You are a gentleman for sharing your videos to beginners like myself, I am a retired toolmaker and have used a large cnc mill but I just put in the measurements from drawings which my boss drew up , I know have to learn cad drawings for myself to make simple items .
What simple cad software would you recommend .

Hello, thanks for the information. I would like to ask if a Windows laptop would work as well and how to physically connect it to the CNC machine. We have a 1300mm by 2500mm CNC 3D router and we want to control it with a software rather than the richauto a11e hand held controller

You will need a Mach 3 CNC board (USB) fitted to your machine. I have videos on this, have a look at my channel

Hi Roger I use mach 3 and was wondering if you stop the process 3 quarters of the way through is there a way of making it run the selected programme in reverse rather than having to start it from the beginning?
    Thank you

    Hi Sir,
I can see you are an expert..! I hope you can help me..!
Can you demystify some of my worries..?
There is lot of confusion regarding the reliability and consistency of mach3 as it is PC based and USB or Parallel port.! Lot of people say that it may behave funny in the middle of a project and it may ruin the entire job..!
which can be caused by slight voltage spikes from nearby high power accessories like VFD or Motors. And relying fully on PC for CNC operation is not recommended. I am so worried about all these..!
I am not sure how much immunity against such HF-RF Noise shielded cables can offer..!
But dedicated CNC controllers like Masso and RichAuto are insanely priced.! and I don't have access to USA or Euro Based other CNC Controllers here..!
People have also mentioned that If signal voltage is high (24v or higher) It can withstand such interferences..!
But mach3 operates at 5V only..! So there is high chance of signal contamination..!
    Is that a huge concern..?
    Mach3 Boards are affordable.
But If I cant use them for longer projects , then there is no point in spending money for all the parts which are still expensive..!
    I am so worried..!
    Secondly,
I have seen in videos that
The baud rate that mach3 communicates at , is not adequate to drive powerful servos..! !
So Only steppers at low power application is possible with Mach3.
    That is so discouraging..!
    Can you help me?

You need a Win 7 computer with a 32 bit system to run Mach 3, its ok for that computer to have win 10 on it

    I am new in Mach3
How do i move the tool to an exact coordinate?
So i want to move the X to exact +100, Y to exact -155 and Z to exact +5 as an example.
I can jog to these coordinates but that is not exact. So how do i do this?

Hi Roger, when I try mach3 on win7 I find little glitches like weird jogging. What version of win do you use? Thanks

    • @rogerwebb9600
      @rogerwebb9600  3 года назад +1

I use Win 7, you can use Win 10 "IF" it is on a Win 7 computer, Mach works with a 32 bit system.
Get your machine checked out, and don't use it until you do.

Hi roger, I have ventured into the world of CNC routers. I have purchased a machine and have had loads of success. Although when it comes to 2.5D carving my machine tends to slow right down. I’m assuming it’s because of the capabilities of my z axis. My machine can run at 6meter per min while roughing ( not using z axis) but will slow down to 2 meter per min while z axis is constant. I was wondering is this is Normal or if I am missing something. Oh and before you asks I have set my speeds and feeds to well above what my machine and handle. And always set my z axis speed to the same as my x-y feed rate. I thought that all axis with function at the same speed.
    Any help would be awesome.
My machine is an axiom ar8 pro plus v5
    In case you were wondering

Hi, go into Mach3 settings, motor tuning then raise the acceleration figure in the Z axis only.
