  • I was originally planning on saving this video to be one of my last uploads from my trip, but I just couldn't wait to share it! The only time I ever got to see a Heil POD in person was when I was only maybe 3 or 4 years old, and thus had little recollection of it. After discovering that they still existed after joining the online refuse truck community, I made it a goal of mine to see one in person again. I always hoped to be able to make a video outlining the versatility of the system, and thanks to Mike and Scott, I finally got to make that happen! In this video, you will see Heil POD's mounted on FWD MF42-3321 chassis collecting carted residential waste, commercial front load dumpsters, as well as a rare look at the body transfer process! I hope you guys enjoy this video as much as I do! Unfortunately, these trucks are slated for replacement any day now, so this will likely be one of the last videos of these unique trucks! Thanks for watching!

Wow...I miss these PODs like crazy. Would be nice to see the concept brought back by Waste one of these days, though whatever it would be, nothing would be as cool as these FWD PODs.

Now the transfer part is something I had to see, definitely a top job getting that on video! Looks like a bunch of skyscrapers in a city =]

Lol, the can't. I had a video a video years ago of one trying, and then later picking up several two yarders that replaced the single 8 yarder.Unfortunately, I have no idea what became of those clips, as they were never posted, or backed up. Sequim used to have a bunch of 8 yarders, and now, you won't find a single one in Ex-WM territory, yet you'll find at schools that used to have 8 yarders 4 2-yarders.

At 2:50, was he saying what the hell to you or the truck? Lol. Was the driver friendly? I'd love to see a POD try to pick up an 8yd! Awesome video!

@@JMANWiSS Yeah the new sound on the back up beeper is on purpose. All the beepers in Australia are like that now. Is to do with the ear and brain being able to correctly triangulate the direction the sound is coming from.

Great video. Never seen trucks that use commercial compactors as a body before. Do they collect the recycle with the same type of truck?
