    You should look into deleting the A/C and P/S. The first gens were offered without A/C and P/S from the factory, so this is applicable on the 2nd and 3rd gens. The factory non-power racks are out there or you can just do what the Miata people do to de-power a power rack and that works too (the ratio isn’t the same as a factory non-power rack though). But, deleting both the A/C and P/S free’s up a noticeable amount of drag on the engine. Do one then dyno and do the other and dyno to show the results. It’s super cheap and you’ll be impressed. Also, Saturn did offer a first gen non-air bag steering column that you can bolt into a 2nd or 3rd gen that allows for aftermarket wheels if you want to go that route too.

      Oh, right on! I think long-term we are hoping to keep the air conditioning option. But, this definitely gives us something to go off of if we do decide to go that route! That’s literally so great to hear about the steering column! I’ve been wanting to replace the wheel for sometime now and I’m glad to know that!!🔥💯

    One criticism on your new system is that you used not mandrel bends for your elbows which is not optimal for all the work you did.
    Regarding your 0-60 times: Were those the same wheels/tires you recorded your previous runs on? If these are heavier than on your previous runs that will slow the car on acceleration tests.
    If you want to add wheel horsepower, run the lightest wheel/tire combo, you can get a lightened flywheel, change the power steering to a manual rack. Shave the heads .040 to bump the compression, install flat-face valves to bump compression and get a performance valve job and mild head porting. Have the block bored .040 and install .040 over-sized hypereutectic pistons. All said & done that might gain you 15whp😂

    • @_stancebrothers
      @_stancebrothers  12 дней назад

      Good point about the bends. That’s true. As far as the wheels go, the RPF1 is lighter than wheels we used on our other 0-60 by may be a pound or two. But, they have a 1” larger diameter. Which, another commentor mentioned probably played some part in all the torque and physics of it all.
      Ha ha ha!🤣 You right!! That would definitely improve a lot for us lol🤩🤙🏼

      Curious if the service engine light came on after the cat delete. If it’s throwing codes because of the missing cat the computer will try to compensate by running rich to protect the cat from overheating and cost you power.

      @@ctusser ha ha! That’s actually a great question! I’m fairly confident that the check engine light has been on well since before we obtained it! From what we have heard, it was pretty much a feature on Saturn‘s straight off the lot lol 😂

    I would say you take that stock motor at its current standing and gather everything for a "deebs build" motor they say it provides more power. I have been thinking of doing it just havent done it yet. I have a 97 sc2 and an 01 sc2.

    Here is another cheap idea to squeeze a little more power. Put on a shorter drive belt 55.1 inch's to by pass the power steering pully and AC compressor pulley. This may help the engine to rev a little faster. Cheers I like the video

    Sorry I'm annoying but did you use those wheels when you did the dyno and 0-60 times both times, the bigger wheels would give you worse acceleration with such little power and less power on the dyno

    • @_stancebrothers
      @_stancebrothers  6 месяцев назад

      @@mr.stenchgrawg5519 oh shoot! No! For our previous dyno and 0-60 we had a 16". And we used a 16 on the dyno in the beginning of this one but the 17s for the 0-60. But I guess still tho as far as the dynamometer reads go they would be accurate still in relation to each other all the same. Also the Enkei rpf1 is lighter per wheel by like I think abt 5lbs than the other wheel set. So possibly would the reduced weight offset for the larger dimensions?? Lol! Idk for sure! Haha😭🤣

    You can remove any one of my comments I know for some reason I can't stop leaving comments lol, but just wanted to let you know that the ecotec bolts up to GM's 5spd manual from the s-10 so you have a potentially cheap rwd option there just the gear ratios suck lol Imma forever excuse myself now sorry to blow this shit up lol.

    Are you guys looking to get sponsored or something because you woulda saved alot of money If you just bought lengths of exhaust pipe and some bends cause you buying a Miata Borla exhaust thaay you have to cut and weld anyway doesn't seem like your saving any time

      @@mr.stenchgrawg5519Haha! Facts! So, we really liked the sound of the Borla sport muffler and had a bit of difficulty navigating how to buy the muffler as a stand alone unit. So since we needed the lil sensor bong and hangers it ended up working out in the end and all that. But you're right tho. In hindsight there would have no doubt been a more practical approach. 👍🙂

      @_stancebrothers, couldent use the old hangars and the bung from the old exhaust?, and what's so special about the muffler that came with the Miata kit, there's one on Amazon looks just like what you installed what's the difference? Sorry to blow up your comments maybe it'll help the algorithm lol 🦾 could also maybe do a 06-07 cobalt SS supercharged junkyard build but that's less original then #rwdsaturnsl2
