@@luisvaldes1568 I say the same thing all the time. Bring back the pat patriot logo! At least they brought it back for a game 10-9-22 and they looked incredible.
Those vintage Patriots uniforms were always among my favorites. And they played outdoors, like football is supposed to be played....and most of their games were at high noon, so there were virtually no shadows on the field during the games. The old Patriots games were incredible spectacle....
The 1970s Steelers are simply the greatest dynasty in the Super Bowl era of the NFL. Howard Cosell is simply the best announcer in the history of sports. And those graphics and the music when the helmets all appear on the screen during the intro - that's simply the best opening for any football television production.
I was at that game with dad. Great defensive matchup. The stands were wild with bad, drunk behaviour. Reason for few MNF in Foxboro in the following years.
I believe the 79’ Steelers are like the 75’ squad in that they seldom get their due for how great they were and the 1978 squad gets all the accolades. But the 75’ team (other than one bad outing on defense in Buffalo) were utterly without weaknesses. So too was this squad other than their (ridiculous) propensity to turn the ball over. But when you have 52 turnovers and go -10 in turnover margin, but still go 12-4 against a very tough schedule while racking up more the 120 yards more than your opponents per game, you too are an unimaginably good squad.
I didn't hear nor know of "My Sharona" until 1981... But I certainly listened to Weather Report's "8:30" Chick Corea's "Delphi", and just about everyone that I knew was listening to the first Bob James Earl Klugh collaboration "One On One"
@@isaacgreen3273 this sure does bring back great memories of watching this with my dad, in 1979 when this game was played I was almost 10 years old. I love watching this stuff thanks so much :-)
In the end, a fitting win for Pittsburgh. Chuck Noll's 100th win as a coach. And it was a triumph of professionalism against emotional play. But I'd give the game ball to the Steelers' defense for keeping them in the game when the offense was struggling.
One of the longest and heartfelt standing ovations I've ever seen. While the Stingley hit may not have been helmet-on-helmet, if I were Jack Tatum I still would have got down on a knee next to that wheelchair and apologize. But that's not how he and George Atkinson rolled.
I remember I watch that game the Steelers were in white jerseys black helmets and yellow pants and the Patriots were in red jerseys white and white pants. I remember before halftime over 60 thousands fans cheer for Darryl Stingley from the press box.
On the other hand, maybe there were just so few riding the fence on this guy back in the day. Love him or hate him. Everyone had an opinion! It's HILARIOUS when he tells Meredith "Stop being truculent!" in the 3rd quarter. Dude had character and a huge vocabulary. LOL.
Those Steelers teams from the 70's were one of the first teams to really do a lot of cheating. One of the big things they did, was that those players were absolutely loaded with ped's!!! Just about the entire team did them with a few exceptions like bradshaw, swann & maybe the kickers. It's really noticeable, in the fourth quarter when other teams are starting to fade a little bit, the steelers are able to pull out a victory. So many of there games they pulled out in the fourth because they had an unfair advantage. Now other teams may have had a player or two that were doing something, but the steelers had pratically everybody juiced out of there minds, what cheats! The entire decade should be called into question, those no good bastards!!!

Good Penn State guy, him and his brother Chris Bahr with the Raiders, both those guys could kick a country mile, both also played soccer for their HOF Coach/Father at Penn State.
He hated the city of Pittsburgh , also. I grew up there in the 60’s and 70’s and the local radio DJ’s used to stir the pot, so to speak before a MNF game at home.
1:51:47 John Stallworth always the consummate professional! No reason for that jackass defenseman to treat him that way on that play. Stallworth was such a gem! He caught so many poorly thrown balls it's almost hard to believe!
I liked the first change they made when they went to the lighter color blue than the color they wear now. If they could have kept the logo the same with "Pat the Patriot" it would have been better... but that's just me, lol...
the Steelers that came after this greatest of teams rode their backs by playing dirty and constantly whining despite getting preferential treatment by the league and the refs.... in fact the refs handed them their win over the cardinals years later.
Nothing compared to the win they gave them over Seattle in SB 40. When you are out-gained and negative in turnovers, yet win by 11 points it’s quite evident the zebras were in your corner.
