Finally.. the REAL watch guy with the REAL news on watches while WATCHES are the stars... Bravo, Sir!
Thanks for sharing our passion and your kind feedback!
Agreed!
You can wear whichever watch you like in Hong Kong, and not have to worry about it.
Lucky you!!! 😜
Alexander clearly and cleverly put it about the ( Click Bait ) media will maybe not be too enthusiastic about the new Rolex novelties. Who cares? that’s why we watch this channel which has no click bait 😂.
Hehe 😜 Thanks for sharing your thoughts and passion with us!
That 1908 is one of the best Rolex releases for years. Stunning watch. Its in a really competative price point with watches from Lange, JLC though. Good to have options though
In terms of quality it “kills” all of them…
Thankfully, where I live you can definitely wear any of these watches and be completely safe.
Without being precise, which part of the world are you from. The EU?
The EU is no longer safe… stealing watches has become a daily “business”…
@@shabasRS United Arab Emirates
@@WatchAdvisor such a loss. The EU is where culture and beauty are. I honestly have no idea why they tolerate crime as much as they do, what’s the upside??
Alexander! Muchas gracias….. best watch channel, love the detail videography 🥂 salud!
Love your comment… Thanks for sharing our passion!
Fully agree on 1908. This ice blue on platinum is just stunning.
Thanks for sharing! !
Lovely presented..thanks👍
I am glad you liked it… which one is your favorite this year?
@@WatchAdvisor i’d like to see the platinum 1908 on my wrist, not sure I like the baby blue..but lovely execution of the dial..looking forward to your presentation of the Patek models…
Rolex is stretching the boundaries of the word new. Reimagined sounds more appropriate.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching and for sharing our passion!
Excellent recap!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for sharing!
I think the new GMT looks slick. The 1908 is beautiful.
The most underrated high-end, super elegant wristwatch on the market! The competition knows how good the 1908 is, many potential clients not yet… This is a true MASTER PIECE ….
Great video, the 1908 and GMT are the most wearable ones, the rest is more jewelry then watch making.
Very true! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video of the absolute top shelf brand in the industry. Best Brand. Best Resale. Best of everything. Thanks and looking forward to much more fantastic Rolex contents!!!
Is it heck? Rolex are a brand that sells watches and that is ALL they are best at. I won’t deny the quality, but they are hardly the most inspiring manufacturer out there. Plonk a bog standard movement in a lump of gold and some unsuspecting punter will fall for the b.s and part with good cash for this expensive con!
How many Rolex watches he's do you own?
WA videos are really the Gold Standard for watch videos. Not only is the content really informative, but the video quality is first class as well. Bravo.
Thanks for sharing our passion and your kind feedback! WatchAdvisor #wherethewatchesarethestars
Sky Dweller is my pick 🤩‼️ will definitely go for this one.
It is a very useful and underrated watch… good choice… please keep us posted!
1908 is one good competitive to Patek, with one diamond can be perfect 👌 in latinamerica you no can use that deepsea maybe in Europe, good video 👍👏
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
The target customer for that gold deepsea is someone like Wilson Fisk 😂
Could be… but not necessarily… Thanks for sharing!
The new platinum model is lovely, my second favourite is the mop Day-Date.
Thanks for sharing!
Contrary to what people are saying about Rolex, this will be the most viewed video from WatchAdvisor this year. Good work 👍🏻
The reason we are not participating in any clickbait exercises is this video… we prefer to deliver quality… Thanks for sharing our passion!
Thanks for the video as always. I was hoping you would comment on the nature of the dial - is it a hand turned guilloche dial as some blogs/webites have reported, or is this a stamped pattern, or a CNC engraved dial as others have reported? There seems to be not much agreement between the journalists that visited W&W 2024!
Please check here to find more details about Rolex and its dial making…. newsroom.rolex.com/watchmaking/features/dials Let me know if you found what you were looking for…
@@WatchAdvisor thanks for sharing. But neither documents or the images there clarify the method of manufacturing used to create this dial. Revolution reported this as a hand turned guilloche dial, whereas Fratello and Hodinkee suggested it was machine made.
@@BeansAndBezels I would be shocked if it was anything other than a stamped dial. Rolex doesn't do much of anything 'by hand' any more, save for gem setting. Or at least as far as I understand it.
@@Nefville my initial assumption was that it was CNC or stamped too, given Rolex's level of automation and potential production volumes, but the articles from Revolution (written by Cheryl Chia) and Monochrome (written by Brice Goulard, but now corrected to remove the hand turned statement) left me confused.
I know some guys have to wear Deepsea and can't wear Submariner because it looks too small on them so the gold version is definitely a nice option for that audience.
I am curious how long it takes until Insee one on a wrist…
That gold Deepsea is fit For Arnold!
Yesss! Guys “Get to the Choppa” 😜🤣🤣
This is as good as it gets as modern Rolex is a virtual experience. In Hong Kong retail is still an absolute disgrace. My buddy had to buy a Baume & Mercier to get the 2-tone Daytona that is "display only".
Depends on which AD you go to. There are good and bad Rolex ADs. If Rolex wants to cut down on ADs, there are one or two obvious candidates.
Yes, blame the independent acting ADs for totally fooling their customers by wanting them to pay a premium for a Rolex. The ADs artificially created and now support that greedy business… Know!!! Rolex manufacturers > 1.200.000 watches per year… ADs get deliveries every month… there are enough watches in the markets…
I agree about the 1908; I love how understated the watch looks. It’s probably the only Rolex I would buy (yellow gold case/white dial variant).
I’d go for a white gold version with a dark blue dial… once there is one…
Good coverage don't agree with 1908 tried it a few times but Trinity of watches over this any day Imo
Tastes are different! In terms of quality the 1908 outperforms all the others…
I agree the black and white dials are bland, but this guilloche ice blue dial may be the right one.
Tastes are different… more variations will follow…
@@WatchAdvisor yes I understand I haven't seen the plat version with blue dial but the initial release was underwhelming especially at that price point and wait times
Rolex doesn’t need to make serious changes or new models, clearly the most desired. People need to chill about a lack luster showing. Their pieces are timeless and pretty much every model is great.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
Weight on 1908 platinum?
No idea…
Bravo, you can actually see the watches here.
WatchAdvisor #wherethewatchesarethestars
Nice Rolex Video thanks Alexander. The Deepsea is made for real Pimps. You can see it in the Redlight Milieu...😂
We shall see… please read the comment about the “Centra Bank” underneath…
I like the new day dates. Just need to be able to afford them now
ADs get enough deliveries… Rolex manufacturers more than 1.200.000 watches per year… they shouldn’t fool you and tell that they have nothing to sell … they are GREEDY … seek to earn a premium for selling you one…
@@WatchAdvisor no no my problem is not getting the watches. My AD will sell me a day date. My problem is being able to afford paying for a day date. They cost more than a decent car these days
We keep our fingers crossed 🤞🏼… never say never…
@@WatchAdvisor yes thank you. Love your work. Keep it up
I'm still holding out for the return of the Milgauss ideally with the 1908 dial design.
It could also be in the design of the “Turn o Graph” … Who knows?
What is the thickness of the new 36mm day-dates?
If we didn’t mention it in the video… I don’t know…
We neeed a video with the cartier releases. No one is showing the new cartier santos in full gold/bracelet/brown dial
In the pipeline… 😜
I don't know, none of these really do it for me. The only Rolex I was really interested in, the Palm Dial, was discontinued this year, which means the 3+ years I was on the waitlist for it were all for nothing so the brand has not quite endeared itself to me recently and I don't want to be negative so I'll shut up now. Hopefully these make some collectors happy, that's enough for me.
That must have been very disappointing… I am sorry to read this… Why did your AD fool you? The watches were available…
Why did you not do content on the new Blancpain 42mm?
Why? Blancpain (the entire Swatch Group) did not exhibit at Watches and Wonders…
@@WatchAdvisor does the Swatch Group have its own watch fair? I still remember when everyone still went to Baselworld.
Does anyone know WHY rolex/tudor don't put movements in their watches for Watches and Wonders?
Because they are the bottlenecks in the production of the entire watches…
Probably as a security measure. I'm sure if one were to steal the watch, that person can source the genuine movement online.
Ultra precise ....
My Casio Edifice : Hold my beer
?????
@@WatchAdvisorjust some trollish comment that his plastic quartz watch is more accurate that a Rolex. Yawn, right? Horology is like a joke, if we have to explain it you won’t get it anyway.
Thank you for all your coverage of W&W this year, including the ‘guided tour’. You really made me feel like I was there in Geneva. Thank you for the hard work!
Thanks for sharing our passion and your kind feedback!!!!
About the gold deep sea 6:29 “Can you still wear such a watch?” Only if your name is Mark Wahlberg (and you have security around you all the time). That’s what Rolex is turning into “nouveau riche” celebrity watches.
I disagree with “nouveau riche”… but I agree that it has become difficult to wear some of the models…
Why Geneva and not Genève engraved since we are in a French area?
Good question! 🤷
Perfect photography showing off these gorgeous Rolex watches and all the precise information as we expect from such a comprehensive channel. The GMT is very conservative and, quite frankly, somewhat underwhelming and insipid. The golden DeepSea is, of course, outrageous but this is Rolex there will be many rich people around the world queueing to get it on their wrist at their cigar or yacht club. The 1908 is exquisite and just looks so elegant from any angle. The diamond stuff isn’t to my personal taste as that’s getting obnoxiously blingy for the sake of it, again many fans wanting to overtly display their wealth on cruise ships and exotic foreign beaches in private resorts. Thank again!
Love your comment, thanks for sharing!
That gold Rolex Deepsea, wouldn’t last five minutes on the wrist of an unsuspecting punter on the streets of South London, plus it looks gaudy. I do like that 1908 though, very nice! I will say that I am getting the impression that Rolex just builds watches in expensive metals for the benefits for the unsophisticated and less sartorially minded. Less is always more, and subtlety is more gentlemanly.
The 1908 is quite luxury… Thanks for sharing your passion with us!
You really cannot beat Rolex quality, my 1970 explorer looks like a new watch still and it was last serviced in 2018 and it never misses a beat and is more accurate than lots of my new watches that are not Rolex or my Omegas
My words… that’s what I said in the video… the crown 👑 does not disappoint…
I can attest to this, my 16570 from 2002 is still performing well under the Superlative Chronometer standard doing 0.5-1s fast per day not far behind my 2023 BB Pro that’s doing +0.3 seconds/day. It makes the 20 years age difference like it’s nothing.
The older 48h Rolex movement's were indestructible and can be serviced by any independent watchmaker. My 14060m and EXP1. 114270 from the early 2000s perform exactly as they did brand new from 03 and 07 with the Explorer. I have no interest with modern Rolex and the new 70h power reserve movement's
The platinum 1908 is my favourite
I generally like the new 1908… only the competition so far knows how good and dangerous this watch is…
You mean the platinum Guilloche-Master? 😅😅😅
thank you Alexander for your unbiased coverage of w+w ..always a highlight of the new release time
You are welcome 🙏🏻 Thanks for sharing our passion!
Dubai and Monaco are the only places i think are safe for Rolex to be worn unless you have security!
Most likely… Thanks for sharing!
All of Japan, shopping malls, hotels and resorts in Thailand. Many places are safe.
Very nice designs, but somewhat overpriced given the significant share of marketing costs with any Rolex watch. In terms of precision, nothing beats a Certina Precidrive quartz movement: maximum 10 seconds deviation per year. It would be nice to see another Rolex quartz watch hitting the market.
Will not happen though…
I’ve been waiting for this video, Alexander, as yours are always the best on RUclips 👍 Thanks
Thanks for sharing our passion! Which one is your favorite?
For me Alexander, it is the Day Date in white gold and mother of pearl. For my wife, Daytona with diamonds and contrasting mother of pearl dial. I do also agree with you, the 1908 platinum is a fantastic piece! Thanks for all the videos👍👍
The 1908 is exquisite.
I couldn’t agree more 😉
Gold Deepsea: In my opinion rolex sometimes makes such watches (at first nobody understands it) only to steel the show and to grab everybodys attention and to show their power (because they can). Plus they are the first with it, so everyone else is a copy now, example: what would you think if omega launches an ultra deep in solid gold? You would think, they copy rolex. So everything is for brand awareness, dont forget, rolex wasn't and still isnt the best watch brand (look at patek, vacheron, ap, omega, lange etc.), but they were and still are the best in the industry in marketing, as they always have been. The strategy is still the same, its all about the brand, not the watch. When you see it from a marketing perspective and not from a buyers perspective, then it starts to make sence.
Same with Tudor Solid gold bb, everybody asks, who buys this watch for that price? Well from a marketing perspective, If this would be a limited tudor, lets say 5 or 10 pieces, then I know a lot of people that would buy that watch. Moves like this create more brand awareness, and that's what it is all about these days, in my opinion
Good marketing was always part of the success of Rolex, but the real asset and the driving force is the quality of the watches… You seem to have no idea how good these Rolex watches are compared to others… Never mind!
I've 2 rolexes, a 226570 polar and a 126610 ln, how come you make such claims without knowing anything about me? Good quality is loong time gone myfriend, there are watches that costs way less and have bettet quality, if you compare it under the microscope for example grand seiko. You know that this is the truth, nobody was saying something against rolex watches, Im only helping people to understand some of these prices and models
That deep sea❤ and the 1908 is gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing! Where can you wear the DeepSea?
@@WatchAdvisor In the comfort of your home I guess....
Most likely 😜
Less is best
Which Rolex watch is your favorite?
I don't have interest in Rolex because it is almost impossible to get it even if I have enough money.😢
Apparently your Rolex-AD is fooling you! Watches are available, enough are manufactured (> 1.200.000 per year) enough are delivered by Rolex… your AD tries to generate a premium by fooling you…
They need to get rid of that 32xx movement and resolve the low amplitude problem.
Rolex is aware of that issue … be sure they know what to do and need no advice…
Where is your source for they are aware? I thought Rolex doesn’t comment on issues they have.
I neither comment on my sources…
Lame.
The 1908 was cool indeed, the rest was blah
A totally underestimated watch....
The Rolex problem is in their retail stores. Jewlers that don’t sell Rolex don’t pitch watches you didn’t ask about. The ones that sell Rolex always pitch something else instead of what the customer inquired about, even if the watch you asked about isn’t a Rolex. It’s very annoying.
Yes, blame the independent acting ADs for totally fooling their customers. The ADs artificially created and now support that greedy business… Rolex manufacturers > 1.200.000 watches per year… ADs get deliveries every month…
OOS weeks before official announcement, what a tragedy
Says who? Your AD? If yes, then he is fooling you… Do also read my answer below to a similar comment…
Thanks Alexander for presenting the new Rolex watches. In general, pretty boring new stuff besides the 1908. This one is a real stunner. One for me....
Thanks for sharing! I agree with the 1908… it is a stunner and a very underrated watch so far…
Wayyyy too close to a Sub aesthetically. Tudor needs to continue to rid itself as the “poor man’s Rolex” This model just feeds into that. I think this is a step back.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
It's the reason I prefer the Pelagos over the BBs. Fixed bezel BBs are okay in my book though.
You can always wear the all gold Deepsea to the gym. You will probably burn 25% more calories with that watch on
Hehe 😜 that’s a good one… 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Finally watch advisor with a good video
It am happy to read this! Thanks for sharing our passion! Which of the new releases is your favorite?
Rolex looks old
Now become a jewelry watch
Not fun no more
Please do not write stupid here! If you want to argue be polite… Thank you!
Even more unobtainable Rolex watches. What's the use ot this video? What's the use of this brand?
Is the only brand's goal bribing customers into buying other watches and jewels to get bumped up on the never ending waiting list?
Blame the independent acting ADs for totally fooling their customers and NOT Rolex!!! The ADs artificially created and support that greedy business… Rolex manufacturers > 1.200.000 watches per year… ADs get deliveries every month…
320g is too heavy and the Deepsea is too gaudy and cheesy,,,too much. Hideous
Well this watch will sell… but I am just wondering where you can still wear it?
@@WatchAdvisor wherever drug dealers and rappers are, is where
You can go to gym and get stronger arms
Lol 320 grams of gold is too heavy, your probably the first person to ever say that
@@bdegrds for a watch, yes…too heavy. I have a breitling chronomat gmt, that is 200g steel watch and it already hefty enough. I’ll be happy to take that gold in 18k nugget bar instead
Rlex not even close to even a cheap quartz for accuracy.
With -2/+2 seconds per day they are top notch… don’t forget it is a mechanical wristwatch…
What an ignorant comment. A Picasso does not come close to a 4k digital image in clarity and detail, but they are not at all comparable. You are comparing mass produced cheap tech to art.
Are you really saying that you cannot afford the watch by using a silly comparison?
Boring uninspiring releases
Tastes are different…
The Rolex deepsea it’s a major joke. Might have to see a wrist doctor after worrying her for a week Rolex got boring. It’s over.
It is not a “major joke”… but the leading manufacturer of luxury watches simply does what he wants…
-Nice, put my name in for one
-Over the top Huge, Invicta homage
- very nice, dial is amazing, would never wear it though
- can't imagine who would wear it
- thought about one, but in blue only😢
- ughhĥ, couldn't/wouldn't ever
For which one?
