Does the base unscrew? I have the same one and the base rotates both ways (like its loose) but I can't seem to get it off

Never thought I’d get a slide whistle question. Love it. Mine does the same , turns but doesn’t open. I was glad I could lube it up and bring it back to life. Was gonna just buy a new one. Can’t be too expensive
