    SUPERB Trifonv at his absolute best. Too bad he didn't use the same intelligent, hearttfelt refined lyrical approach in his performances of the C#-Minor Scherzo and the Barcarolle both of which suffered from excessive speed and too much overt virtuosiity. THIS on the other hand is perfectl SPLENDID in every regard.

      if he refined his scherzo 3, it'd be one of the best I've listened to
      remember, he's owning the piece, if you dislike the changes he makes, that's alright, but trifonov definitely plays for himself.

      Regarding the Scherzo in C sharp minor, it's labelled "Presto con Fuoco" and thus must be played in a very fast tempo, especially the coda.

      I felt the same way. This performance is so much more mature than his scherzo #3... Hard to believe it's the same guy. I did enjoy his rock star approach but I have to say Avdeeva played it cleaner and more musically than he did.

    A less popular Scherzo of Chopin; however I think that this Scherzo is almost up to par with the other Scherzos as to musicality.

      I think it's because this one is noticeably more difficult than the others! I actually think this is the best of the 4, myself. :)

    • @erikbreathes
      @erikbreathes 4 года назад

      I think its because it isnt as rampant as the other three. Which there is nothing wrong with, its just not very Chopin-Scherzo-esque

    • @ciararespect4296
      @ciararespect4296 3 года назад +1

      I think it sounds a bit dated compared to the others is far more virtuosic and has no real themes

    Daniil Trifonov cannot overcome his feelings which contrast with the calm and stoic attitude of the young Martha Argerich when performing the same piece

    Unbelievable technical mastery. The style is rather exaggerated (typical Russian), with a lot of very fast AND very slow tempi, and long pauses between the sections. What is the crouching for? Looks like a bad habit to me.
