I love how silly they are in this one. The rap is so fast. It’s not the clearest but it’s insane. This is absolutely babytonix. They had a great time with this one.
Not only does each member of the Trio rap, but they also rap as a synchronized group! For some reason, Kirstin just draws my eyes throughout the entire song - she just seems to be having so much fun doing this song! And then she does the outro in a Pikachu outfit - where did THAT come from?! EDIT: fyi, this song was done before Can't Hold Us, but only by about 1/2 year
Yes, as their career progresses you can see them using more and better sound equipment every year. This and their cover of "Gangnam Style" were done with the same setup and the sound suffers, especially for the back row. Maybe in "Gangnam" it doesn't matter so much because Scott's singing in Korean.
Great reaction. You can tell by the shadows on the wall behind them that this was early in their career. They got better with each video. Part of the reason they used a couch in Bohemian Rhapsody was to honor early videos like this. Gangnam style is fun too and Scott sings in Korean. They hang a microphone above them for the trio and then off side Kevin and Avi each had one. They would do a few takes and pick the best one( like they so on their medleys) I really like Problem, Mitch raps like crazy. The studio version is amazing but they perform it at a radio station live that is top tier Also, Kevin raps in the PTX original Sing. Kevin and Matt rap in their BTS mashup of Butter x Dynamite. PS, Just for fun look up a version of this at an airport They gathered around an airline announcement mic and performed this song ❤❤❤❤❤

That was a bit of fun! Yup...all just sitting on a couch with one mic and posted it on youtube. It got them noticed! I'm not sure what to recommend for you to check out next in PTX stuff....maybe Gold ( Kiiara cover) or go into Superfruit (Scott and Mitch's vlog) and check out their Empire medley or Rise. There's a lot of cool stuff in the Superfruit rabbithole.

Indeed, this was at least a couple of years before they did "Can't Hold Us". In 2013, while traveling on tour, they had a layover in an unnamed airport and ended up doing "Thrift Shop" on the counter mic, giving nearby passengers awaiting their flights an unexpected mini concert.
