I live down here next to the Chattahoochee between Eufaula and Seminole. There are literally hundreds of CC's in this area. Being adjacent to the bay and Gulf of Mexico, it just makes more sense to own such a vessel around here. Do all, fish all!
Rock Proof Boats makes center console jet drive boats for bass fishing rivers like the Susquehanna. I think they use to make a bass boat that had a center traditional console for a while too. It was pretty cool looking.
CC's been around forever. Did you just say you pitched the idea to manufacturers ?? I would love to have an 18 ft. jet drive for the river. 325 hp. Rotax
When Nitro made the CDC it was a good layout. These style i personally i do not like the standing up to drive concept. Maybe if it was a shorter console and seat lower.
At 78 I sold my Nautic Star 22" CC and bought a Triton 19 Patriot. I can't tell you how many times I hooked the console and rods in the vertical rod holders while casting. The 19 is faster (both have 225 HP) and it holds much more gear. It's think the 19 is also more comfortable for an old timer because of the seats. To each his own.
I spend a lot of time on NC coast fishing from center console bay boats. Horrible for casting and huge waste of space. The console takes up the entire middle of the boat for floor space and rod space for casting. You're forced to cast forehand or back hand only depending on where you are. Can't switch back and forth. Much prefer a side console boat for fishing. The center console idea came from trying to stay dry in rough water. It's better for that purpose, but other than that, much prefer side console.
Skeeter made a Center console model for Rick Clunn in the late 80s but it didn't sell well enough. Then in the early 2000s Rick again pitched the idea of the CDC to Nitro, but again it was discontinued after just a few years due to low sales
CCs are great offshore were you need to get around the boat constantly but for a bass boat I don't really see any need to change the design, it works really well for its intended purpose. The only thing that needs to change is 5hey need to stop this ridiculous idea that they should be carpeted! I know they offer it as an option to do Marine Matt's vice carpe5 but it should be standard. Carpet is the dumbest thing in a fishing boat ...
Nothing new they tried center console bass boats in the 90's and they flopped. Center console in multi species boats has been popular because of the room to walk around the console.

It's not to late to fish Pure Fishing Leagues NO FFS tournament tomorrow on Table Rock...Im sure your sponsor would appreciate the exposure

That's a bay boat. Good luck being a co-angler on that.
MLF and BASS rules state that all anglers be seated when the motor is in gear, so you can't operate it standing

Why did you not get one? You formed a positive opinion of Vexus and your dealer rather quickly.

My knees don’t work in regular bass boats anymore.

It looks like the decks are smaller- to each their own- I’ll stick with my 18 year old Tracker 190
It's about time they do this. Yes
I would love for Skeeter, Nitro and Bass Tracker to do this.
It would be really cool if Skiff came out with bass boat's.
@@joshuamurphy8270 they have in years past, and they didn't sell well enough to continue manufacturing them.
@@MarshallLanier Skiff did?
@@joshuamurphy8270 no. Skeeter and Nitro
Nitro did this in early 2000's. A friend has one . Merc. 250.
I like bass seats/handle for longer runs
I thought you were old school
In Florida they buy center consoles to fish both salt and fresh water. See a lot on The Big O.
I don’t think so Tim
Good boat for the summer in table rock since you are in the ocean. Probably a really good guide boat.
I would not mind having a center console.
That’s called a bay boat.

Gambler made center console bass boats back in the 90s. Great concept , just not many made.
I'm running a center console now from 84

Center console = wasted space. Especially on bass boats like Skeeter and Nitro.
Center console would be easier to load your boat on the trailer straight every time too.

Go get yourself some cheap sunglasses
Not too sure of the hull quality on those aluminum boats. Vexus hulls are crap crap crap
Those things are ugly as hell and the front decks are tiny
Hell no.

Great commercial
Don't like layout . Definitely not for me.
Just my opinion... It just looks ugly.. but that's just me..
That's important 🙄
