How do I know if this clip would work for my knife

Does the clip tear up your pants? Llooks like it would.

It locks on and off. So it doesn't tear up your pants because you need to remove the clip. It does apply pressure to your pants or belt but it's so much pressure it doesn't slide back and forth like a regular clip thanks!.
