Evan, your videos are so helpful. This morning, after studying this post, I opened up my convertible driver’s door. Sure enough, the top nut on the rear slide was gone. I was ready to drive to town to get a replacement when it occurred to me that there was only one place the missing nut could be - in the bottom of the door. I grabbed a fish magnet and rubbed it around under the foam cover, and bingo. When I pulled it out, I had the nut. When I buttoned everything up, my rattles were gone. I love it.
Thx for bringing up the magnet and bringing it under the foam saved me lol

Very helpful video. Just solved what had been years of window rattle. One of the bolts on my passenger side door was missing. Fortunately I had another bolt lying around that fit perfectly. No more noise.

Thank you for the video exactly what had happened to my drivers door(like your passenger door) took off the door card and thought there is no nut to tighten then realised it had gone walkabout replaced it and tightened up all nuts and wow back to like new doesn't rattle when I close the door any more fantastic I have subscribed and now have a lot more vidoes to look at Cheers
My windows have that rattle too! I thought it was supposed to be like that lol.. Good thing it's an easy fix

I had the same problem and I didn't even think about these 4 bolts. But what I found were the clamps actually holding the window to the regulator that were loose. Ima check these 4 bolts out just for s&g's lol.
In my case, the noise was caused by the cables of the window regulator rattling around. Some foam and zip-ties were the solution.

Made no difference when I did it, it’s the window pane itself that rattled so tightening them bolts won’t do anything. Found 2 bolts that hold the actual glass and tightened them too but window still loose.

Hi Evan. Nice video again, i have the problem of the window not dropping that few millimetres when i open the door on my convertible. Very annoying, i replaced the window regulator on the other side and what a pain that was to line up, so reluctant to take the side that doesn’t drop apart.
So the seal actual has a sensor that is responsible for this window drop to trigger the regulator to drop
Evan Goyuk Hi Evan, the lock assembly has a switch that may need cleaning or replacing. I’ve tried re-setting the windows but no joy. Will have to sort it soon.
Did this to my passengerdoor and it's fixed! But it didn't do anything on my driversdoor, it still rattles. Do you know any other way to fix this?
My rattle was not the window... all 4 bolts were tight. The issue was that a clip that held a cable inside the door had come loose and allowed the window cable to contact something inside the door. So if your bolts are tight and you have a rattle, be sure to look at the cables for the window regulator and make sure they are secure.
Hey man, I just took my door card off but all the bolts are solid. I even undone them all and redone them to make sure they're solid, but my window is still wobbly! Any idea what it could be?

@@EvanGoyuk yeah, after writing this I went back over it and removed them as they were a bit raised. Turns out someone done a dodgey glue job. All fixed now!

I have the same probleme, but on the other door (driver's door) and I can't close the door and idk why but after I removed all screws it's still not possible to remove that doorstuff :(
So i tried fixing this and it didn't do anything. I tried tightening the bolts with a wrench and i couldn't tighten them any more than they were........so is it just because i didn't use an impact gun? Would that do the job? Also I couldn't get to the upper front bolt because it was under the foam thing........i don't really know how to remove that without ripping it.
Can this rattling make sound when you closing the door? I have a clacky door sound when i shut the door. I have this rattling too.
Yes this will help. The bracket for the window regulator is loose. Tighten those bolts

So mine rattles while driving when the windows down, it’s an audible rattle... recon this is why?
Yes! So when it’s against the seal it has structure so this could absolutely be the issue!!

They look nice when they are working lol.. On my 323ci I've done a full rebuild of the door with good parts etc and opening and closing is a dream.. I love it. It's worth doing it
