- Andy heads out to fish one of the smaller streams in his area, during some terrible flood conditions. Grayling fishing on nymphs is one of the very best ways to catch the lady of the stream, and while everywhere else is flooded, Andy has found a reliable grayling fishing stream which usually holds some fish. Small river fishing using euro nymph techniques, Andy is hoping to fool these grayling using a variety of tungsten nymphs. Euro nymphing for grayling is a great way of tackling these smaller streams, if you're careful where you put your rod tip! Winter fly fishing can be really effective, so if you're inter4ested in how to catch grayling - check this one out! Enjoy: Grayling Fishing The ONLY Stream Not Flooded!

Good to see you back on the rivers again, Andy 🙌 Thanks for taking us along 👍
Love the bow and arrow cast, every small stream fisher should have it in their armoury....
It’s great to see you back on RUclips Andy! You’ve been sorely missed and I am so sorry that you’ve been missing out due to the weather
Thanks so much Phil!
So glad to see someone catching
Delighted to see you back Andy . I know it's been a tough winter for you and hope we see some decent weather soon. As you know I was going to book another session with you but it's going to have to wait as unfortunately i've popped my knee, it's being scanned tomorrow and it might need surgery. I'll be in touch hopefully when the weather and my knee have improved. Keep up the good work as i'm desperate to get out myself.
ah crikey bud, that's a nightmare, think you might be up and about in time for the season?
Hope so !@@IBandAndyFishing
All the best from the three of us here Mark. Buy lots of kit in the meantime!
Hi Andy
Really good to see you the other day, enjoyed our chat and look forward to bumping into you again in the future.
Great video mate. Very useful and clearly reinforces the idea that an indicator technique is not the only way going forward. Your comment to me about getting to depth quicker and being able to respond more effectively and quickly to changes in depth as you move up a pool with a tight-line rig have been noted!
👍
Great to see you Phil, it sounded like you had a good day in the end? Did you spot me walking off in completely the wrong direction to my car? I was half way to George's house before I realised! 😂😂
@@IBandAndyFishing No mate. Not even with the radioactive glow from your bobble hat! 🤣🤣
And yes, I had a great day. Spent a couple of hours at the vice today restocking patterns I seem to have a lot less of compared to when I set out. I had to smile when you were giving tips about retrieving flies from trees , bushes and other assorted ex vegetation. Came a bit late for me. Next time though 😁
Top angling dude. See ya soon - I’ll get a date or two sorted with ya - this weathers got us all clawing at the doors - reckon a lot of the gravels moved around up there eh
I’m inspired to try fly fishing! Where do I start!!
Great to see you back. I was up near Buxton/Bakewell in January and immediately thought of you when I saw the state of the rivers...and then it got even wetter! Been flyfishing for pike from the canal down here and even that is like fishing in cocoa. Here's to a dry spring.
Here's to a dry spring indeed, we've earned it!
Great to see you out Andy, the struggle is real.
Tell me about it, what a winter!
Hi Andy,
Thank you so much for another inspiring and motivating recording. They continue to inspire us.
Can I ask please, the river levels chart you display in the first minute, is it publicly available or something you use for yourself? It looks to be a website maybe?
Thank you very much. Tight lines. Neil
Hi Neil, I think that one was from the riverlevels.co.uk site, there are a few different Web sites which will give you the gauge heights though
Good to see you out again Andy. May see you some day on the Dove! Regards. David.
See you in the season bud!
Great to see you back on RUclips after a long, enforced break. Thanks for posting this - excellent video as usual.
Good to see you guys back with another nice little vid 👍 can I please ask Andy what make is your waist belt in the latest vid?
Many thanks Pete
really nice to see you out on the river and catching. Well done Andy
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks Nick!
Hes Alive! 😂😂😂 good to see you back, you two could have put tying vids up, you've both been missed ❤
Thanks Graham!
Great stuff Andy - great to see you back in the water - take care!
Thanks 👍
Good that you could flick line behind you on that corner spot Andy😉
don't tell 'em, Pike!
Lovely to see you back. What a winter. Hope the new trout season is a good one. Regards, Jon
I hope so too! Cheers Jon!
Always good viewing, Andy.
The rivers down here in South Wales have been dire, even with the conditions spot on. Trout season can't come soon enough.
Good to see you using your skills on the Derbyshire streams n rivers again. I'm further north by the Swale, Tees and Ure etc upper Yorkshire. Wet, flooded chocolate rivers. Horrible
It's been a vile winter, hasn't it?
@@IBandAndyFishing it certainly has been the wettest I can recall for many a year
Good to see you back mate! Missed your vids alot ..... its been a terrible winter for me as well, hardly got out at all :( ....Looking forward to some nice sunny days fishing trout on the dry fly now :)
We've earned some better weather I think, haven't we?!
Lovely to see you back on the screen Andy. The river conditions have been horrible everywhere haven’t they. Glad you caught matey, even if a big ass dog jumped in your swim 😅
Nice to see you get out there and catch a few!
thanks Tom, will try to get back out asap!
I’m really enjoying this video, thank you!!!! Your creek looks like a creek here in West Virginia USA. It mainly has wild reproducing browns in it. The bows try to spawn in it but the larger browns eat the fry up quickly. I’d love to fish with you someday. Again, thanks a bunch!!!!
That is awesome! Trout streams are always sort of familiar aren't they?
Glad to see you back i missed your fishing adventure best of luck from the us ❤
Thanks Bobby! 👍
You say you were worried about kicking up silt, i have quite often had fish downstream of me in silt especially if the water has been high and muddy for a while before. I reckon it is when the fish are hungry having not been able to see well for a period.
I totally agree, they'll often sit right below you. In this instance the silt was REALLY thick, it looked horrible, but it might have stirred them up!
Hi mate, been loving your videos and learning a lot. I've only ever fly fished still waters but I have just joined a local club with access to the lower river dove so can't wait to get out and give it a go hopefully for grayling before the season ends and then for trout. I always thought river fishing would be too hard but thanks to your channel I feel a lot more confident in giving it a go. Looking forward to seeing more of yours and ib's very informative videos.
Great to see you back, great video well done we need more please
More to come, we promise!
@@IBandAndyFishing Good good 👍
Good to have you back!
How do you get on with the Scierra dry pack btw?
I'm looking for something similar for a trip to Costa Rica, where I'll be doing a fair bit of kayak fishing. However, I need it to fit under the Ryanair seat for the first leg of the journey. Do you know if it could be squeezed to fit those dimensions (40 x 25 x 20cm)?
Thanks!
It definitely could yes! By waterproof pack standards it of quite thin, but I must trust it because there's a drone and a dslr in there!
Cracking video , great to watch again, you guys should definelty fish still water again! Really enjoyed the last Stillwater videos
Glad you enjoyed it, you're too, we could do more stillwater stuff
Great new video. Did begin to wonder where you folks had disappeared too. Good to see you back.
Thanks bud! What a winter, can't wait for it to end!
Same here. The River season starts 15 March, here in Scotland. After watching your great videos and tutorials. Made an investment in a Guideline 2wt lps set up. Looking forward to trying out a bit of nymph style fishing. Keep up the great work. Tight lines
Your out on the water good going we still got high water and some big floods
It's not much different here. I filmed this two days ago, it's been over it's banks since!
Fantastic as always
really kind bud, thank you!
Brilliant video Andy. Woz loverly to meet you at Staffordshire and get a picture 😊 with you both. Wish you well. Graham Webb.
Thanks, you too!
Yes..hoping for some dry days and those rivers start to fall....and those March browns and LDO,s appear
Didnt make it to BFFI. time to think about a cast wade and hope for salmo salar..and swing the Dee Monkey and Gledswood on the Tweed
Until then maybe a 22 foot leader and the glacial speed buzzer at Carsington
Agree mate, this weather is biblical and with the season only a few weeks away here in Wales it doesn't look good, back with the Wychwood's I see, didn't fancy snagging up the Simms?
The Simms have been been in Denmark being repaired, I knackered the stocking feet- user error!
Nice to see someone fishing Andy….it must be gutting for you not being able to guide. I set up my two weight with the indicator system you designed before Christmas and I haven’t had one day to use it yet. I caught a 16” grayling on the Taff with it last year so I’m pretty frustrated. Keep up the good work …looking forward to more content as the weather warms up….hopefully 🙄
I'll do my best bud, it's been pissing it down here since I made this video two days ago - when will it end?!
Always interesting on these small streams. You'd fish a 10' rod on a river like the Derwent (way bigger) so why not a handy 7' on a little stream like this. Surely (as a proportion of the river) it has equivalent reach? Could eradicate the casting issue. Loved the video BTW.
great question Richard! I'll start with the last bit, it won't really change the casting issue at all. If the trees are low to the water then it'll make no difference, you still wont get underneath them with the 7' rod. I'd like to try a 9' 2# for these streams, but I don't have one. For me the big advantage of the 10' rod comes from the bow and arrow casting - the longer the rod, the more line I can get out of the tip. 7' rod means I can only get to 14' without shooting, 10' rod means I can get to 20' - it's a huge advantage
Fantastic session mate
Glad you enjoyed it Mick!
Been trying to fish the churnet now for weeks sick of the rain tbh
The churnet has looked like hot chocolate for the last four months! 🙈
Can't remember how to cast Andy it's been so long here 😂
mate, honestly, wasn't sure I'd remember what to do!
Haha pissed myself laughing at the woman with the dog mate. Class.
Ive been false casting random sticks out of nostalgia
I laughed at this! I false cast a wooden spoon in the kitchen the other day!
@@IBandAndyFishing -any bites? No luck for me 😔
WHAT VILLAGE IS THAT IN THE DISTANCE ANDY,? ROGER FROM BRISBANE AUSTRALIA ,,,,,,,,JUST STARTING TO RAIN THIS MORNING. EXPECTED 32 DEG AND HUMID AS HELL..
