  • Welcome back to allready the third epsode of my table saw workstation build project. After making a new top and a frame around the original tablesaw it is now time to make some zero clearance inserts. Also modified the riving knife. I must tell you that i am doing everything on my own way. Based on my 20 years of professional woodworking experience i am building this workstation. My goal is to show everyone you can make a table saw workstation for a minimum budget. make woodworking affordable. That's why i chose OSB, MDF and a used tablesaw for example. you are free to copy my work but make sure everything you do is safe. If you don't trust it don't do it. check everything twice befor using. You have to be responsible to yourselve. Enjoy This video and please let me know what you like or dislike about my project.

    I’ve been watching since almost day one. I think Laura Kamf? sent me over. Your skills both in woodworking and videography, are growing and it is delightful to watch you work.

    That's a good idea to make multiple zero-clearance insets.

    Superb upgrade!! Very impressive. Great to see you were able to keep the riding knife with your fantastic new zero clearance plates.
    Love your stuff. Keep safe in these dangerous Covid19 days.

      @@Dutchshedwoodshop So, I have the top on. My hesitation is cutting out the hole for the inserts. I cannot cut straight with a jig saw. Boutght a new one and it is much better but still afraid of ruining the top. Any suggestions tips, videos? I uses melamine attached to particle board for the top.

      I too am hesitant on cutting out the inserts. I also bought a new jigsaw but seen to still need some more practice. I am contemplating making a frame jig for the jigsaw or the router. I am thinking I will get the best results using the router

    Hello, really enjoyed this series of videos and it's inspired me to improve my table saw too, but where are parts 4 and 5 you mentioned in your first video. I'd like to see how you made a more permanent fence, and how do you stop the whole thing moving on the wheels when you are using it. Thank you..

    Great additions to this growing build mate. Can't beat a angle grinder shot can you👌 was that timber fruit tree and did it smell really nice? Looked like some I had a while back.

    Thank you so much. I have a table saw the same as this on, & was thinking I'd have to do something like this to get some accuracy. I like the idea of the different inserts as well. Have you got brakes on those wheels?

    I’ve searched hard for simple cheap table saw improvements like this for the past week or so and this is the best I’ve found. Really like the build. Have you made a fence yet and also any thoughts about channels for a miter gauge or sled?

    • @Dutchshedwoodshop
      @Dutchshedwoodshop  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching, yes i made a fence but have not filmed it. If i would make this again i would use 3/4" mdf for slots indeed

    So how does the surface of the osb effect your cuts? I'd be worried the wood might catch on it or snag.

  • @shaunintheshed
    @shaunintheshed 4 года назад +1

    do you find you lose much height off the blade with the OSB board top for the saw?

    • @Dutchshedwoodshop
      @Dutchshedwoodshop  4 года назад

      Hi Shaun, i lose 10mm of hight because of the osb. But i never use the full 90mm of hight anyway. Because the tablesaw is not powerfull enough for that! So no i don't find i lose hight 😄 thanks for watching 👍
