This is gorgeous Alberto. I'm listening to the minor key arpeggiated variation with which you show what looks like a remembrance celebration. This variation is my favorite of your performance of "Les Sylvains de Couperin". It is very beautiful, with a wonderful sound and rhythm, it is very subtle and quietly stated. Couperin's original harpsichord piece was marked "Majestic without slowness". That's interesting to me, as you play De Visee's Baroque lute transcription at a lively pace, which suits the music very well, giving it an overall feeling of "Life", as you show in your video. I think this is a wonderful, engaging interpretation and performance Alberto, it makes me feel cheerful and happy! Thanks!!!

This is so beautiful Alberto! The sounds, rhythms and harmonies are gorgeous on your Baroque lute! It is such a subtle and endearing piece, totally apt for the people you show, going about their daily rounds. People are fascinating, and so is the music! I hear the rhythm of life throughout. It is a far cry from the Sun King to the streets of Northern Italy! Your wonderful performance is upbeat and beguiling, and your video is marvelous, they complement each other perfectly. I love your "People" series! Thank you! BRAVO!!! MORE!!!

It is wonderful to hear "Les Sylvains de Couperin" played on the Baroque lute. I had only heard it on the theorbo, and hadn't heard Couperin's harpsichord original until now, which is marked "Majestic". What is so striking about your interpretation of De Visee's version for Baroque lute, is that it is so busy and full of movement. Your photographs are still shots, but all together give an overwhelming impression of life and movement. It's wonderful! I also think of Louis X1V at his Court at Versailles, entering the Hall of Mirrors in a processional to this music, as your interpretation has a feel of pomp and ceremony to it too. That is probably fanciful on my part, as perhaps De Visee played it in Louis' Chamber, as he was employed to do. But I love your closing video, showing the silent, slow motion movement of people crossing the road. It looks like an elegant, floating dance, it is fascinating! Your transposition of Baroque music to contemporary settings is fantastic. This is an inspiring and very beautiful performance Alberto, and a wonderful video. Thank you for the life and expression you put into your work.

I would absolutely love to know just exactly who De Visee played this wonderful transcription for! I assume he played it for the King. But of course there is no way to know! Parts of it remind me very much of Couperin's "Les Baricades Mysterieuses". We are very lucky to hear you play De Visee's transcription of "Les Sylvains", I had no idea there was one. Thank you for bringing it to us.

Hi, thanks, my baroque lute is a Weigert made by Hasenfuss, the length of the strings is: 707, 894, 984, I play at 415 Hz and I use nylgut strings and some gut strings.

@@AlbertoCrugnola thanks for the answer. My luth has 66cm cause i ordered it so. I was not happy with the very thin synthetic strings wich were installed when i got the luth. But i played them a long time. Now i Made a step, and put on real gut strings , f d a f D and all octaves...
I Kind o like it , ordered them to 415, didnt dare to tune up so high, so i saddled at around 403 Hz momentarily. Maybe i put on a Nylon for the f1 and d2 to save money . All the best wishes !!!

Beautiful! Such spirited play! I know the version by R de Visée for the theorbo. I did not know there is also a version for the baroque lute. Did de Visée make this version himself, or is it a transcription on your part?
