Thank you! I've been looking for someone who explains exactly what burnishing is and does for a while now!

Awesome! I had a burnishing rod and also didn't know you needed to get the leather wet before rubbing! No wonder it still is pretty fuzzy despite my best efforts. Thanks for the tip.

Oh man, I've been meaning to get into this. I have need of leather made accessories, and I have all the toold. Just seems to overwhelming.

if you have the wood slicker (or a dowel I imagine), you can use the taper to do the same thing to the rest of the leather and it adds depth to make it look older compared to just freshly dyed and left alone. I've done it a few times for leather wristbands and bracers etc, and it makes it look great, at least for browns/mahogany colors. Also try hide rejuvinator and really rub it in and just work the leather, it softens and adds to the aged/antique feel to it.

Punished Props also forgot to mention, get a really soft cloth, kinda like a glasses cloth (tandy leather sells them in packs) and give it a good buffing when the rejuvinator dries

Say Bill, I'm adding foam armor to a glove, any recommended tutorials or tips for attaching foam to a work glove? Plastic supports? Rivets? Snaps? I'm all ears. Thanks!

Burnishing looks even better if you sand the edges before you wet and burnish the leather. Makes for a nice flat and even seam that will look seamless when finished.

So I'm huge into the Mandalorian mythos and armor. I've turned a nerf rifle into a pretty sweet sniper rifle for my build. Was wondering how to send a couple pics to you to get your input on it.

Bill 🙂 any advice on taking off the pattern side of Eva foam, for layering, ( punishedprops.com/foamsmith-tools-and-materials/ as the backside is the same as the Eva in the picture ) I was thinking about a mouse sander, or can you think of something better 🤔🙂
