's up guys another quick tip to remember while you're playing DayZ a screwdriver can skin animals and gather bark from the tree so if you can't find a knife it makes a really good substitute

Put it in the yellow protective case and it will last 3 times as long.

5:30 Not sure if you said "infected, bears and wolves CAN or CAN'T attack you while in a vehicle", but I was never hurt by a zombie while inside a car. Bears and wolves - true, they can bite through doors, but infected are not able to do any damage.

I just started playing the stand alone and I’m so bad 😂 Back in Arma 2 DayZ mod I feel like it was so much easier to survive. I’m also playing on console and it’s so hard to interact with the inventory

One tip to add, if you get cut in gas zone take your mask off and pop a tetra, put your mask back on. You'll be fine.

Does anyone know how to stop getting a cold like every fix minutes even when I’m fully insulated and have the heat buff
you must have 4/5 stats white to prevent getting the cold naturally
If u have heat buff and fully insulated u shouldn't be getting a cold..I've been wet thru for about 45mins regularly and don't get cold..just make sure u always in the white with food..if my temp is blue for too long like more than ten mins I'll make a quick fire and sit by it til get heat perk then continue..it's worth ringing out any clothes u can if they wet thru/soaked too..if u can't make a fire for some reason and Ur temp blue simply take a vitamin. And keep taking til u can heat up..a quick heat up is run or hit (even when no one around to hit) do couple hits and it will rise for few secs..it's that temp tho that gives u cold. I've not had cold for an age..tho if u fresh spawn and wearing shite clothes and get wet u won't last more than ten mins before getting cold..so make sure the clothing is full or med insulation even when wet thru this still counts..also never run anywhere without gloves and face covering even if u only have hand made rag ones. They conserve a good amount heat even when wet and u can wring both out if soaked. Don't remove ruined clothing if soaked ,instead cut at least two small firewood logs ( not sticks) 3 and more is best , chuck on fire and stand close as can, I stand til pain then pull back little. They will dry fairly quick...they won't dry with sticks or one firelog. Hope this helps u in Ur quest to be cold free .
Also something forgot to say ..if it's pissing it down with rain, the heaviest I find it's best time to go out to hot zones as it covers Ur noise ,zombies lugger about oblivious of u even when close to them , but to help out with temp it's best to kill a chicken or other animal , or fish or just get mushrooms or potatoes etc..cook them on a fireplace (not at outdoor fire) with grating best or a frying pan on a gas heater..and cook up some food then put the food in all clothes. Put the frying pan in jacket too for extra chunk of heat...then u can happily run around for an hour regardless of conditions outside.

The biggest difference between rust and dayz is that if you trust someone in rust, you get double barreled to the back of the head, but if you trust someone in dayz if you trust someone you get loads of fun adventures and a friend for life

chicken carcasses themselves don't rot. BUT, after a set amount of time the actual food you can harvest from the chicken will be rotten if you don't eat it soon.

I just realized they removed the poison from found water containers. Back than we had to disinfect the empty bottle and than refill and use them lol.
