I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen copies of Imperator: Rome in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

It just breaks immersion for me that it isn’t immediately apparent who you’re fighting and it’s dumbed down to just “yellow team vs red team.” I don’t know whose dumb idea it was to make that mandatory and not an option, but that really is a dealbreaker for me.

Better cavalry units than the Western Roman counterparts 6. Still able to recruit Armoured Crossbow Infantry(although inferior to Ravenna Elite Crossbowmen) 7. Smaller territories to defend Eastern Roman Empire disadvantages : 1. Weaker Spearmen and swordsmen units 2. At war with the Huns 3. Sassanid Empire and other steppe nations that potentially poses a dangerous threat 4. Prone to civil wars Western Roman Empire advantage : 1. Ravenna Elite Crossbowmen can mow down anyone especially on the high ground position, can be used as line infantries if the enemy has alot of weak melee units. 2. Cornuti Seniores and Herculiani Seniores are the best late game melee infantry units(You need to rely on them to face the Hun doomstack armies) Western Roman Empire disadvantages : 1. Latin Christianity religion has some controversial disadvantage(Stacks of Cornuti Seniores and Herculiani Seniores already bleeds your economy real fast, your religious buildings need money as well.) 2. Lower Graeco Roman Paganism followers within it's border, you need to wait for many turns before you can convert to Graeco Roman Paganism. 3. Vast territories to defend combined with high corruption and bad public order 4. Constant immigration and barbarian invasions 5. Bad faction leader traits 6. Prone to civil wars If you play as Liu Bei in Three Kingdoms late game, you're basically had to use anything learnt from playing as Western Roman Empire in Attila, because late game in Three Kingdoms is like a zombie survival game.

Cao Cao and Sun Quan are easy, Liu Bei is really hard on mid and late game, because in the late game your Ji militia can't use Pike Wall to deal with the late game units. Instead you have to rely on your more expensive Ji Infantries, spearguards and sabre infantries to hold the line. On the other hand, Liu Bei's faction buffs won't do much in mid game. You will basically reenact the saving Western Roman Empire in China.
@ReviveHF you forgot ERE's biggest bonus - 5% interest each turn on amount in treasury. You can literally just get infinite money to the point where army type doesn't even matter. 8-10 full armies of tagmata cav, no need for upkeep concerns
And bro dont autoresolve the rebel battles against garrison. Those are free wins. Especially if you have walls they just breach them at one point and your two infantry units will slaughter them while your cavalry swipes their archers and hits them in the back. Just save before one of the unwalled ones and test out how to fight it thn you can win all of them
