You should be able to see the routing & switching throughput on the Mikrotik product page. The LAN-LAN (switching) throughput should be the same between OpenWrt and RouterOS.
I no longer has the device in stock firmware to make the tutorial. You can find the guide on the internet to install Breed Web (just like a firmware upload/recovery portal), and then you can install any firmware that you want (OpenWRT, Pandavan). However, I can see that install OpenWRT on this router with software-only is more complicated then using console.

Hi, if you are having a lot of applications running on your PC (VmWare station, VirtualBox, Docker) which also has DHCP fucntion, the communication between router & TinyPXE may be fail. You can try with a different computer or use a USB network adapter.

Hmm, you can temporary disable Dhcp service (go to Task Manager - Service tab) and give a try. If it doesn't work, you need to enable the service.
