I'm more than ok with it if they replace it with a 350 ft. Giga coaster. No ride last forever. I'd rather see it gone and replaced than have Zamperla come and screw it up like Top Thrill.
idk why neither you nor six flags / cedar fair are considering the fact that the issue with top thrill was zamperla. they can ring up intamin and kingda ka 2 will be completely fine. red force is completely fine
If this is true, then I believe that the Kingda Ka that we see is the ending on the coaster, not the beginning. Intamin will come in and build a 350 tall giga on the site that Green lantern now sits on. They will somehow connect the two together. The train will already be going around 75 miles, and they will use LSMs after the bunny hill to help propel the train over the Top Hat.
It isn't fair if it gets quietly retired at the end of this season, it should be given at least one more season so the King gets the sendoff it deserves :(
Went to Great Adventure in 2013, the lines to nearly every roller coaster were excruciating but one, Green Lantern. I happily rode it, Batman, and El Toro. This was the main ride I wished I got a chance to go on back then. Was hoping to check it out next year or in two years 😢 crossing my fingers next year is its farewell but if not, all of y’all who get a chance to in the final days, make the most of it🫡
Kingda Ka and Green Lantern closing to make room for a Giga is the only way they can save face for me. Instead of the 436ft tower of Ka being the first thing you see, it could be a 350ft masterpiece greeting you when pull up to the parking lot… oh and I guess Superman too
@ when I rode it early in October I got trapped near the top of the lift hill for like 15 minutes. It was actually pretty crazy! And I’m being a little facetious in my original comment. It’s honestly a pretty solid ride! The pretzel loop has some of the craziest forces I’ve felt on anything
These are survey traverse points, probably means they are in the process of surveying the whole area. Will be used for final design and layout of whatever replaces it
Never been on Kingda Ka, but the original Top Thrill Dragster is my favorite rollercoaster even over Steel Vengeance, Fury, and The Voyage. I imagine this would’ve been awesome. Rip.
Ahhh i hope not. I havent been on in years, but it’s such a rush. Especially at night. Theres nothing like that view of the top on a foggy night. Hope it’s not true. But they can gladly scrap Green Lantern lol…
Maybe Kingda ka is getting LSM launch magnets and a new color scheme , there are a lot of possabilities, if it does go along with green lantern there sky line will never be the same without these roller coasters.
If they close it permanently they definitely got to replace it with atleast another strata that does something different to break a world record, and they better announce what they will do when they go public officially. A standard hyper or giga is not enough to cut it anymore, ( for me atleast). Ideally I hope they just revamp it and extend the layout into green lanterns space, retaing its height as an icon for the park.
It’s pointless spent extra money to make it 525 because of Falcons flight opening up in 2025 taking the record I can see them putting in the b&m Gigi coaster they Maybe 30 feet taller than fury And still have some land left over for On on-site hotel and a few good flat rides in the area
I think they know they’re losing the record next year to Falcons flight I think they see since they’re losing the height record I don’t think they would build something 500. I think they could build two coasters there. Or gig coaster that’s about 355 to 360 and some flat rides with they lack and r on site hotel and all that land that’s occupied by Green Lantern and king da ka on site hotel would bring a lot of money also Or they could get a great family coaster, a great thrill, coaster, and some flat, rides
Cedar point is my home park, still live in ohio today, i was planning to go to SFGA in summer 2025 but now that Kingda ka might be nearing its final season my hopes of ever riding it are now slim and weakened.
This is my home park but I’ve never been on it because you know big scary roller coaster but now I fell like if I don’t do it now it will be something I will regret for the rest of my life
The removal announcement of Vortex at Kings Island was out of the blue one fall morning in 2019. KK announcement will be sudden one morning soon. Soon.
I was able to snag so much merch for Kingda Ka I got so lucky. I got the last mug with both green lantern and Kingda ka on it, plus those souvenir coins they make. I got the penny presses too! So sad. I went to the park today… toro was down for the season and ka was 1 train ops 😅
Maybe needs re-track like other b and m coasters but stupid to take green lantern and king da ka at same time …. Do one this year and have replacement next year before removing another one.
Next decade will be interesting to see what else will be removed from other parks, as a lot of coasters are near the end of their operating cycle or are expensive to maintain, great video.
I would love to see a next gen intamin lsm launch coaster go in its spot to the likes of velocicoaster and for the entire Golden Kingdom to get a revamp but I really dont know what to expect since Six Flags has big plans in the making for this park and they are probably going to be doing a lot of expansion since they shoved "resort" in the name
I can see a hotel on site hotel since Cedar fair is good with the on site hotels also I could see two coasters and just one that’s a lot to land work with
@ I mean Six Flags wanted to build a hotel back when Kingda ka first was announced but it never happened due to their financial problems of course but it’s I don’t think a hotel on Kingda Ka and green lantern plot of land is a smart investment so I would say it’s likely going to be another coaster but probably not stretching into green lanterns area and I know how much people want a giga but that is not what the park needs like we now need a new standout world class launch coaster since honestly being someone who comes here religiously it’s going to feel surreal knowing that blue tower won’t be looming over me
Send Lantern to Michigan’s adventure or some other smaller neglected park. Leave it standup or make it floorless, repaint it, give it a new name and there you go.
It was already sent over from Kentucky Kingdom to Great Adventure while it was owned by Six Flags, so if anything they’d probably scrap it because of how rough it would get
Kingda Blah will DEFINITELY be scrapped. Green Lantern on the other hand will be dismantled and shipped to another Cedar Flags Park. Let's say Michigan's Adventure. It could receive a new color scheme with Kumba Style Trains, Not Floorless.
No offense but seems like you heard a rumor from someone at the park and ran to the internet to post about it so you could claim to have broke news without any real verification. Unless they find a serious mechanical issue with it this offseason, kingda ka isn’t being removed. If TT2 goes well next year I can see them going that route though, and removing green lantern is a necessary step towards that
@ Variety of things who knows. But it’s absurd to think they would shut down their biggest attraction without even a warning. That’s a massive marketing opportunity, if they know they’re closing it we all would have known 2 months ago. The only way it would actually be closing is if there is a serious mechanical flaw with the ride but if that were the case it wouldn’t be open to the public rn. I can definitely see it closing after next season, but not this year.
If it really is the end for Ka, and its end really is a case of letting go the minute it no longer has the height record, AND it's last days really were rumors swirling around the coaster community building credibility until pieces start getting removed, and if SFGA PR is really so cowardly as to deny Ka and its fans even just the dignity of an advance warning of any amount, I hate to say it but I hope the Flash opening next year sees a coordinated boycott. Make em run full capacity and not be able to find hardly any riders, somehow. This is worse than moving the A's to Sacramento level of slap in the face, IMO.
Folks, Kingda Ka is not closing. These are people wanting to make money off of your RUclips "clicks". And silly "dumb" people are believing it. These RUclipsr's prey on the money for ANYTHING you click on.

Superman was closed when I went 2 months ago, and it didn't even phase me haha.. Looks so small for a "Superman"
Well that sucks. I was wanting to ride this some day, although I’m scared of roller coasters I still like to ride lol.
I went this weekend too. Noticed the merch the markers and had a Hazy Bones as well! I'm glad I went! Had to do it. I had no choice.
You made a good decision, especially with the beer choice of hazy bones lol such a good one
I rode this once in my life, which was last year. I would be broken if it gets removed.
i think this is a marketing stunt to gain visitors when theyre lacking

Nice alright. Have heard the final send off would be it running through hitp so we’ll see
So many are in their feelings about it getting removed. Those of us who know, this happens in the industry all the time.
Peeps are but yea this does. It does suck to lose an icon like ka especially since it’s at our home park. We’ll miss it.
my friend reached out to six flags great adventure, and they said its just a rumor and its not closing idk if their lying or wat
Interesting. We’re going to be finding out very soon
@@coastersandbrews yeah i hope its not closing but we will see
How many more weeks will this be open?
This is the last weekend it is scheduled to operate for the 2024 season
Last comment 😊: The fact that Six Cedar Flags is quiet and not dispelling the "rumors" speaks volumes. Who knows, we may see Kas Revenge or Son Of Ka😂
Lolz
Either way, they are definitely planning something for Ka and Green Lantern at the end of this year, whether it be closing it or not.
No way an OSC fan was spotted who’s also possibly a roller coaster enthusiast. Respect 🫡
They are rotating the ride so they can add more parking just a little info for you❤

I’d be ok if Kingda Ka is closing as it is but it’s still running
What will happen if it is removed? Will they relocate to a different park or put it out of commission?
Nah it will get scrapped. Biggest rumor for replacement is Mack extreme spinner
