- Join host Pete Pardo for another rant, this time he discusses the 2020 Motley Crue reunion tour that will also feature Def Leppard and Poison. #motleycrue #defleppard #poison
Rush retired with class. But that's because Rush has class.
Rush retired because Neil couldn't perform at his high level ... otherwise, you are correct
Yes,RUSH retired properly.Deep Purple is going about ending their touring days without any set end date, but tapering off as time goes on. Also pretty classy,I think.
Rush also has a lot cash in their bank accounts, they didn't waste it on drugs and washed up actresses.
Yes Rush is great. Not high up with me but they are a no bullshit band.
One time big Kiss fan. They gone down the same route as Motley. The Who for me is my over all favorite. Deep Purple a second. All the spin offs from Purple. As a metalhead armored saint is killer.
Steven Schmitt Rush always concentrated on the music rather than ingesting half the world’s Bolivian marching powder and making sex tapes with surgically-enhanced Playmates of the year.
In an unrelated story cocaine sales are set to increase
Indeed! Haha!
Lol, don't forget Heroin.
That is so true
Don’t forget all the double bacon cheeseburgers these venues will be selling when Vince Neil shows up
Tommy looked tweaked in the tour promotional video! I feel the need, the need for greed!
"Byapass My Heart"
Lyrics:
When I get high, I get high on cheese
Kraft macaroni is the drug for me
My heart got clogged, bypass my heart
Always got the cops coming after me
Krispy Kreme's got glazed donuts for free
My heart got clogged, bypass my heart
Ooh, are you ready girls?
Ooh, are you ready now?
Oh! Yeah! Bypass my heart 'cause it just stopped
Oh! Yeah! Baby!
Oh! Yeah! Bypass my heart 'cause it just stopped
Oh! Yeah! Baby!
Running out naked to a KFC
Or to Burger King and Pizza Hut and off to Hardee's
My heart got clogged, bypass my heart
Say I got trouble, trouble in my eyes
I haven't seen my wiener for a very long time
My heart got clogged, bypass my heart
Ooh, are you ready girls?
Ooh, are you ready now?
Oh! Yeah! Bypass my heart 'cause it just stopped
Oh! Yeah! Baby!
Oh! Yeah! Bypass my heart 'cause it just stopped
Oh! Yeah! Baby!
When we started this band
All we needed, needed was a laugh
Years gone by, I've become such a fat ass
When I'm enraged or hittin' the stage
Cholesterol rushing through my veins
And I'd say I'm a hell of a fat ass
Ooo, ahh, bypass my heart 'cause it just stopped
And to think, a Big Mac still rocks...
That was pretty good. ⚡😎
Guns and roses are living off there first album..
Noel Gonzalez No
Noel Gonzalez their
Totally overrated band. Their first album was good though. But that's it. How many do they have? 2 or 3?
@@dr.phibesinred6066 my thoughts exactly..I saw them three times..once before there Fame..Ritz in N.Y...they filmed it..Giant Stadium ..floor section..they filmed the video..those times.. excellent performance..but with Metallica and Faith no more..yuk
@@noelgonzalez7390 I bet Metallica kicked their asses...
The Who hold the record. They had their farewell tour in 1982 and yet are still going today.
Grey Holm I read their 82 “farewell” was one pressured by promoters who wanted a money grab. Pete at that time wanted to end the band as a touring entity but still was interested in the band keeping together. Regardless, bands are messy...nothing ends with a nice bow on everything.
More like 'Who's Left.'
@@drummer78 It was also because Pete was still boozing and drugging since Moon died. So, he basically wanted to end the band because he died. As for them reuniting, let them.
JIF882 True, I think Pete genuinely and stubbornly wanted to plow ahead with The Who after Moon’s death. Also, I believe they got a new record deal too. Still, you are right, I think Pete buried a lot of feelings that came about vis his booze and drugging 79-81. Also, the Cincinnati tragedy seemed to really take the wind out the sails because prior to that, 1979 was looking to be a successful year for the band.
@@drummer78
No need comparing The Who with these clowns. The Who does, and can do, whatever they want...they're The Who. Case closed.
I saw Motley Crue in 1983, 1985, 1987 and 1989 when they were kicking ass, i only care about the good old days when we were all young and living through the 80's which were the best days of my life.
Vince Neal needs to improve his health. He looks and sounds terrible. Forget the damn tour.
I care more about digging out my Winter coat and boots than I do about a Motley Crue reunion.
Well, looks like Mick Mars owes me some tickets.
Yeah but would you even want them
Waaaa cry why don't you?

I thought that Peter almost said that.
Vince Neil’s voice has been shot for 20 years.
Since Motley Crue started
That was a voice?
He's had a beer gut for 25 years.
No he lost his voice 15 yrs ago,ha,I'm just pissed,he cant stop eating his way through this tour
I thought he always sounded like a strangled cat.

To f****** funny
Fuck that was beautiful lol
I rarely believe a band when they say "last tour." So many have said that only to go touring again. "Last tour" is another sales gimmick to sell more tickets.
I agree..i hate when artist rip people off by doin this...Kiss..garth brooks...ozzy..etc..etc..just totally liers
I think The Cure is on their 26th "Farewell" tour, at least.
Noel Gonzalez liars
Those hepatitis meds aren't going to pay for themselves.
Brass Bonanza!
I get the feeling that it's now Mick who's most in need of doctor visits and prescription medicine. He's had unavoidable health issues for a long time. It has nothing to do with drugs or unprotected sex in his case though.
No Brown M&Ms though lol
The "Seen Better Days" tour. That's what these things should be called.
I just can't fathom the notion of large crowds of people showing up to see Motley Crue at this point. I saw Motley Crue and Def Leppard separately during the 1983-84 time frame, as each band had just released their break-out albums. In both cases, I saw them just weeks before either band had truly hit it big yet.
I saw Def Leppard as the opening act for Billy Squier, supporting their Pyromania album. It was at the Spectrum in Philly, and the audience LOVED their performance so much, that they booed Billy Squier off the stage later!
I saw Motley Crue at the Spectrum, supporting Shout at the Devil. They opened for Ozzy, who was supporting his Bark @ the Moon album. He had recently picked up Jake E Lee as his new guitarist. The crowd liked Motley Crue, although unlike Billy Squier, Ozzy wasn't booed off stage!
If Motley Crue just plays songs off first 2 albums and Def Leppard just plays songs off first 3 albums and Poison doesn't show up... then maybe I would go
Ya forgot if it was free
Mick Mars even promised it would be free 😂
LOL
Thanks, Pete. I've only truly cared about 2 reunions....
1984: Deep Purple
2006: Asia
Lucky for me, both lineups made a lot good music reunited.
Part of why I like your channel, you have just as much contempt for these bands as I do, how anyone can think they're talented musicians is beyond me, and I love when you rip on em!!😂
We’re with you Pete-NO. We didn’t see the Farewell Tour” and they not getting our money this time either.🎧
am I the only one who when Motley Crue said that they were retiring I was like "ok when will Nixxi Sixx need enough money to pay for another doctor's appointment".
Why would he need a doctor's appointment?
Saw them opening for Maiden in 1984. Everybody hated them. Now it's 2020 and Maiden are stronger than ever. And still everybody hates Mötley Crüe.
SaME WITH MY IN gERMANY
I'd take John Corabi too any day. He is free since Glenn Hughs is in as Dead Daisies lead singer now anyway!
Worst offenders for this is KISS. I stayed on the KISS bandwagon for years after I should have gotten off, but of all the crass cash grabbing they did over the years, the endless "final tour"s finally hit the station where I ended my relationship with the band. I don't even enjoy listening to their music anymore.
KISS only fooled us one time on the Farwell Tour. Don't act like like they did it multiple times.
Kiss is music for children, the McDonald's of rock n roll.
They last got my money in 2001 and they have been saying farewell for the last 18 years.
@@Dagger-Deep Um.. Ok lol
@@raymondkizer1216 Pretty much the same time-frame for me.
I do like Motley Crüe, Def Leppard, and Poison. I saw Motley 3 times, Def Leppard 7 times, and Poison 3 times, BUT I don't even give two shits about this tour. I don't need to see any of them live again, don't need any new music either. If I want to hear them, I'll just listen to their albums which are still Grade Fuckin A to me. I'm sick of giving away my money. Lol
@Scarecrow music5
Why?
How is it giving away your money when you’re watching something you like and enjoy. Dumb
@@Aimeeejolee8019 Because those of us that saw these bands in their prime at the time tix were 16 dollars and they kicked ass. yes i understand inflation but 350-600 for a ticket now is just absurd. today you really are giving away money.
We're not seeing them because we don't party anymore.
I only saw MC once and that's because they opened for Maiden. I would never pay to see any of these bands. That one time for Mötley Crüe I had to, they were part of the package. Don't get me wrong, I can tell by the numbers that you love these bands, but these were the bands (among others) I hated in the 1980s... ;-)
Dead Leopard was never the same after Steve Clark died. Technically they have the best guitar team ever... but there is more than technique to music. Pete Willis and Steve were amazing song writers. Phil did some good work witb Steve but things went South aftet Steve passed.
Best guitar team ever?wow not even close
Actually, I meant the most technical guitar team within Def Leppard... not all across the metal genre. Technically Phil Collen and Campbell are light years ahead of Willis and Clark... but technique and great songwriting often don't match. Willis.and Clarke were a superb writing team that got disbanded way too soon due to their respective addictions. They were not the flashiest but they had a great tone and vibrato as well as a solid send of dynamics in their lead.
Def leppard were a cut above Motley crue and Poison and they want to be respected and taken seriously but then they still associate themselves with these bands. Which is why so many just consider them a cheesy hair band.
Def Lepperd are & always will be a fucken joke.
They were a bag of shit from the get-go. Still hanging on to memories of some alcoholic and incredibly basic guitar-player after 40 years is sad. "Best guitar team ever" Jesus! have you just sustained a serious head injury?
For those who look forward to Motley Crue going out on the road again, look up some live material from their socalled farewell tour four years ago. They were beyond washed up at that point. Mick was accused of miming on his guitar, Vince´s voice was gone and had been replaced by his gut, Nikki and Tommy were largely the same.
It’s nicki who is playing back tracks. They fired mick because he was tired of the crap….bummer
Here’s my take on this entire matter of 80’s groups still hanging around or re-forming to perform. The 80’s ended almost 30 years ago which is basically a generation. That decade is now considered a bygone era much as the 50’s and 60’s would have been to our parents. A lot of us are now in our middle age years and will be hitting retirement in another decade or so and I do not understand why so many people want to bring back the 80’s by having these artists tour extensively when there really is no market for them to sustain a long touring schedule. It seems to me a lot of this is just pure nostalgia and reminiscing about what things used to be like and will never be again. Just my 2 cents Pete!
Hey! My grandma got excited when Frank Sinatra toured in the late 80s, so...
@@esteeb67 I know people who get excited for Tom Jones and the man is 79 years old.
Vince Neil's gut will require its own tour bus.
I am saving my money for the Motley Crue 2050 tour. I heard that they will be playing electric walkers...lol
I saw Motley Crue on the "Generation Swine" tour w/ Cheap Trick opening for them in 1997. Cheap Trick blew them off the stage. No, really don't care. Crap, but the wife might.
Leppard will blow them off the stage this tour.
@@darralldougherty5388 leppard has 5 hits, and they look like washed up has beens also
@@infoguy1978 If you think they only have 5 hits then Crue has maybe two...LOL.
I wouldn't even go for a free ticket and free food...coincidentally that is something Vince Neil has never said in his life.
You should do a show on how many bands play the same setlist for decades.
kiss,motley,
Muttley Crue are indeed a comedy. Not judging their songs, but the attitude
I might be more interested in this if Vince could still sing.
Rush retired. I sort of believe they won't play together again, but then they will all find some new treatments for arthritis or carpal tunnel or whatever they all have, and then I think they will be back for some types of tours in five years or less. But maybe not. Hard to tell with those guys.
The only thing worse than a stadium show is an aging hair band stadium show.
I dare a sober Motley fan watch them in concert and tell me they sound good.
Musically they can probably still RIP it up, the singing tho....
These guys were done years ago
All three bands are on my puke bucket list.
Helgamond Ratbone, ditto 👍🙄
Dude, that's fucking funny! Bahahaha!!
If you were a kid when Shout at the Devil came out, there was nothing better to scare your parents. That album rocks no matter what people say, will stand the test of time. The rest after that had hits and miss of course. Vince has never been a good live act, but its about being there and seeing them, much like KISS
If I go to that concert I’m only going for Def Leppard
they were never that good to begin with, vince couldnt sing even back then

The Reunion tour will be my first concert ever, and I’m really excited to see Def Leppard. Not really big a Mötley Crüe and Poison fan, but Def Leppard is my favorite band. Joe Elliot’s voice isn’t what it used to be, but that comes with age, and the band does deliver some pretty solid performances. Pretty excited to go, but I can understand why you aren’t.
I heard that Motley Crue will be updating their tune "Girls Girls Girls" as "Cougars Cougars Cougars" lol
Going to see Frank Marino in 2020, hell yes! The concert event of 2020 in my opinion.
I didnt know Marino is still out there. He was big same as Robin Trower and Pat Travers
Motley Crue, Poison & Def Leppard? My, my, that's an awful lot of cheese. Concert attendees won't be able to crap for a week.

Reformed because the awful Crue movie was popular.
@john wayne Yeah you're right there is a similarity but lot's of riffs are in the same key and written on guitar and JP were an influence on all hard rock/metal bands. Call it a tribute ;) Maiden stole a few from a band called Beckett.
Here's a question: What if Crue never wrote 'Home Sweet Home'? What would've happened to that album? Would 'Smokin' In The Boys Room' have been enough of a hit to generate the mega sales that followed? I don't think so. Without that song, no stadium tour in 2020, in my opinion. Kudos to the band, but BOY are they lucky they got that one killer power ballad in their back pocket.
Kind of a stupid question if you don't even like them in the first place.
He just said he liked their first two albums. Some of us didn't even like them!
I think you missed the point.
Motley Crüe is the biggest “GARBAGE TRASHY “ ever in music history
I don't, but it doesn't surprise me. For the fans: nostalgia is a powerful force. For the bands: money aside, once you've stood on a stage and felt the adulation of thousands, I'm sure it's really hard to give that up for good.
I'm 18, I like Motley crue for the first 4 albums... I am excited because I grew up in the wrong era. Therefore I never grew up during the 70s or 80s so seeing them for the first time is exciting. Yes Vince is shit now but I want to check that off my bucket list. Idk, I grew up in the wrong Era:( Great rant!
The sad fact is that when bands say they’re doing their final tour, by the time they reform 18 months later most people have forgotten about the last one. We are acquiring the attention spans of gnats and that’s good for ‘80s has-beens like Muttley Crude.

K. Andrew Hedlin - Exactly!! But Motley being the drama band they’ve always been.. will prob self destruct..
k andrew hedlin- Def Leppard and everyone on this bill have 7 good songs they are milking to death and sound horrible now.
infoguy1978 - DL sounded pretty damn good coming off their ‘19 tour.. so whatever! This about MC...
The hair is lookin' good Pete.
I agree with you, but rock n roll may need this. Rock has never died, but it does take naps from time to time. Who knows what this reunion may inspire in others.
@Jerome Lund i am sure that's got something to do with it.
Poor Mick. I can't imagine that he really wants to do this.
I only saw them once back in the late 80s and kinda wouldn't mind seeing them again but I wouldn't get to excited about it.
I was a huge massive fan of Motley Crue's over thirty years ago when Girls, Girls, Girls came out. I was barely ten years old and fell in love with their song Wildside big time. My first opportunity to see them live was on the Generation Swine tour, and it was just ok. I saw them two more times , once with Scorpions which was PHENOMENAL, and the second time was on their New Tattoo tour with Megadeth and I enjoyed Megadeth, but that was the last time I saw Motley Crue. That was over almost twenty years ago. Def Leppard I have seen so many times and I stopped going to their shows because their setlist is always the same. I know that I am in the minority but I am tired of all the hit songs from the Hysteria album and the three big hits from Pyromania Photograph, Foolin, and Rock Of Ages. I look the rest of Pyromania, all of High N Dry, and all of On Through The Night, but the majority of their fans don't know those albums. I have seen Poison only one time, but I only went to their show because of Cinderella and especially Dokken back in 2000. This tour does not interest me at all. I do still love Motley Crue's albums from the 80's up to the self titled album with John Corabi alot, but most everything that came out after was horrible in my opinion. It is insane that the last time that they put out a great album was 25 years ago. There are other bands that also still tour and put out new albums that in my opinion haven't had a great album also in at least 25 years. Most bands are lucky that they released at least two to five amazing albums with amazing songs that they use tour after tour for a long time now. Most bands that are still around touring only can because of songs they recorded decades ago. Their songs from the past 25 years or so would be bathroom break time or time to get more beer.
John Katsoudas
- if i die tomorrow is a good song though. one of the only handful of good songs they made after feelgood
John believe it or not Don Dokken sounds even worse than Vince now. Sad.
I was more excited to hear Poison was gonna do something big for 2020. But touring with these bands Poison will be on the back burner. I am a bigger fan of Poison then the others.
No. Saw them twice. Once opening for Ozzy in about 83. Pretty good. Saw them with Loudness opening around 89. Okay show. I got a free ticket for that show. Poison also sucks.
I like this guys honesty. Brutal & blunt
the reality of these bands keep retiring then getting back together is the fact that (as you touched upon) they just don't seem to know what else to do with their lives. coupled with the fact that its a massive ego boost for them again to be getting when most of us 50+ guys see a life of putting our feet up. these guys just cant seem to do it !. plus, like you also say. they live a lifestyle that they try to keep on the wild side of, that needs paying for. suppose its the hollywood high life is hard to let go of. i personally dont have a problem if people are still prepared to pay money to go to see them and they can attract stadium interests. hey, old 60's bands still do tours nd look and sound bad and people still go out to see them if they can with their walking sticks and zimmer frames !! .but its all they know what to do so think its gonna still carry on into the late 2000's that 80's and 90;s bands will be following suit . but its the prices i have a gripe with. they are old bands playing the same music and struggling really in places to reach the right notes !. but they still charge extortionate prices to go to these gigs to see these bands. so it seems like the worse they get. the more they think they can exploit from people. im a big journey fan and they are also in the same type of situation where they just do tours and churn out the same greatest hits packages and its really a big con rip off for the fans really but they too also manage to get away with it by filling up venues so i guess theres their answers as to why they keep doing it. and it aint gonna stop cus like i say, its all they know to do really !
Couldn’t care much less. I enjoyed their last tour to say goodbye and mostly to see Alice Cooper. After Alice played , good seats opened up and saw Motley close enough to feel the piro 🔥. You signed a contract with your audience, now honor it. Don’t go away mad, just go away.
I loved the Crue and have been to countless shows. I bought a ticket to the final tour believing that was it. I'm done and not supporting this tour.
the Motley Crue movie that came out recently was more entertaining than Crue has been in 30 years
I’m actually looking forward to the upcoming tour.
Made the unfortunate mistake of saying “who gives a shit” on Loudwire’s Facebook page. I even went so far as to assert that new releases by Opeth, Candlemass, and Borknagar were the future of Metal. You’d have thought I dipped my boys in the slaw at the company picnic. I got crucified by Nikki Sixx fans who told me in no uncertain terms that Opeth blows. Glad you did this rant, Pete. I got the business end of a hair metal hissy fit. Cheers.
Joan Jett will be the highlight of the tour.
Motley Crue hasn't been relevant since 1986 and their former fans are now in their 50s and are too busy working on their retirement or putting their kids through college to be bothered to attend a concert that relies heavily on nostalgia.
Hey Pete, how about Kiss, they only retired a dozen times
Yeah, they are another one! LOL
A dozen? What years did that never happen?
KISS initially were going to retire after their Farewell Tour but changed their minds. Rightly or wrongly. I for one think they should have retired after the Farwell Tour, since Paul Stanley can no longer sing. They are now for sure on their last tour. Motley Crue actually did retire for a few years and swrore up and down that they were done. And here we are today and know that they were full of shit and no longer retired.
Lets assume we're talking Paul and Gene's "loophole." It was a farewell to the original lineup. Smh at the demon and starchild.
WRONG JEFF PHILLIPS AND PETE PARDO. KISS Initially retired the original lineup in 2000 -2001. And now they're playing their final end of the road tour. All other tours between were never announced as farewell or retirement tours.
Im saving for the 2050 Stones World Wide tour
I saw them twice in the 80s and I didn't care back then.
They call Nikki sixx a bass player all he needs is one string and one fret and two fingers
When guys in their 60's are singing Girls, Girls, Girls it all becomes a little creepy and sad.
Singing? That’s being a bit generous to Vince.
Imagine if they played All In The Name Of?

I only saw Crue once. They had Ratt opening for them when Ratt had Out of The Cellar out. Great double bill. I was never a Poison fan.
I saw Def Leppard on their first American tour, opening for AC/DC
Oh lord not another band. Hey if people are dumb enough to pay for tickets then that’s on them. I certainly don’t care and haven’t since I was in high school and had a mullet
Yawn
Maybe you could do a rant about bands or artists you would like to see do a reunion tour like the original grand funk or zeppelin with Jason bonham
Jeff Klassen - Actually yes he can.. keep up!
On another note. Ratt needs to retire also. Pearcy may be worse than Neil as a singer.
Pearcy NEVER could sing...Vince was passable years ago
Correct...he's more than horrible!

Def leopard and Poison can still sing and play but Motley you’re right on
I don't give a shit about the Motley Crue reunion. Back in the day they sounded like a mediocre bar band so imagine how they sound now.
Do i care? No......If I HAD to go..It would be for Def Leppard only......Never Seen crue-Wasn't a Big Fan- But I Saw Quiet Riot just destroy Poison Back in 86'......Not even Close-Poison is a teenage girl Band back then.
I like Crue's music but I really dislike the dishonesty of coming back. I mean they signed a contract to prove to all the fans they were done for good and now they tear it up? It's ridiculous. They don't deserve to be on the same tour with Def Leppard, who are actually smart with the way they run their business and they're a class act. Poison is sort of in the middle of the two extremes I suppose.
No Pete, no we don't care
we don't care! WE DON'T CARE!! :P \m/
That tour announcement does not set my world afire, to say the least.
Hey Pete , totally agree with everything you say here . The sheep will go and think it’s awesome with a band well passed its use by date .
This is so below Def Leppard.
Absolutely agree...but I guess the paycheck was too hard to ignore.
Larry Fleetwood - So Agree!!
Preach it Pete! I seen Motley Crue (91 and 2014) twice and Def Leppard (2016) once. Crue was pretty good in 1991 - fun show but it was very predictable. Crue's 2014 show pretty much proved to me Crue was done. Sixx and Lee still were first rate players but Vince and Mick were not good. I thought it was good time for them to end it. I actually think Sixx AM is better band than 2000 Crue. I think DL was always a better band overall. Good classic album war though would be Shout at the Devil vs Pyromania - maybe be worth doing or not :)
The only one of those guys I have any respect for is Mick Mars. Its a big no for me, and that goes for the two bands touring with them as well.
Regarding the Black Crowes, I heard that the Robinson brothers had a sit down and decided to bury the hatchet. They're brothers. So, why not? Btw, anyone who thinks that the Crue would be great, needs to have his head examined. Vince lets the audience sing most of the songs. Having said that, Mick probably has medical bills, and Tommy will probably have to pay another ex-wife.
NOPE! dont care
How did they get past the contract that said theyd never tour again?
