I nearly cry too. And these countries are even not my countries (but I like their history).
My only countries shown in the video were brief parts with Scotland and Ireland. Though I consider myself to be mostly Slovak (and proud of it). (I was born in the United States by the way)

When Britain invaded Iceland to garrison it, my great great grandad met an Icelandic woman from there, who spoke pretty good English, became good friends. My great great grandad was moved back to Britain to defend the Isles. Every week they wrote to each other, telling stories and blah. When the war ended, he took a ship back to Iceland and they got married there, after a couple of years they came back to Britain and settled in Worcester. Hopefully you ain't bored from reading that

Very touching and heartwarming video about friendship between entire nations of people. The United Kingdom (England) and France share so much history together and hold, largely, the same ideals, hopes, dreams, and struggles, more so than any other pair of nations on Earth. Both are the product of Teutonic and Roman civilizations, both had massive overseas empires at some point in history (the 'rivalry' as the video explained); their progress and reforms coincided with one another throughout European history. After centuries of war and then peace, and then war, I think the people of France and the people of England began to understand each other more, and hate each other less.
Our friends found themselves in a centerpiece role in the world wars, and managed to pull through despite incredible odds. This is especially true of the First World War, where France was not for the most part incapacitated/joined the Axis for the duration of the war. Both England and France were thrown off the global power pedestal after WWII. Neither nation will ever return to their former glory, decolonization is irreversible. I don't think England or France has fully recovered economically from WWII/decolonization either, even today they both face economic issues as declining powers.
But friendship flourishes in times of mutual despair. "The future does not seem so dark if I face it with you." Wherever Europe heads next, presumably sinking lower, our friends will continue to cooperate. To give up on such a shared friendship, understanding, culture, and history at this point, is the unthinkable. As a European American with both French and English ancestry, nothing satisfies me more.This video made me cry.

In ww2 Germany had a big influence over Hungary... If we refused their alliance they would just stomp on us... but we took the risk Our leader refused to attack poland and said: He more likely to execute his whole army than attack Hungaries eternal ally... Later Germany kidnapped our leaders son and asked to give up the Polish jews hiding inside Hungary... He refused he risked his own son, his only son to protect people.

+Khoi T You're both wrong. It was the Russians who turned the tide. If it hadn't been a two front war, the full edge of the Luftwaffe would have cut through the RAF like butter. Most of the Luftwaffe was preoccupied fighting the even larger Soviet air force. The Russians could have won the whole damn war on their own. Both the European and Pacific theaters. The US was simply the most intact after the war.
***** It was Russia who defeated the Germans. The US was a little too late to the party. Canada didn't save anyone. They aren't nearly as powerful as Great Britain. They're mostly bears and ice. Great Britain has factories and cities. The US and Russia were real superpowers. Both had the resources, the manpower, and the industry to sign Hitler's mustache and sock Tojo in the jaw.
***** 7 out of every 10 German military deaths were on the eastern front. The Russians were undeniably the largest allied combatant. They may not have been the most powerful, but they did most of the fighting.

Yeah as a Brit and looking at our history with France it's been a wild ride, 1400 years of it. Fighting, royal family feuds, more fighting, fighting together in the crusades, fighting each other for 100 years, more fighting, fighting over the new world, fighting together in the trenches of WW1, pretty sure at one point during WW2 there was even the possibly of a joint Franco-Anglo union when France fell to the Nazis. Yeah an incredible history.

European countries are so nostalgic. All of us have so much history, always diverse, and always fighting each other. I am glad I am part of Europe. The continent of history and the continent of friendships, empires and enemies. We are united in diversity. Everybody with it`s own culture, from the ancient times, to today. European countries have always held within themselves patriotism, we shall never become one nation, we shall remain seperate, but while helping each other, because our history and our culture ahall not fade with time, and a great war, shall not happen here again.(Sorry for any spelling mistakes).
