It's my opinion of course. Theres something in the smirk of the tusculum portrait that tells me Julius Caesar was no tyrant. Unlike Crassus, Julius Caesar refused to decimate his men after the defeat at the battle of Gergovia. His commentaries made him a folk hero to ordinary Romans.

@@RoyaltyNowStudios Throughout history and even to today, it was common to see men in high positions care more about their power and influence than their own personal relationships. He probably saw her relationship with Caesar as beneficial since it made them "connected" in more ways than one.
😆😆😆 That’s probably why a lot of his peers couldn’t stand him (although he appeared to have a sense of humor and was generally considered quite congenial company - for example, Cicero “almost wished” Caesar was still alive after his experiences with the politicians that came into power after Caesar’s assassination…
This brief history of Julius Caesar leaves out a great deal, especially his brilliant military campaigns in what is now Spain and France. He is one of the most astonishing men that Rome ever produced, as well as his nephew, Augustus.
Wow! He is truly stunning! Add to that his boldness & charisma. His early career shows his political genius. As someone who thinks about Roman Empire everyday, I must say this is an excellent video!!! :) Fun Fact: We use the solar calendar, instead of a lunar one, thanks to Caesar. "Like"
What's amazing to me, is when you make them smile... I don't think any of us think of them as humans like any other, with their own dreams and hopes. Of course, we know they were like any of us, but I don't think we ever imagine them smiling and laughing, being carefree and looking forward to the future, as any other young human being. That's what struck me the most when you did Anne Boleyn, and thank you for these incredible reconstructions ❤
16:50 I've seen the original of that painting in the Getty Museum, and it's huge! I loved it so much that I bought the postcard in the gift shop, & surprisingly, won an auction of the print, framed under glass, that is 4ft tall! I'm so happy to see that shown here!---Wow, the recreation totally makes sense, even as it surprised me!
his facial bone structure reminds me of that of Abraham Lincoln's. that same formation of incredibly high strong cheek bones with the deep, piercing eye sockets. very handsome but kind of startling at the same time. nicely done as usual.
I accidentally discovered these videos when rewatching the Tudors series. I am totally fascinated by these recreations and attention to detail. While it is sad that we will never fully know what these figures looked like, it is simply amazing to see the work done here that brings them closer to life than I would have ever thought possible. Subscribed.
Very interesting! So often it's Caesars foreign conquests and his death that is focused on. I had no idea about a lot of these events from his youth. Some might remember HBO's great show "Rome", but even that started when Caesar was middle-aged, and I couldn't quite get behind the actor who played him. That was my one issue with the show, which is why it's great to see a younger and more realistic portrait, hinting towards the charisma he must have actually had.
Incredibly handsome but there's something scary about his eyes. In the last picture, he looks like someone who most likely shouldn't be trusted. Great work as always! Thank you
Thank you for blessing us with your amazing talent and artistic facial reconstructions, it really makes the difference bridging the gap between historical and contemporary come together to make history come alive you are A TREASURE, humbly grateful for you my dear.

I absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed the narration in this video. And your recreations of Caesar in modern times - is one of the best, so far! I really felt the piercing eyes and easily handsome face, despite the unusual head shape. As always, beautiful work, through and through!!
Hi, I love your work. Here's a challenge or, better said, a humble suggestion. Do a take on Pakal the great. It would be not only an interesting project on a different continent and culture, it would also be a departure from Mediterranean-European subjects. Anyhow keep up the great work!
That is the face of a leader. But unlike the "leaders" we have today (every last one of them, I don't care what side you're on), who are more like the corrupt senators and middle-management of Rome, the leaders of the past weren't just people with a lot of money and small minds. They were often soldiers, actually educated in history, philosophy, understood poetry and art, and were - ideally - the best men alive in their time. We don't have leaders for over a hundred years now, we only have thousands of grubby little corrupt mini-tyrants.
Not sure if you listened to the documentary 😂 There was SO much corruption, elitism, gluttony, infighting, brutal killings...At least there are less killings and civil wars these days. No, human nature never changes. All we can do is be aware of it and make legislation and institutions (like the division of power), that keep our greed and power hunger in check.
Another amazing video!! Julius Caesar is such an interesting figure to learn about and I learnt so much from this video since I’m not that into Roman history ❤ Love your videos :)))
Personally I've adopted the description of Caesar couched by Colleen McCullough in her 'Masters of Rome' series. She used the Ferrucci bust as a template and made him blond with pale blue eyes ringed with dark irises - giving him the piercing quality so often discussed. A fascinating portrait, both physically and psychologically. Still, your version could very well be the truest one. Good job.

That was a very enjoyable watch! I'm glad to see you used the Tusculum bust as a base. However, the Arles bust is very much disputed.
