      Hope this feeling of cautious optimism will stay the same after Sunday night... Knowing Zach Wilson's ability, we are going to get SLAUGHTERED by Dallas. ZW is NOT the answer folks... If we don't get a legit starting QB soon, this talented team's season will turn into a waste very very quickly.

  • @CodyDoodle33
    @CodyDoodle33 Год назад +30

    I would love to have a tandem of Rogers and Hack calling plays. Wilson’s two biggest issues are his on field vision/ability to go through his progression and legit confidence. He’s one of those guys who wears his emotions on his face and it’s easy to see when he’s in his own head, playing tight. I swear, rogers fixes both of those problems to an extent if he’s in the kids ear all game.
    I feel like Rogers confidence in Zack matters more then Zack’s own confidence in himself. …

      @@yankees29 100% and it’s beyond frustrating because he’s got a bizarre amount of talent. You put the ball in Zach’s hands and his mind in Rogers hands…. That’s potentially just dangerous enough to make a Super Bowl run.
      Something no one’s really been discussing with Rogers is how fantastic of a communicator he is. We got a sneak peak of what that could look like during hard knocks. Let’s hope Arod is healthy and if so, I’m sure he’ll do everything he can to contribute to this team’s success.

    • @yankees29
      @yankees29 Год назад

      @@CodyDoodle33 I think AROD already helped big time. Zach has insane arm talent but he looks so nervous to me. I remember his rookie year he was very confident looking until a 320 lbs defensive tackle sacked him and landed right on top of him. Ever since that welcome to the NFL play I’ve noticed how nervous his feet have gotten. Do you remember that play? Can’t remember what team it was but poor Zach got flattened by big dude. 🤣 I think it’s possible he does get better with time.

    The Jets are done!!! Period. As a long time suffering Jets fan, I have refused to watch since the rumors of getting Rodgers here began. They have an idiot of a coach who drafted an idiot of a QB a year ago (yes, it was him who convinced Douglas to draft him) and deserves all of this. I didn't even care to watch this game. When my wife brought the injury up to me and I saw a short video of it with no ankle turning, I knew it was a torn achilles. The Jets deserve all of this. That coach deserves this.
    Unfortunately, a good GM might go as well for allowing this to happen. You had an excellent backup QB that can be a starter with a real OL protecting him, which could have been done using those high draft picks they gave up for a 40 year old guy (which, by the way, you passed over the year he came out -- the Jets had the 23rd pick and Rodgers was drafted with the next pick). You can't see that, you both will likely go.
    By the way, I go back to the days when as a teenager I remember the drafting of Donald Dykes over a national champion, Heisman winning QB from a little school called Notre Dame by the name of Joe Montana. In the 3th round no less. It was hard enough passing him over twice, (and by the way, their 1st 2 picks I loved) but a 3rd time? To select a no name DB? And don't get me started about passing over Dan Marino for a no name, Division II QB and the long plethora of other disastrous, idiotic picks.

    • @steves9964
      @steves9964 Год назад

      But you're forgetting that the Jets had some great alliteration in their secondary during those years: Donald Dykes and later Harry Hamilton and Lester Lyles. You would've preferred Montana or Marino over that?
      Idiotic picks or not, do you think Montana or Marino would've succeeded here? Or Jerry Rice instead of Al Toon? Toon was great but there's a reason his career was cut short. Kyle Brady or Warren Sapp? Their entire program has never been on the same page, all working under an absent, voiceless owner who's lacked clout and never defends the Jets in league circles. Simply put, just enjoy the misery and the pain like I do.
      I'm still optimistic about this season because I like this roster, I think the offensive line will gel if allowed to build some continuity, and if this quarterback can limit the backbreaking mistakes they'll be in most games. And if none of that happens then so be it. More pain. So what...it's just football.

      @@steves9964Just imagine if they had Joe Montana throwing to Wesley Walker and Al Toon (which I think was every bit as good as Jerry Rice. But keep in mind that he had to retire because of the idiot QB throwing the ball in the wrong places and him placing his body on the line to make the catches -- 9 concussions in 9 years because of that moron QB). Just imagine if it was Montana throwing to him rather than to Jerry Rice, and we'd all be talking about Al toon being the greatest right now.
      Just imagine Montana (or Marino) leading the offense being supported with that great defensive line, as great a defensive line as there has ever been when compared to how bad their DBs were. They only had one NFL caliber DB -- Bobby Jackson. The rest were clowns. Period. I saw every single one of their games. Did not miss a single one.

      @@Paul-cj1wb Agreed on the secondary, but I don't think these Hall of Famers would have had the same impact with the Jets at that time in Joe Walton's offense. Nothing was crisp, quick or efficient in that offense, and it wasn't just because Ken O'Brien was running it. I was just a kid during these years but I recall too many 3rd-and-six draw plays and 3rd-and-one slow developing, single man, low percentage patterns down the field.
      There are so many variables in sports, especially so in football. Everything has to be in sync. In those days nothing was in sync with the Jets, starting with when they fired Walt Michaels coming off back-to-back playoff berths and an AFC Title Game. Who fires a coach at that time? The team was trending upwards and the players loved playing for him; Klecko reiterated that recently in the run up to his HOF enshrinement. How many times did you see Ken O'Brien take a deep drop with his back to the line of scrimmage only to turn around with two guys in his face? It's a shame because the Jets wasted some great skill position players: McNeil and Hector, Shuler, Toon and Walker.
      They definitely reached for some guys, etc., but just because they passed up on "insert Pro Bowler here" doesn't mean they would have succeeded with the Jets.

    Can't believe the delusion coming from these guys after one win. The Jets defense is good but the Bills gave the game away because they have a turnover machine under center. This Jets team is nothing without a QB, Rodgers was our only hope to do something this year. They can't beat good teams with Zach Wilson, a sub .500 season is pretty much guaranteed. Surprised that these lifelong Jets fans are so optimistic. Doesn't make sense.

    If the can establish the run the Jets are going to be tough to beat they should start each game throwing the ball downfield then run the damn ball the entire game.
