Wow I recently heard about this franchise because of Atelier Ryza and I am in love with the game, I can't believe I never played them before and I played mainly RPG all my life, so I am gonna continue this one and try the older ones
Wonderful video - comments & suggestions already posted I agree with. I am lucky enough to own the DS Atelier Annie! One of my favourites. Only have one EU Mana Khemia, couldn't afford the others.
Lucky! I didn't even know Atelier Annie existed until I started researching for this video. Obviously it didn't come out over here so I always believed they never bothered localizing any of the side stories. I'd have it right now if it wasn't for that pesky price tag haha.
i like the fact that you are very informative, we need more videos like that on you tube. that being said, i have a few constructive criticisms on the video and ill be happy if you have the time to read this.(ps this may be cut off because youtube has alot of issues with "show more") 1. *the information* , like i said, very informative, and i love it, however that being said, it kinda felt like a bombshell at times, which leads to y next issue 2. *Organization* i like the fact you leave a number and subject in the video, keep doing that. thats a helpful thing on screen, however you use a lot a game play footage (which i like by the way). but i find too many instances were a visual reference of certain subjects would really help. *EXAMPLES*: a.when separating trilogies, and spin offs, it be nice to have pictures of games,or at least their covers in groups. (however the part where you talk about meme status was good, it gave a clear indication on what is said) b.just more reference images like picture of the characters, like when you talk about the ages scenarios keep in mind i love the video, its great, im saying this now so you can do even greater content on your channel.we all need to improve, im just going advice that could help
Thanks for the feedback, it's all mostly stuff I was aware of, truth be told I'm a little bit run off my feet with all of the games launching in this half of January and while rushing to get this video finished I kind of forgot to take a second look and add little features like the ones you suggested. With any luck everything will normalize shortly and I'll do better in future to keep the quality and helpfulness of my videos up :)
Mana Khemia 1 and 2 are both brilliant games.I tried to get into the series after with Rorona but they focus way too much on the alchemy side and it's literally all you ever seem to do.Battling and exploring seem very limited.Sucks we never got MK2 in Europe but i managed to play it years later on emulator.
To be frank, though, Mana Khemia and Atelier Iris are both outliers - the series has largely always been the thing you're complaining about - a light-hearted optimistic slice-of-life RPG where you play as an alchemist who spends most of her time in her Atelier. The series has *always* been about the alchemy, and the interactions between characters. MK and Iris are spin-offs. That being said, it would be nice if they'd make another spin-off along these lines.
@@angryraccoon9763 worse? Thats a GOOD thing, let epic journeys and huge drama for other RPGs, its nice to have a series actually focused on the daily life of a high-fantasy character
Oh shit I had atlier Anne and hated it, I ended up throwing it away. I could have a ton of money. I bought it used for 15 bucks a month after it came out.
Atelier annie is my first atelier game at first i hate it because she is too noisy 🤣 but then it makes me love this series more and still playing until now
Yup, don't play Atelier games if you wanted a 'manly' franchise. They'll never bring back Mana Khemia but at least some of the characters could return in a future crossover game like Nelke or they could make another Atelier game with similar battle system like Shallie :)
@@ballsem2175 nelke are like Dragon quest building. Disappoint battle, all about auto. And only few unit can battle , tbh I want Raze or Vayne at least can be assigned in fight. Excited about atelier online. But again, not good either. Especially it is JP. If the game about Ar Tonelico, that has trademark of harem. Can't blame the developer, atelier about alchemy not about brawler like gangster, they may can't do the same thing like battle system like Mana Khemia series. Because it will be the hard applied on 3D.
WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS HIGH IMPACT SEXUAL VIOLENCE
Wow, someone who actually aknowledges that the series already had plenty of fanservice BEFORE Ryza? What a rarity

Ryza was bundled with a thigh-rus
Lol, Rorona start a meme, i never imagine something like that could happen!

You should do an updated version of this
It's a really good video and topic ngl

hope this channel grows well
I love this games but i fuking hate they have so many freaking endings and events you can miss by blinking your eyes.
In Illya's case it's actually not that bad. What she was doing to Miyu probably comes pretty close.

Yeah, the worse part is that they only make light hearted atelier games.... instead of the great story and time based gameplay of Mana Khemia games.

keep up the good work !
your wrong bud, Mana Khemia 1=2 both had a NA release. and asecond on psp for mk1 so they did hit a westerm market
rated R for Rorona.
Rated PG for Puni Gang
It took me so long to complete that one, because well, seeing Rorona running around barely dressed distracted me alot lol.

Griffca Soyus I still have it, and I still haven't even gotten the true ending.
i like mana khemia more :)
by the way about the virus are you sure?
do you have a prove?
thank you
It was a big story at the time, you can google "Atelier Dreamcast Virus" and find a bunch of news articles about it :)
Jay RPG I will look into it
aww you did not elaborate more on the ps2 era , like iris, mk and viorate n,n
Yukikaze Kun. I don’t think he has a lot of experience in those titles. I think he has only played titles past rorona.
2020 - The latest Atelier Series that started with Sophie, now has 4 in it, with the latest being Atelier Lulua on PS4-Nintendo Switch- and Windows.
That's actually incorrect,
Lulua is the forth game in the "arland series" not the Mysterious series

Why is there Illya in the thumpnail.?
After two videos you got sub from me mate :D
revived the Mana Khemia series!! deadly serious!! atelier series this day not more than girlie franchised
Which Atelier game, except Mana Khemia, was not about a girl maincharacter?
