Your reports are among the best (if not THE best) on RUclips: You explain each and every move clearly so that, as a spectator who wasn't there to actually see the game being played, I always feel like I know exactly what was going on. It was also great to see such an unusual Cygnar list. It's always interesting to experience models you're not familiar with. After seeing how badly those Hammersmiths ripped up your troops I was rooting for you on your assassination run with Vlad, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

This was my favorite battle report to watch you do. The moments with dan where amusing as heck, & I'll admit it made my day seeing you guys play on terrain I built for BTP. I actually just got back into warmachine this week, playing my menoth. Running alot of exemplars, with kreoss & holy zealots. Once I get my copy of hordes I'll be doing a thargrosh everblight list. :)
You two were awesome. It's a good thing Dan is so lanky because it makes the two of you roughhousing a fair fight, like brother and sister playing and goading each other lol. And no surprises there, Beard Armor grants Dan TOUGH :P This is the most fun Batrep I've seen yet.

Highly enjoyable to see E. Dominic Darius being used as opposed to the more frequent Epic Haley/Epic Caine, a great example of the variety the Cygnar faction can offer. Plus, his 'Pit Stop' feat can be show-stopping when used in conjunction with Stormwall(s). Miranda, your battle report videos continue to be one of the highlights of my RUclips feed so many thanks for this latest contribution. In particular I am hoping to see you employ the use of the Kayazy Assassins and Eliminators in a future report, I hear they can be particularly devastating when used in concert with Epic Vlad's feat. I certainly enjoy them in a mercenary Damiano list, and I would be interested to see your take on them.

Hey Miranda, I have recently engaged in collecting and painting warmachine. I initially got into the hobby b/c of a student reading an issue of 'White Dwarf' one day. Lol, he kept asking for his magazine back, but I was not quite finished with it. Anyway, I live in an area that does not have many players, but in time, I think it will gradually catch on. It may take a while b/c it can take people an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes around here, lol. I enjoy your videos and look forward to future battle reports. Take care. :)
Great report, always love watching you play. Seeing that your wishing to maximize Ur demo corp might I suggest eIrusk. Putting demo behind shocktroopers give you a good shield then irusks ability let the demo corp charge through the troopers, with battle lust on them rolling 5 dice if icebreaker or 4 dice and the double swing. BL also gives fearless for the very few times your running them into a model with terror. EIrusk will also give the troopers tough for free and his feat turn makes itworse
The best thing I see in warmachine is the comebacks, how the game goes back and foward to both players. Pretty intense. I gotta start playing as soon as I can. ...and I'll probably play Khodar, I like the "russian" theme about it.
Awesome batrep as always, thanks for posting it. Have you thought of Strakhov leading a Man-o-War list? Occulation on a unit of the Demo Corp for protection and an 11" charge on the feat turn makes them quite scary.

It's just reassuring to see Cygnar win something. I'm new to it and picked up Cygnar somewhat unintentionally(good deal on ebay) but have been struggling. The first time I played I borrowed a Cryx army and walked over Khador, but with Cygnar I really struggle. I'm determined though and I like videos like these so I can see things play out.
Hey so i'm starting a Khador army and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for music to play as background. Mostly I'd like to stick to instrumental music. I've looked up some Red Army music and some of CoD world at war but would like some help finding more.
"*Slap* Khador, turn 3." "Khador, tur-" "KHADOR TURN 4!" I liked the turning, and I always enjoy seeing a Cygnar victory. If I was the Cygnar player, I would've had Darius charge that last trollkin so that I could get B2B with the Hammersmith and repair it with the feat. Of course, then I would've been shredded by Vlad... ...Holy crap, 14 in charge. That's... almost as good as Epic Stryker :P
I'd have to watch the report again to be sure, but I think there were a few turns where Darius forgot to activate new halfjacks. That's my main problem with using Darius - I always forget to do that, which means I never get to make full use of his feat, because by that time I'll only have maybe 1 halfjack on the table.
When I run man of wars I like to use Starkhov. His feat would give them +4 movement so they move super fast. Plus Starkhov has occultation so you can stealth the MoWs till they get in to combat
Isn't it wrong, that Cygnar rolled for hit with the Black 13th's against the two KNOCKED DOWN Boomhowler at min 6:07? Shouldn't they be automatically hit?
Okay Miranda because of you I bought a sorscha battlegroup with juggernaut and destroyer , I played Ikrpg so I knew a bit already about lore plus it was a really good deal, Miranda queen of khador has converted another player , to victory comrades!
I know I'm commenting way late on this report, but I have to say.. these reports are spectacularly good, and this one made me laugh out loud.. I admit, I became more interested in what would happen between turns more than the game itself! In general, your reports are the perfect mix of explanation, conciseness and even a touch of humor. One question, do you ever play anything other than Khador? If not, what about Khador do you like the most? The theme? How they play?
Not for Warmachine. I like playing the faction with the biggest toughest robots, and Khador also brings an awesome combined arms play style. Plus I tend to be a faction loyalist regardless of the game I'm playing. For Malifaux I stick with Neverborn, 40K I stick with Sisters of Battle and so on. =)
The benefit of being a faction loyalist is it costs less money... Something I really should learn. But I'm a dabbler. That said, I really like the look of Khador. The rustic woodsmen types who will put an axe in your face, mixed with the giant robots who will use their even bigger axes to cleave you in two...
I never make that many tough rolls. It was a great game, and I liked what you were doing to deliver the man o wars. I will say I enjoyed seeing Darius out again, as he is not a very popular. Im surprised he survived the charge from pvlad.
Ever thought of using the great bears. On the charge they can effectively wipe out anything short of a colossal. Especially when combined with forward kommander sorcha or the butchers feat
Hey great video, also welcome back. Have you ever thought of trying the Iron Kingdoms RPG? It's a tabletop rpg version of the Warmachine miniature games.
Personally, I think that Boomhowler's guys performed pretty well. There is only so much you can expect from a Tarpit. They are going to die sooner or later. It seems to me that the deciding factor of the battle was the fact that you couldn't get the Demo Corps to apply any damage on Turn 2. To add to that, by the time they could do damage in Turn 3, you had already lost 4 of the 8 models or so. Do you think you could have alleviated that with some different positioning? I know that Hindsight is 20/20 but looking back on the battle, have you considered what would have happened if you sent Drago over to hold one of the flags? Vladimir never even used his feat, and that would have been a good application for it. I think it woul have removed some pressure from you and forced your opponent to rethink his strategy. Also, have you considered using Strakhov with your Demo Corps? I don't play him myself, but I've heard that he maximizes their use by moving them into combat so quickly on his Feat turn. Anyway, thank you for the Report. You are as intimidating as ever. That's a compliment. I wish you great things for this new year. May you post many many more victorious battles. :-)
Positioning was huge in this game. Boomhowler and Co should have moved to block Thunderhead from moving up and pulsing the second time. Using the troll mercs was still rather new to me and Dan did an excellent job to keep Thunderhead perfectly out of the threat range of my MOW - which protected him another round. Maybe Drago would have been better off holding flags, but my thought at the time was he would be part of the second wave attack. Boomhowler and Co run up the board and hold position, MOW run to be the first real line of attack, Drago finishes off any jack that has survived. He got disabled really early on in the game though (disruption, lost and arm, lost his cortex) Had the MOW connected on Thunderhead early on it would have been a very different game, but those are the risks you take when you're guessing distances. Strakhov may use MOW well, I've also heard suggestion to use eIrusk, and even Karchev. But this list was specifically designed to use pVlad with MOW to take on high armor and high defense and help offset the mobility issue. I think Boomhowlers with S&P makes them a lot more threatening and since they can cover ground much faster than MOW they can hold a better position up the board while my hard hitting troops huff and puff to catch up.
I did. This was actually shot at Valhalla back in October. The old Incursion rule seemed particularly harsh for Hordes (who often run beast heavy) since they couldn't really have beasts cover both flags. The new 2014 rule is much better.
I was surprised to see you leave your winter guard out of this battle with kovnik joe, they usually do well for you and your destroyer Jack with Vlad was pretty deadly, were you just trying out something different?

On a side note, on turn 2 why not screen your MoWs with Boomhowlers for another turn?

To add to that, by the time they could do damage in Turn 3, you had already lost 4 of the 8 models or so. Do you think you could have alleviated that with some different positioning?
I know that Hindsight is 20/20 but looking back on the battle, have you considered what would have happened if you sent Drago over to hold one of the flags? Vladimir never even used his feat, and that would have been a good application for it. I think it woul have removed some pressure from you and forced your opponent to rethink his strategy.
Also, have you considered using Strakhov with your Demo Corps? I don't play him myself, but I've heard that he maximizes their use by moving them into combat so quickly on his Feat turn.

Positioning was huge in this game. Boomhowler and Co should have moved to block Thunderhead from moving up and pulsing the second time. Using the troll mercs was still rather new to me and Dan did an excellent job to keep Thunderhead perfectly out of the threat range of my MOW - which protected him another round. Maybe Drago would have been better off holding flags, but my thought at the time was he would be part of the second wave attack. Boomhowler and Co run up the board and hold position, MOW run to be the first real line of attack, Drago finishes off any jack that has survived. He got disabled really early on in the game though (disruption, lost and arm, lost his cortex)
Had the MOW connected on Thunderhead early on it would have been a very different game, but those are the risks you take when you're guessing distances.
Strakhov may use MOW well, I've also heard suggestion to use eIrusk, and even Karchev. But this list was specifically designed to use pVlad with MOW to take on high armor and high defense and help offset the mobility issue. I think Boomhowlers with S&P makes them a lot more threatening and since they can cover ground much faster than MOW they can hold a better position up the board while my hard hitting troops huff and puff to catch up.

Did you film this before January? Just because the new incursion rules say that the middle flag doesn't go away.
I did. This was actually shot at Valhalla back in October. The old Incursion rule seemed particularly harsh for Hordes (who often run beast heavy) since they couldn't really have beasts cover both flags. The new 2014 rule is much better.
I was surprised to see you leave your winter guard out of this battle with kovnik joe, they usually do well for you and your destroyer Jack with Vlad was pretty deadly, were you just trying out something different?
