When George Carlin died, I actually felt the world's IQ drop by a couple of points.
It does line up, the economy shit the bed around when he died.
@@nickgangone9541 Shit I was in highschool and we knew even then that we lost a good one, we watched him all the time.
@@Chris-sf7ug I was too little to know who he was then
I grew up watching Carlin, I feel pretty fortunate to have watched him, Pryor, and Williams. They probably had a lot to do with my colorful vocabulary as well.
ONLY A COUPLE
This bit actually makes me tear up every time I hear it now. I think that started in my early 30s it suddenly struck me how earnest and passionate he is when he talked about politicians and says “they don’t care about you THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU” the urgency in his voice is moving. He genuinely cared. He wanted people to wake up.
Now look at us.
Yup. Behind all his cynicism, he was hopeful
Yes he did he made jokes of what he new was the honest truth I always seen his jokes to be right on the point
I'm the reincarnation of George....and here goes a joke I made up while watching pp don't hug me I'm scared.... Okay here goes guys hope you like my joke! If George was alive today he'd say "I gave you the damn information you needed in 1993, SCREW YOU PEOPLE I'm going to sit back and watch the chaos...as I mentioned in my George Carlin jamming in New York special on HBO
I agree with u I feel he really cared about letting us know
George's later performances were more like vulgar lectures than stand-up comedy shows, but goddamn did he spit some righteous venom.
The routines definitely did get a LOT more real and thought provoking the older he got. The older he got, the less of a shit he gave.
I love seeing the earlier performance of him in the 60's. He was very mild mannered and was mindful of what he was saying but still delivering his jokes perfectly. Then cut to when he's older and you can see he's gotten a whole lot more cynical and pessimistic which you can't blame the guy for witnessing all the bullshit in front of him.
I have digital copies of every standup he taped from the 70s to his death . His evolution is amazing .
@@toxictator4561 Absolutely. His autobiography shows his mindset with every evolution. It's great . The Life is Worth Losing set is his darkest in my opinion.
They're still well worth watching. :D
Yes but he was still funny as hell. He once said "my job is to make you laugh at shit you already knew", or words to that effect.
This man was a force of nature, you can't counter his reasoning 🤣
💯
He was a prophet.
@@AppliedFool042 you don't have to be a prophet to see what's already true while you're alive
@@Sudas80 He didn’t hate America. He hated the system that wages war on ordinary people at home and abroad!
Why counter it?....he was only telling as it still is...🤣🤣🤣
George wasn't a comedian, he was a philosopher.
Exactly !! I been saying that for nearly 3 decades
Amen to that.
he was both
George had a lot of great commentary, but I wish more people would remember that he *was* a comedian. He said shit that guys on the internet think is the smartest thing they've ever heard, and forget that he did it for a bit. Just think about that and keep it in context if you're taking it to heart and making it part of your mental process.
You must be a comedian because that is the only way to tell people the truth without offending them.
“I didn’t know he was so ruthless.“ You haven’t seen anything yet. George carlin is the GOAT.
You can tell that he really cared. Not all of his bits are serious, but in a few of them you can really feel how much he wanted people to wake up and smell the coffee.
Imagine if he would be alive now...
BOY he'd roast the sh*t out of America 24/7😂
And possibly the rest of the world too :)
He'd most likely be cancelled by the very people he defends.
@@ivantheterrible2594 don’t worry in every country we have our own philosopher ^^ who roast us 24/24 xD
@@juhawks37, remember the list of 7 words. He wouldn't be cancelled, he would win in court another war against the stupidity of modern society, like he did in the past.
"I just thought he was this sweet old man"
Honey, this is the guy who said the 7 words you can't say on TV.
“They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.”-Joni Mitchell.
I love joni Mitchell! One of the greatest songwriters ever!
The title is actually "Big Yellow Taxi"
Blue is in my top 3 albums of all time 👌
There can be no denying that George Carlin is the greatest stand up comedian that ever lived.
I've watched George for decades, he went from class clown comedy to
Comedy of a genius .. his wisdom will never be forgotten.
This man was ruthless, but truthful. He called them like he saw them. He made you think. So many excellent points. TRUTH!!! We are not in the club.
George was a modern day prophet who saw the writing on the wall. He called it 100% and instead of laughing, we should've listened.
I've listened since I first saw him at Arizona State in 1978. He was a philosopher who expressed his thoughts in the only way he could without being censored by those in charge.
George was not only funny he was spot on with assessing everything, his stand up was some of the best entertaining truth bombs ever.
"i did not expect this from George Carlin"
She says while listening to one of his most tame bits
Aside from awesome, he did something almost no comedian could: he never peaked. The older he got, the better and more ruthless he got. His final show, at 70 may even be his best!
Yup, George Carlin wasn't just a comedian but he was a *philosopher,* actor, author and social critic and a very smart man. Born and raised as a New Yorker, and was known for his black comedy and reflections on politics, English language, psychology, religion and various taboo subjects. He and his *"7 dirty words"* comedy skit(which was a pretty funny and relatable one and recommended) were central to the 1978 U.S. Supreme court case F.C.C. v Pacifica Foundation, in which a 5-4 decision affirmed the government's power to regulate incident material on the public airwaves. And widely regarded as one of the most important and influential American stand-up comics *OF ALL TIME,* and not to mention he dubbed by the newspaper to be *"the Dean of Counterculture comedians".*
The guy said a lot of facts and yet was funny about it at the same time, told it like it is and wasn't afraid to speak his own mind and was a true comedic legend.
*MORE* George Carlin please! 😎
George was one of the greatest philosophers in the world. He was amazing, even other worldly. I absolutely adore him and his endless wisdom. RIP my friend.
Wisdom, disguised as humour, delivered as a blow to the head. George pulls me back every time I wander off.
I had the pleasure of having front row tickets to one of his shows over 20 years ago. It is an experience I will never forget, a legend!!
I saw Carlin when he appeared at a local University in Western Maryland! The gym was packed and we all had a great time! So much laughter!,😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
It's great seeing someone dig George Carlin for the first time; not just the humor, but the big truths he brings to the table.
And this was in 2005...boy did George get it right or what? Always seemed to me as though his last few years, he was just trying to educate us as much as he could before his departure. Anything of his is worth watching. Subscribed.
He saw the writing on the wall.
Glad you reacted to this.
🤘🏻❤️🔥
Thanks for the Laughs 😃 always loved that man...So much he said came true lf it hasn't already happened...
Love your channel...
Lj
Carlin is a joy to listen to. His later material wasn't as funny as his earlier stuff, but still very true and smart, more like a lecture than a comedy show.
Bits like "Religion is bullshit", which is a little older than this, is equally true and smart, but also very funny.
Watch his skit on religion. He straight says the reason for that. “The older you get, the more you realize 💩s f*^+ed up”
George was a God. I am so glad to see the younger generation discovering him and giving him his due.
By far my favorite comedian ever. I was glad to be able to see him live in concert back in the mid 90's. At one point during the show, he had me laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath for over a minute...my dad was worried about me 😅
@@Neuromancer2112 That's awesome!
He wasn't a God, Joe was a God
Great to see you again Shea!.. OMG Carlin was a treasure.. you should chase his work.. all the way back to the 70's!!
LOVE your reaction to George, hahahaa! I grew up with him to some extent, so watching someone experience him for the first time is GREAT. :D Totally subbing, please do more!
I discovered George’s comedy about fifteen years ago. Observing your reaction to his work reminded me of my own experience discovering him. Thank you so much!
Aw glad you could live that through me again! Means a lot. Thanks for watching
His point about stealing it is more that we try to sidestep that fact by using words like "inherit". History not learned from is destined to be repeated. History covered up one can't learn from. It's not about guilt, it's about knowledge.
George was a super comedian and he spoke the truth. He did not worry about other folks feelings. Just stop and think about what he said. Truth!! I hope you liked this man. He was a superstar.
Carlin wasn't just a comedian. Carlin was a prophet. He saw the writing on the wall way before things came to a head. Shame we all just laughed it off and now we're pretty much fucked.
You cannot go wrong with George Carlin. Even after his death he's still hands down the GOAT and a big part of the modern comedians list him as their main influence. Anyway for a next reaction I think that either "Rights and Priviledges" or "Pro Life, Abortion and the Sanctity of Life" would be good picks.
Don't forget the one where he talks about the immune system
I love his take on religion.
@@Lukeeey100 one brush for all areas ? Armpits, a$$hole, crotch and teeth. Not necessarily in that order 😂😂
George Carlin was a wise man. R.I.P.
❤
💯
George is currently sitting on the right hand side of God as we speak and he's convinced GOD that the job wasn't worth it...
Carlin is, and forever will be, my favorite comedian. Most of my outlook and opinions on life are the result of growing up (from before the age of 10) listening to him.
'Other George Carlin things...' ------------------- Lets see......EVERYTHING. The man is pure gold in everything. Every standup show, every movie role, etc, pure genius.
I was a fan of this man for around 30 years till his passing. I still miss him.
Big time pig time lmao. Carlin was fucking great, even when he was super old like he was here he never lost that grit. I reccomend "Religion is Bullshit", "The 10 Commandments", or "The Sanctity of Life" all genius bits by George
Thank you for posting this!!
I appreciate how aware you are. It's refreshing to see that . Keep up the good work and I love your expressing your faith. God bless
He is the Rage Against the Machine of comedy. RIP GOAT comedian.
I think that it is great that people like you show what George Carlin says. so that ,more people are aware of how they are being scammed, so they can spread it around to their freinds.
you remind us that awesome people exist, thanks man
I was reading the newspaper at my desk as a police dispatcher when I heard George died. I actually cried. He was hilarious and I'll always believe he was the funniest comedian I've ever -- or will ever -- see. But he wasn't a comedian as much as he was a philosopher & socially passive observer. People say he was a philosophical comedian, but I prefer to think of him as a hilarious philosopher. I listened to him growing up and I think he's the person who taught me to notice these things. I don't recall George ever speaking about ideological subversion but his way of speaking to people is probably why I started noticing the same kind of things he noticed. He hinted at it when he said "and they control all the media so they control all the news & information you have access to. They got you by the balls!" It sounds nuts but travel outside of the US and see how different media tell you different stories. It's shocking.
i rly loooove ur way of internalizing his ideas.... well begining sis!!!
... n pls look for his other vids to rly see wide open
5:50 - 7:32 i was almost pissing myself laughing, this was way funnier than i expected it to be. Just subbed and a big fan of your content. Keep it up!
First time here! Great reaction. I subscribed! Glad you enjoy George. He was the best. A great philosopher who used comedy to connect to points of life. Issues that we don't necessarily think about but can easily relate to.
Aha ha ha! I almost forgot how funny and eloquent GC was. But this reaction of yours Mam just made me remembered.
Well actually, I just love looking at your pretty face, he he. Say cool.
Glad you are reacting to something thats not just a distraction for a quick laugh!
George spoke the truth. BIG time. Yes dear George was super smart and he makes excellent points. I believe that George was the GOAT of stand up.
I do agree about you with the "white guilt trip" thing. But got to love George Carlin! I grew up with him and am happy you are now discovering his version of factual humor! :)
"I usually don't think about that...." but now you do. Thank you George!
Thank you for the video 📹. I agree 👍 100 % with George .
GOOD LUCK ON THE 50K.
SUBBED. MOST LOVELY YOU ARE.
GRRRRRR8 CONTENT.
I was fortunate enough to see him live. He was a true wordsmith.
George Carlin was the best observational character that ever lived. I always loved he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. Sadly missed
I read one comment that stated the world's IQ dropped several points when George died. TRUTH! You handled this video well. I adore your channel. Take care. And yeas GOD does love us, even the nasty ones.
Enjoyed, *subscribed* and hoping for more Carlin
"You have no rights" by George Carlin is an absolutely incredible skit. The guy was a genius, so wish I could hear him talk about today
Greatest comedian ever. A brilliant. Thinker, with no filter.
Love it. Learn and laugh a lot with George!!
New subscriber! Hope you reach your goals!
Cool to see people getting introduced to Carlin. Legend.
Shopping malls - which turned out to be a viable business model for just about *half a century* and now they're all ghost towns...
Definitely oneof my top 10 favorite comedians!
Man, George Carlin is my hero. Grew up watching him. Legend, way before his time and speaking facts! brutally. Bill Hicks was an awesome intelligent comedian too.💓👏🏻🤣😂🤣 funny how everything he said is happening now and has been for a long while.🇬🇧 ps, you should check out Bill Hicks and do a reaction to some of his stand up. He was a genius and hilarious.
Bill Hicks was definitely the heir apparent. He was great.
Some think Hicks turned into Alex Jones.
More Carlin: “fear of germs”, “airport security “, “advertising lullabye“, “a place for my stuff”
The most enjoyable George Carlin audio for me are his comedy albums especially from the 1970s, Class Clown and Occupation: Foole.
The older George got, the less fucks he gave. Absolute legend.
The part that ALWAYS gets me is the Oh my God, HUGE piles of redundant protoplasm😂😂😂😂😂😭
George Carlin is my all time favorite comedian. For the same reasons. Humor with truth and highly intelligent. I recommend the following.
1: People Who Ought to Be Killed
2: People Are Boring
3: 7 Words You Can't Say on Television (or 7 Dirty Words)
4: An Incomplete List of Impolite Words (both the audio and video are funny). It's a sequel to the 7 Dirty Words.
5: Death Penalty
6: Balance the Budget (or state prison farms)
7: War On Homelessness
8: Flying and Airline Announcements
9: George Carlin cartoons. This was on his Carlin On Campus show. There were three animated segments It's No Bullshit, News Segment and the Galaxy of Sports. This was the only time there was ever anything animated with George Carlin.
10: Advertising and Bullshit.
Those are my top 10 Recommendations by George Carlin. :)
George was a freakin' genius. This is one of his greatest bits. The bombs that he just keep dropping are just insane. RIP GOAT!!!
"save the planet" is one of my fave all time truthbombs
So true!!!
George was a guy who saw things, for what they are.
And found a way to make you realize it, while you were just coming down from the joke.
It's so funny , so true, and so sad, ...but Carlin , like Chappelle, Pryor, and Burr, make you laugh , when you wanna cry! ❤
One of the best of us, George Carlin he is missed by many of us.
RIP George Carlin 5/12/37 to 6/22/08. The man who spoke the truth about what is going on.
George had the ability to turn the mirror on the BS spouted to the US population and show just how they are being treated by ‘society’ . It sheds light on the injustices perpetuated on working class people by the elite and is applicable across the globe. His observations are as true to the US as they are to my home country the U.K. 🇬🇧. When will we as the people of the WORLD say enough is enough and institute change.😢😢
George Carlin tells the truth, but can fall back on the fact that all of these videos, are part of a COMEDY SHOW. LOL. I love Carlin's Comedy. RIP George.
George Carlin is the G.O.A.T of comedians! I love a comedian who can make you think!! He was also a philosopher. A very smart man!! Real raunchy and vulgar but it works for him. 🤷 RIP GEORGE ❤️
George is brutally honest telling it like it is.
Been watching Uncle George since the 70s enjoy, go back all the way wordsmith.
I just love how every single person that watches George starts laughing. Then after a moment or two, the little truth bombs he drops hit them. You can see in their faces the moment it happens.
George AWAYS comes in hot! He was an absolute genius, maybe the best at telling it exactly how it is. You might agree you might disagree but there it is for all to see.
Mad respect to how you reacted to this video. George is the BOSS.
I remember listening to George Carlin on his LP record one of my friends had after school at his house. Monty python records too.
And Steve Martin . Comedy records were popular in the seventies.
Don't be surprised that Carlin is so raw--he's straight out of the 60s counterculture. We need to bring this spirit back.
“A little sense of guilt”. That’s his point! He isn’t making YOU responsible for it, but he’s not letting Americans forget how they got here. Which is important.
No American would forget what happened but we also didn’t cause that or choose that. So I have nothing to feel guilty about
@@SheaWhatNow
I never said anything about guilt. What you feel is your issue.
It’s important to remember who got fucked over when the country was formed. You don’t owe black people or native Americans anything for what happened, but America certainly does.
I like when she says facts facts facts. I was aware of this when I was 18, I'm 43 now. I'm A diesel mechanic, a welder, electrical ability, and yet can still operate a shovel. On top of all that, I am capable of critical thinking.
The first publisher to put out "The Illustrated Kama Sutra For The Obese" is going to make so much money the book will be on the NY Times best seller list for a decade at least.
"Did not expect this from George Carlin."?
LMFAO!
Well I’ve never seen him lol
4:44 yeah I’ve seen one of those carts that they sell food out of at fairs and stuff that was selling deep fried Oreos.
It's always funny seeing how people assume Carlin was just this "old man" & when he opens his mouth the New Yorker comes out 😂
I knew about Carlin when I was a teenager (about 15 years ago now) and always wanted to see him live, but never got the chance. He used to do shows at my hometowns performing arts center. I'd honestly LOVE to have seen his thoughts on the Trump era. The man never held back.
George has always been spot on. Mr. Conductor from Thomas the train. How about the Hippy dippy Weatherman. 🤪😂🎅🛒🏳🇺🇸💲💲
You can't react to enough George Carlin for me. Keep them coming please. "Free Floating Hostility", "List Of People Who Ought To Be Killed", "Saving The Planet", "Flying On The Airlines" and "Religion" are just some of his clips that you should check out. If you haven't already I think you will love them.
I also think the "white guilt" is probably unnecessary since true historians will usually say THEY stole it all, not us. Either way it is just as much a disgrace that WE have done almost nothing to help Native Americans on reservations where many are living at poverty level and alcoholism is rampant.
"...the slow death of fast food..." 😅
George Carlin made comedy a philosophy. He made serious comments that made you think, but they also made you laugh and chuckle along the way.
5:30 And yes, Carlin is ruthless lmao. Please do more Carlin. Anything with gray hair is usually a good bit :)
He was so smart everything he said was so true
